Chapter 69: Land of the Undefeated [2]

Aegon came down from the hills and walked in the street of the city.

This city was different from the one he had seen when he first arrived from the beginning, and it is also different from the ones at the other side of the wall.

While he walked, he noticed that the buildings here are high end buildings; they are luxurious and built with almost the same materials as that of the castle.

Every house on the streets looked like a manor of some wealthy merchant or high noble; those who ran the city and took all the money for themselves.

Or more; those who were already born with money; old money that had been passed down for generations to generations and continued to flourish.

"There is nothing I can say. The first city I entered is still connected somehow, but I think it is at the back of the castle."

Aegon raised his head, staring at the castle at the far end.

"Yes, I was able to see the castle then, but not as full as this, so it is only proper to say that one was at the back of the castle."

"But now that I am at the front I can say the street at the other side of the wall; which was where the poorest of the poor lived, I am confident to say this street here is for royal families and nobles."

"The rich folks of the city, that is why they are closer to the castle, having more access to it than normal civilians."

Aegon looked at each building one after the other, admiring their intrinsic design and structure, it was like nothing he had ever seen.

Each building was about three to five stories long. But what was more fascinating was their long and wide structure stretching and covering more land but still wasn’t bunched together.

After every building there was a massive space in-between making sure the other house had its own respected privacy.

’Hmph... if this place was in the real world. Forget skyscrapers, this would be seen as a mansion and would go for a high price in the market. Money would flow, who wouldn’t want to buy such luxury?"

Aegon was certain of what he was saying, and this applied not only to this new world, but also earth which had come from. It applies to everywhere that humans reside.

While he walks, his gazing now at the front, his expression suddenly frowned. Something was wrong and he could tell.

"Tch, not this again."

From every step he took, he passed a lot of buildings but now there were two buildings at both of his sides that were constantly appearing after every few buildings.

This was occurring after every three buildings passed; they would appear, and Aegon had already known what was happening.

He stopped walking as he got to the same buildings that had been re-occurring over again. Then he looked at both his sides and spoke;

"A loop... the same trick cannot work on me twice."

The was that although it was a loop happening; just like the one that sent him into the tunnel he entered, this was somewhat different than the last.

In the last design of the loop, it only featured a single building, but this one featured two buildings which had their own meaning.

One of the buildings was the way to keep moving forward and the other would lead him out; taking him far away like the last time.

Aegon obviously knew this was probably how the rule now would work. Whoever was playing him was playing smark, and is trying to leave Aegon to choose.

If he choose; he is either going to continue or be taken back.

However, that didn’t matter to Aegon. He was not going to fall for the same trick twice and moreover he doesn’t like to be played with.

"Hmph... like hell I’d follow your stupid rules. I am but a man of my own way, I choose the path I want to follow and not the one that has been laid for me."

"If I follow the path which I did not choose myself, I am but a pupper or pawn in someone else’s game, and I refuse to be shackled, bounded by fate."

Saying this, Aegon raised both of his hands to his lips. He clenched his fist but rose on both of his index fingers.

His fingers were close to his lips and then he spoke the word.

"Hollow; small"

At that moment, a small circular ball swirling of purple energy with white in the center began to form at the tip of his fingers.

Then, he moved them from his front. He stretched out his hands, widely, at his sides; each facing the buildings at his right and at his left.

He looked to his right, raised his thumb and used it to aim at the center of the building, while the ball of energy was on the index finger.

He did the same to his left side; raised his left thumb and used it as an aiming tool for the center of the building in order to get a good shot.

"Since I will not come to you, I will make you come to me.’

Aegon fired the small swirling circular ball of energy and with tremendous speed they reached the center of the building where the impact would be affected most.

Upon impact the two buildings shattered and sucked into the void of space that was created by the attack like a vacuum.

The attack was very small, which was its destruction.

It only affected the buildings that were hit and no other since Aegon didn’t want to erase everything in sight.

At that very moment, the mana space that created the loop suddenly shattered like a class and the real and normal view was replaced once again. But the two buildings were no more.

Although the loop was only used as a means for distraction in a certain area, and was created like a barrier that trapped the victim inside, it still affected the real environment.

After the barrier space of the loop had been broken and Aegon knew he wasn’t in any loop again, so without any time to waste, he started walking forward, heading for the castle.

"Wait wait wait!!!"

All of a sudden a matured masculine voice shouted, and Aegon paused from waking and began to look around, trying to find where the voice was coming from.

Then, a figure swooped in and appeared before him.

In front of Aegon, is an old mage who had a very long and messy white beard that hangs down past his chest, making him look wise and powerful.

On his head, he wears a very tall, pointy hat made of dark fabric that leans to one side and a dark heavy cloak with thick fabric layers covering his body; a shiny silver pin with a bright blue gem holding it.

The mage looked at Aegon with a serious, strong gaze, with many lines around his eyes.

He is floating in the air on a colorful magic carpet that has bright patterns. In one hand, he held a sturdy wooden staff.

The top of the staff is shaped like a crown made of gold and silver, with small gems on it.

As he floats, small sparks of light and energy drifts around him, making the air shine; his whole look full of magic and brilliance, from his flowing white hair and beard, to the crown staff.

Then he uttered.

"Wait a minute!"
