"Mom, what are you thinking? Am I the type to be reckless?" Xu Mumu said helplessly, her face still flushed. Her mother was always one to make bold remarks.

"It’s good if you aren’t. You’re a girl, you can’t let that boy take advantage of you. This kind of thing can only wait until marriage." Li Caixia examined her daughter carefully and immediately felt relieved. Her daughter showed no guilt and wasn’t just trying to appease her.

Xu Mumu: "..." I’m not that kind of person, okay? Even if I like Yin Yang, I intend to wait until after marriage to pursue anything.

After chatting with Li Caixia for a while, she left Xu Mumu’s room. Xu Mumu kept thinking about her mother’s words and only fell asleep after a long time.

The next morning, Xu Mumu got up early, and Yin Yang was also busy, having already gone out to buy a bunch of items, as this was the official visit to discuss marriage plans.

When Yin Yang and the others arrived, Xu Mumu and her family had just finished breakfast.

Professor Song was pushed in on a wheelchair by Yin Yang, accompanied by Professor Jian and Zhou Yunhong. They were carrying a lot of items, many purchased that morning, and others brought back from abroad.

"Come in and sit, arriving so early." Li Caixia saw the things Yin Yang and the others brought and was immediately pleased. This young man knows what’s up, bringing so many items, many of which look quite expensive.

"Minghui, Minglei, quickly bring the chairs over, why are you all just standing there?" Li Caixia took the items while instructing her two sons.

Xu Mumu held her brother’s hand, and the little fellow, seeing Professor Song and the others, rushed over to them. They’ve been around for more than two months, and he’s familiar with them.

"Thanks for the trouble, Aunt," Yin Yang said with a smile.

"No need for formalities, our home is your home." Li Caixia patted Yin Yang on the shoulder. A young man as excellent as this isn’t easy to find.

Xu Mumu sat beside Li Caixia, listening to her parents and Professor Song exchange compliments about her and Yin Yang. She realized she had so many strengths.

Both sides were quite satisfied with each other, making discussions about the wedding proceed swiftly.

Before noon, the wedding date was already set.

Xu Mumu watched in disbelief from the side; she didn’t expect her mom to be so decisive.

The main reason for the swift proceedings was the generous betrothal gift offered by Yin Yang, which greatly pleased Li Caixia.

The wedding was set for after the sixth day of the lunar new year, and Li Caixia planned to head back by the tenth.

Now, there’s only half a month until the new year, and only twenty days remain until the wedding.

Yin Yang beamed at Xu Mumu from the side, as it’s finally set. How wonderful, he doesn’t have to just eagerly look at Xu Mumu anymore.

The wedding essentials were already prepared by Yin Yang, so now all that’s left is to wait for the wedding day.

At noon, Xu Mumu went with Madam Chen to the kitchen to prepare. Yin Yang brought a variety of dishes, and Xu Mumu cooked up a large feast.

"Mumu’s cooking is excellent; we’ll have fortune in the future," Professor Song said while eating and praising Xu Mumu.

Xu Mumu was used to these compliments, as Professor Song and the others often teased her with such remarks before.

Amidst Li Caixia and the family, Yin Yang was quite attentive, serving food to the future in-laws and pouring drinks for grandpa and Old Xu.

This diligent appearance made Li Caixia even more satisfied. This young man is diligent, mainly because he genuinely cares for their daughter.

After seeing off Yin Yang and the others, Xu Mumu felt a bit exhausted; this place sure has a lot of work.

Fortunately, there are many people at home, so tidying up was quick.

"Grandma, Yin Yang and I are getting married after the new year. Should we invite Second Uncle, Third Uncle, and Fourth Uncle here for the holiday?" Xu Mumu asked Madam Chen, as these are all direct relatives.

"Traveling such a distance, don’t the fare and food cost money?" Madam Chen felt a bit pained, as these are considerable expenses. The homes of the other three sons aren’t as well-off as the eldest’s, and the travel costs add up.

"I’ll cover their round-trip fares. The courtyard here is spacious, and there’s room for them, making it lively. That’s how the holidays should be," Xu Mumu said with a smile, as she actually missed her cousins a lot.

"Then give them a call, if they’re willing they can come." Madam Chen agreed, as having the relatives present for her granddaughter’s wedding would add to the festivities.

Grandma agreed, and Xu Mumu was quite happy, running directly to Yin Yang’s little courtyard, as the phone was only there.

Xu Mumu conveyed her intention, and Professor Song was naturally pleased: "It’s the right thing to do, more people make it lively."

"That’s what I think too, though it might distract Sir Song a bit," Xu Mumu said with a smile, knowing numerous family members and relatives would make for a lively New Year.

Her motive for inviting several uncle’s families was mainly for the elderly couple; after moving to the provincial capital with the eldest family, they seldom visited their old home, and now they’re here in the Imperial City.

The New Year is about family reunions, and without the grandchildren around, it doesn’t feel like a festive occasion. Though Madam Chen didn’t express it, she must miss her sons, as they are her own flesh and blood.

The brigade now had a phone installed, and Xu Mumu called in, surprised the brigade leader was delighted hearing it was her call.

The loudspeaker announced for the Old Xu Family to answer the phone, and the family quickly assembled—there weren’t many tasks keeping them busy as the New Year approached.

The first to pick up the phone was Xu Tao, short in height but running fast.

"Big sis," Xu Tao’s voice came from the other end, and Xu Mumu was quite surprised.

"Is that Little Tao? Where are your parents?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.

"Dad and Mom are right here, Second Uncle and Second Aunt are too. Big sis, what’s the occasion for your call?" Xu Tao asked happily; despite his sister rarely visiting, she often sent them parcels, be it useful study materials or various tasty treats he’d never had.

So he adored his big sister immensely.

"Pass the phone to your dad," Xu Mu smiled slightly; of all the clever uncles in the Old Xu Family, it’s the Fourth Uncle, making it easier to coordinate with him.

"Dad, big sis wants to talk to you," Xu Tao reluctantly handed the phone over to his dad.

"Rascal," Xu Po gently tapped his son’s head upon seeing his reluctant demeanor.

"Mumu, anything you need?" Xu Po asked with a smile, taking the phone.

Xu Mumu explained about her wedding and invited them to celebrate the New Year in the Imperial City.

On the other end, the Old Xu Family listened intently, no one speaking.
