Chapter 464: Urged to Have a Child

After dinner, Xu Mumu and Yin Yang chatted with their parents for a while before preparing to sleep next door. Before leaving, Xu Mumu was pulled aside by her mom.

"Mom? What do you want me for?" Xu Mumu asked, puzzled, looking at her mom.

"What else? What’s going on with you and Yin Yang?" The room was just the two of them, and Li Caixia looked at her daughter with disappointment.

"What could possibly be wrong with us? We’re perfectly fine," Xu Mumu was even more confused. She and Yin Yang got along well; he was more accommodating towards her, so they rarely had disagreements. She hadn’t noticed any issues in their relationship.

"My silly girl, you’ve been married for half a year now, and there’s still no sign of a pregnancy. When your dad and I got married, I was pregnant with your brother within two months. Our family is fertile; what’s taking you so long?" Li Caixia’s eyes were fixated on Xu Mumu’s belly, desperate for her daughter to give her a grandchild.

Xu Mumu couldn’t help but laugh at herself, realizing she too had been urged about marriage someday.

"Mom, you’re overthinking it. Yin Yang and I have discussed it; we’ll have a child after I graduate," Xu Mumu responded helplessly.

"Really?" Li Caixia looked at Xu Mumu, a little skeptical about this commitment. She was worried about any problems between her daughter and son-in-law, although she was very satisfied with her son-in-law.

"It’s true. I’m still studying, and balancing a big belly while attending classes isn’t convenient. It’s better to wait until after graduation to have a child," Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"That will take a long time," Li Caixia was displeased, "Daughter, let me tell you, it’s best to have children early; only with a child can you tie a man’s heart..." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Li Caixia rambled on with plenty of her husband-taming experiences for Xu Mumu.

Xu Mumu listened with a headache; her mom indeed had many tricks, no wonder her dad was perfectly compliant.

But her dad wasn’t exactly a fool, whether it was him being tamed or doing the taming was another matter.

With a blank face, she returned next door. Yin Yang saw Xu Mumu come back and smiled, "What did Mom talk to you about? You look upset."

Xu Mumu recounted her mom’s lectures to Yin Yang, successfully amusing him; he always knew his mother-in-law was interesting, but not to this extent.

"Mumu, do you want to try those tricks on me?" Yin Yang smirked slightly.

Xu Mumu silently looked at Yin Yang, feeling his words were particularly enticing.

"In your dreams. Go to sleep, aren’t you tired?" Xu Mumu glared at him.

"Not tired, I’ll sleep a little later."

Xu Mumu: "..."

Whenever it came to this, he became especially energetic, giving her a headache.

Sure enough, Xu Mumu got up late the next day, and by then, the spot next to her was no longer warm; Yin Yang had risen a long time ago.

Xu Mumu rubbed her waist, feeling a bit sore but otherwise fine.

After washing and dressing, in the next room, Yin Yang was helping Madam Chen clean the place.

"Mumu, you’re up. Breakfast is in the pot; go eat," Madam Chen said with a cheerful smile, looking at Xu Mumu.

"Got it, Grandma." Xu Mumu nodded with a slightly red face, indeed feeling quite hungry. As she went to eat, she didn’t forget to glare at Yin Yang; if not for him, she wouldn’t have gotten up so late.

Breakfast consisted of corn buns, some porridge, a boiled egg, and a dish of pickled long beans.

"Where are the kids? Why haven’t I seen them?" Xu Mumu asked while eating her bun.

"They ran out to play. There’s a wedding in the community today, it’s quite lively, so they went to join the fun," Madam Chen said calmly.

"Is it far?" Xu Mumu asked a few questions. This provincial city isn’t without kidnappers, and young Xu Minglei was just over ten years old, not very big.

"Not far, just over at Mingjiang Road; your grandpa went with them, no need to worry," Madam Chen reassured her calmly, as they were familiar with this area and there was no reason to be concerned.

"Alright then." Xu Mumu nodded and said no more. She was familiar with Mingjiang Road, just a few minutes away, not far at all.

After breakfast, Madam Chen and the others finished tidying up. "Yin Yang is truly diligent, and quick with work," she was very pleased to have Yin Yang’s help.

"I didn’t do much; Grandma did most of it," Yin Yang replied with a smile.

He mainly wanted to avoid playing with little Xu Mingfeng, staying to help Madam Chen with chores and wait for Xu Mumu to wake up.

"Leave the dishes, I’ll wash them. You two go out and have fun; there’s a new park nearby. I see lots of young people like to go there," Madam Chen took over when she saw Xu Mumu about to wash the dishes, creating an opportunity for the couple to spend time alone.

"Come on, let’s go out and play." Yin Yang said with a smile, looking at Xu Mumu, feeling that Grandma was really thoughtful.

Xu Mumu grabbed her small bag and left with Yin Yang.

It had been nearly a year since her last visit, and the changes were quite significant; the place was even more bustling now.

Many people were coming and going outside, and Xu Mumu even saw someone selling vegetables on the roadside.

"Do you want some plums? I’ll go buy some," Yin Yang said with a smile, noticing the plums over there looked quite good.

"Buy just a few; carrying them around isn’t convenient," Xu Mumu nodded, craving some.

Yin Yang nodded, buying a few plums, just enough for the two of them.

"Try it," Yin Yang offered a plum, freshly wiped, to Xu Mumu’s mouth.

Xu Mumu took a bite; it was sweet and sour, with a slight astringency, not particularly delicious but okay.

"Let’s wash these first," Yin Yang suggested upon inspecting the plums. Fortunately, they were still downstairs, so they went back home, leaving some plums there and taking the rest, washed, with them.

At the small park, newly built, it was the summer break, and quite a few people were visiting.

Walking through the park, they could hear the festive noise not far away from the wedding party Madam Chen mentioned.

Besides some kids, many of the visitors to the park were couples.

"The sun is a bit strong; let’s sit over there in the pavilion." Yin Yang led Xu Mumu to a pavilion for a rest. Although these parks weren’t as nice as those in the future, with Yin Yang around, Xu Mumu didn’t feel bored.

Chatting in the pavilion, Yin Yang talked about many company matters with Xu Mumu. Although she didn’t manage affairs, he still shared these with her to keep her informed about the company’s situation.

Xu Mumu listened, finding it a bit dull, but understandable since Yin Yang explained things thoroughly. At least she knew the company’s profit, acknowledging Yin Yang’s capability in handling these matters.
