Chapter 68: Land of the Undefeated

Knowing where the monster mage was heading, Aegon decided to follow it thinking it would lead him to exactly where he should be.

He was already in the city, but this place was completely destroyed.

The church-like building in which he had seen after he came out of the tunnel was now destroyed from his earlier attack.

He didn’t know if there was anyone there or was it deserted just like the rest of the other buildings.

But seeing that the mage monster didn’t go to that direction, but to a different path, he knew for sure not to concern himself with the church.

While he was running, he looked at the system, at his mana pool and saw it had been reduced to ninety four.

’I poured a lot of mana into that skill earlier which cause so much destruction.’

’I only intended to kill that horse-shark monster, but I never expected the blast to take out the rest, and even three of the mages.’

’Well even so, that was a win win for me. It saved me from fighting all of them at once.’

Aegon looked at his right hand as he continued to run.

He, himself was shocked to how much he had grown and how much force only his skills had evolved.

He has already become very good at manipulating mana and wielding it as he sees fit, forming and making changes to his skills.

"Cannon Spatial Blast; Hollow. I like the sound of that."

He put his hand away, his gaze forward at where he was going.

Everywhere was completely blown into smithereens, but as he moved forward, he began to reach other places that didn’t get affected by his skill.

At where he was currently, there were a lot buildings, and as usual, they were deserted.

However, there something about these buildings that felt just strange, it wasn’t like the ones he saw when he first entered the city.

’This looked like a lower area. Perhaps where the poorest of the poor lived?’

Aegon looked around and saw that the buildings were not as good in shape as the ones from before.

He even saw a building that looked like a school because of the design that were on it, although these designs were already watched away.

"Even a school is no better. Just what is this place and how is it this messed up?"

It had just sinked deeper into Aegon’s heart that this was indeed a place where people had lived before.

Of course, it was in a the abyss now, but once, there were people who lived here.

Life was in existence, but now, was in ruin.

As he was thinking of this, he saw that he had already somewhat caught up the the mage monster, as he could see it in view.

"Gotcha!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

He sprinted, running faster to close the distance, but not so much that the monster would notice him.

And it worked.

He was close enough to have the monster in sight, but far enough that it wouldn’t notice him.

Just then, the monster turned right and Aegon saw it. He felt like he was getting close.

that he was going to unfold something from following this monster.

Although he had not forgotten that the castle was where he should be heading, but how could he when he didn’t even see it in this vast place?

"I still can’t see the castle. Where exactly it is?"

Aegon turned right and his eye suddenly widened.

At both of his sides were damaged buildings stretching down in a long street, and the monster could be seen in sight still moving forward

However, that wasn’t what caught his eyes.

At the place of where the street ended, there was a tall and massive wall almost translucent, but glowing.

The height of the wall was about sixty meters or roughly around one hundred and ninety seven feet tall, and it width was very wide that its ends couldn’t be seen.

Aegon was taken aback, and suddenly, stopped, when he saw the monster fly straight into the wall.

"What the?"

Seeing this, Aegon walked forward and reached the wall.

He placed his right palm on it and felt as it bounced back and forth like jelly.

’Its not made out of sand or cement. What kind of material was used... hold on this,’

"This is made out of mana?"

The wall as glowing in different colors that were moving like they were swimming, making it the obvious explanation.

But also because he would literally feel mana coming out from it.

"A wall that feels like jelly but made with mana."

He looked up and saw its height, which isn’t as tall as the monsters he had just faced.

"What could be behind it?"

Without hesitation, he placed his left hand inside the wall and his whole forehand disappeared, but could still be felt at the other side.

Then, he took a step forward and his whole body entered; passing through the wall and coming out on the other side.

"__"

The blood moon bathed down on everything that laid on the ground.

From the rivers, to the streets, and even the buildings that stretched for far and around.

However, the thing that collected the most light wasn’t the buildings or river, but the massive castle standing at the peak of it all.

Aegon was also standing on a hill, but it wasn’t so high.

From this view he could see everything as they are in place.

The big black castle emitted a strange and ominous aura, sitting high in the very top of another hill at the other side; far away way, looking down over the whole city.

It is shaped like a giant crown made of many stones towers and buildings all bunched together.

The most amazing part is that the tall, thin spire that almost reached way up into the clouds were like long needles.

Long stones wall with small round towers wrap all the way around the castle and the hill.

Blow the main castle, the rest of the city spread out with hundreds of little deserted houses and narrow streets.

A wide river flowing past the stone wall, and bridges cross the water to connect different part of the land.

The whole place was gloomy and ominous under the blood moon, with dead trees between the building and the big wall.

It looked like a place where a tyrant would live; in the highest spot where they could see far wide.

Aegon was shocked to see the castle from another place of view.

It wasn’t as he had seen it when he first arrived to the city, but now, was more clear in view.

"The Castle of the Undefeated!"

Seeing the castle and its ominous appearance he knew this was where everything was going to go down.

He looked back and saw the wall was still behind him, but didn’t know why it was there.

Why was the two places divided?

He gazed back, down, and saw the mage monster as it entered the walls of the castle.

"There you are, keep running, but I thank you for leading me here."

Aegon knew he had reached the heart of everything, he felt that Chrome was here and a massive event was to unfold.

So, with all these information in his head, he began to climb down the hill.
