"Yeah, do you like it?" Yin Yang asked with a smile.

"I love it," Xu Mumu replied, her face beaming with a radiant smile.

They had planned a vacation to the seaside, and Xu Mumu was in a great mood.

A few days later, Xu Mumu heard from Yin Yang about the follow-up on Zhou Yunhong and that Miss Wang he had a crush on.

Zhou Yunhong had taken a liking to that girl, and now they were officially in a relationship.

Xu Mumu was quite curious about this, mainly because she was intrigued by that girl who her family praised so highly. She wanted to see what the girl looked like.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have a chance to go back for now.

Two people getting into a relationship was a joyous occasion, and Zhou Yunhong was not getting any younger; it was time for him to settle down.

Yin Yang remained busy every day, and Xu Mumu was constantly occupied with revising her designs, still at a loss and unsure where she went wrong.

Without knowing how to improve the designs, she could only stick to her routine studies and expand her knowledge.

The professors weren’t idling either, occasionally pulling Xu Mumu to help them with experiments and assigning tasks. She was learning a variety of things, and she had mastered most of what her professors taught.

"Mumu, there’s an exchange event at Southwest University in a while. Do you want to take a look?" Professor Song asked Xu Mumu when he returned.

"Southwest University? That’s quite a distance," Xu Mumu questioned in doubt. Shengjiang City is far from Southwest University, and it’s even further from the Imperial City. Hence, Xu Mumu wasn’t planning to go.

"Yes, it’s organized by an old professor there. If you want to go, I’ll add you to the list," Professor Song said with a smile, as he was leading the team to participate in the exchange event.

"No, I won’t go. My improvements aren’t finished yet," Xu Mumu shook her head. It was mainly because she felt it was too far and attending an exchange had little significance for her, merely serving as another entry on her resume, which she already deemed impressive as none of the Hua University students could quite match hers.

"I figured as much. Never mind, I’ll pick a few others from the lab to take along," Professor Song said helplessly. He just wanted her to relax, seeing she was always either at school or across the way tinkering with her parts.

"It’s too far; I don’t want to go," Xu Mumu laughed, knowing Professor Song’s intentions.

But her designs always lacked just a tiny bit every time, which frustrated her like an itch she couldn’t scratch, leaving her no mood for leisure trips.

With that, the matter passed for Xu Mumu. The news of Professor Song leading a team to the exchange quickly spread among the physics departments, and many signed up enthusiastically.

The campus buzzed with excitement daily. Within two or three days, Professor Song finalized the list, and Jiang Zhenghao was among them. Xu Mumu wasn’t surprised, as Jiang Zhenghao excelled in every aspect, being selected was expected.

Grandpa would be away for a while, and Yin Yang helped pack a few things for him. The rest of the money covered all needs, and with accommodation included at Southwest University, they weren’t worried.

After seeing off Professor Song, the little courtyard quieted down significantly. Professor Jian busied himself with new experimental topics, and even the two dogs were bored at home.

That day, just as Xu Mumu entered the courtyard, someone approached, responding to the rental notice hanging at the neighbor’s courtyard for a room.

The person interested in renting was a young man, looking around twenty, wearing glasses, and appearing somewhat scholarly.

"Comrade, are you here to rent a room?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile, looking at the young man in front of her.

"Yes, yes, I’m Liao Wenqing. May I take a look inside first?" The young man blushed, surprised that the girl in front of him was the owner of the house; she was truly beautiful.

"Of course, let’s go, I’ll show you around." Xu Mumu nodded, grabbed the keys, informed Mrs. Liu, and led him to the neighboring courtyard.

On the way, Xu Mumu asked Liao Wenqing many questions about renting and mentioned some of her terms, mainly that nothing in the house should be damaged; if something was broken, it had to be compensated at cost.

Her terms weren’t excessive, and the rent matched the going rate, so Liao Wenqing had no objections.

Upon reaching the little courtyard, which she and Yin Yang occasionally tidied, it remained quite clean.

The small courtyard appeared neat, with several rooms available.

Liao Wenqing wanted to rent two rooms, which surprised Xu Mumu: "Besides you, who else will be living here?"

"My wife, and my parents," Liao Wenqing replied warmly.

"You’re married already?" Xu Mumu exclaimed, surprised, as the young man looked quite youthful, not at all like a married person.

"Yes, I got married half a year ago. My job was relocated here, so it wasn’t convenient to care for my family back home, so I brought them along," Liao Wenqing said, a bit flushed.

"Nice, all settled in with a job. Are you taking these two rooms?" Xu Mumu asked, looking at Liao Wenqing.

"Yes, just these two," Liao Wenqing nodded, having chosen south-facing rooms, which had good positions.

"Alright, you’re the first to rent from me, so I’ll give you a discount. By the way, the kitchen and bathroom are over there; you can use them. If you need to buy a coal stove or anything, feel free," Xu Mumu said cheerfully.

Liao Wenqing agreed readily, paid the rent, and they drafted a simple contract. Xu Mumu handed him the main gate and two room keys.

Having rented out two rooms, Xu Mumu was in excellent spirits, humming a tune on her way home.

On the way back, she ran into Shen Ya, and watching Shen Ya’s smile drop at the sight of her almost made Xu Mumu laugh. She hadn’t expected Shen Ya to dislike her so much.

Still in good spirits, Xu Mumu walked boldly past Shen Ya, drawing several glares from her.

The girls with Shen Ya weren’t from their class, probably from other physics majors. Xu Mumu found them vaguely familiar; she likely had seen them in large lectures.

Not far away, Xu Mumu could even hear Shen Ya talking bad about her.

Xu Mumu’s mouth twitched. Sometimes, having good hearing wasn’t a blessing; Shen Ya’s petty tricks didn’t bother her at all. Handling her would be too easy, not even needing Yin Yang’s help.
