With the identity of Sophie Bennett, Lucy Eaton could freely and boldly tour the Presidential Mansion without restraint.

She had an excellent memory; any path she walked would leave a mark in her mind.

After a morning’s walk, she had almost figured out the courtyards and walkways within the Presidential Mansion.

Usually, Sophie Bennett would wander around, and no one would find her behavior unusual.

During lunch with the President and the First Lady, she spoke much less than usual. The First Lady asked, "How are things with Charles Sharp?"

She lowered her head, eating as she replied, "It’s still the same."

The First Lady sighed, "Did you talk to him when you came here?"

"No, he doesn’t care about me." Lucy Eaton’s tone was over ninety percent similar to the way Sophie Bennett usually spoke. Without careful identification, it was impossible to tell that the ’Sophie Bennett’ before them was an impostor.

"You can’t always take an evasive attitude. You are husband and wife, and everything would be better if you had a child. Don’t be like a piece of wood; you need to use your brain, and men need coaxing."

"I coax him, who coaxes me?" Lucy Eaton retorted.

Seeing her daughter like this again, the First Lady was already used to it and didn’t continue to press her.

After the meal, she put down the chopsticks and asked, "How is my older brother now?"

"Don’t ask so many questions," the President didn’t intend to tell her, "This isn’t something you should worry about."

"Flora Palmer is truly despicable. I want to have a good word with her. Why is she doing this to my brother? After all, he’s the biological father of the child in her belly. Dad, where is she locked up now?"

"In a decent cell."

"I’ll go talk to her later."

"It’s no use; don’t waste your energy on her. She’s obstinate." The First Lady said resentfully, "If it weren’t for my precious grandson, I really would want to strangle her."

"I still have to give her a couple of slaps; otherwise, I can’t swallow this anger!"

The President frowned, "You shouldn’t always run back here and there. Put your efforts into Charles Sharp; building a rapport with him is more crucial than anything else."

"In Dad’s eyes, a married daughter is like spilled water. Can’t I go back to Ningham this afternoon?"

"Dad doesn’t mean that. Look at our family: your older brother was poisoned, your second brother is blind, and you and Charles Sharp are at odds. If you’re not favored in the Sharp Clan, can the Sharp Family genuinely support our Presidential Mansion for the long term? The Palmer Family already has a big rift with us now."

Lucy Eaton nodded, "Dad, I understand."

After eating, she asked the secretary to take her to see Flora Palmer. The First Lady nodded, and the secretary took her there.

Once inside, she asked the secretary to leave. Because someone was standing guard outside, the secretary left.

Closing the door, Lucy Eaton looked at Flora Palmer lying on the bed. She walked closer, hardly daring to believe the feverish and unclear girl before her was the once stunning Flora Palmer.

"Flora Palmer?" Lucy Eaton saw her face was flushed and touched her forehead, discovering it was frighteningly hot.

She had a high fever.

Lucy Eaton strode to the door and shouted angrily at the guard, "Didn’t you know she has a high fever? She’s carrying my brother’s child, the future little lord. If anything happens to her, do you not value your lives?"

Hearing this, the guard hurriedly said, "I’ll get a doctor right away."

Since Flora Palmer was pregnant, medication was discouraged, and intravenous fluids were minimized. Thus, the doctor employed physical cooling.

In an hour, the fever subsided.

When Flora Palmer slowly opened her eyes, she saw her sitting by the bed.

Just as she was about to speak, Lucy Eaton gripped her hand tightly, and in a low voice, she said, "I’m here under the Young Master’s orders to rescue you. I’m not the real Sophie Bennett. Later, you’ll leave wearing Sophie Bennett’s mask."

Hearing it was someone from her side coming to rescue her, Flora Palmer’s spirit lifted significantly. She knew Jacob Green would not ignore her.

"What about you?"

"You’ll pretend to be you with your appearance, and once you’re safe, I’ll figure out a way to escape from here."

She took out another mask identical to Flora Palmer’s from her purse and asked softly, "Who did this to you?"

"It was Arthur Bennett."

Lucy Eaton first went to the washroom to put on the Flora Palmer look-alike mask, tidied up, and came out to help her put on the one she just took off.

They exchanged clothes.

"But you don’t have any injuries on your face..."

"It’s okay; I can disguise myself." Lucy Eaton took out makeup, and under Flora Palmer’s shocked gaze, she quickly turned her face bruised and swollen, looking similar to Flora Palmer’s real injuries.

After tidying up, she explained the escape route and car license plate numbers to Flora Palmer, giving her Sophie Bennett’s car keys.

"I’ve prepared a new phone for you in the car. After driving to Ningham, call our Young Master. You know his number, right?"

"I know; it’s easy to remember."

"Yes, remember my words. Don’t contact your family until our Young Master says you can."

"I’ve got it."

"This is your only chance to leave the Presidential Mansion and never come back." Lucy Eaton gave her a hug. "Be sure not to show any nerves when you leave, just act like it’s your own home. Don’t slip up; otherwise, I will surely die here."

Flora Palmer nodded solemnly, "I’m psychologically capable; don’t worry."

"Go on."

The door closed, and the room returned to a state of extreme dimness.

Lucy Eaton lay there resting, waiting quietly for an hour, and upon hearing no commotion, she finally exhaled.

As long as Flora Palmer had successfully left the Presidential Mansion, it was the first step to success.

She planned to stay quietly inside for two days, then devise a new plan. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

But man proposes, and God disposes.

That night, around ten o’clock, an explosion occurred at the oil depot not far from the dungeon.

Gasoline sprayed several meters from the depot, causing a rapid and extensive fire.

The surrounding area was filled with harrowing cries.

Lucy Eaton, realizing the fire, instinctively rushed to the door, but unfortunately, all the guards had gone to fight the fire outside, locking the door tightly.

She resorted to dousing quilts and blankets with cold water, wrapping them around herself and sitting motionless by the door.

The smoke was overwhelming, and despite her efforts, she found it hard to breathe.

Suddenly, a loud crash echoed. Despite being wrapped in drenched cold bedding, she felt like she was on the verge of being roasted.

Lucy Eaton put on a mask, and the only good thing about the raging fire was its quick destruction of the building.

As a wall was pushed down by the fire, she covered her head with the quilt, shielded her face with her hands, leaving only her eyes exposed, and rushed out.
