Chapter 483: Going Out To Frame Pictures.

Leo called Markus and told him to leave behind some monitoring bots at the Angkor City home, and then arrange for all the people to move over to the capital. This was necessary, he didn’t know which of the people from the military were loyal to the nation and which were brought out by the people of the opposition.

Yes, those who held power till yesterday, were now forced to sit in the opposition and could only create a ruckus. They were doing just that, pointing fingers at anything and everything. However, the Prime Minister was not an easy nut to crack either, he directly took the path of legislation. The bills were presented in public domains and the experts all stepped up to analyse the long-term impact of these bills.

Then they began to promote it and the people forward to support all these bills. The next move from the Cabinet was to present the improvised versions of these bills in the parliament. The king was the head of the house, and when the bill was presented, he went ahead with an in-house voting. Although the first bill passed, the King took a moment to tell the people of the opposition, "Leader of the Opposition, Mister Licke, you are an experienced man, so can you please consider that your actions are akin to defying the will of the people who support this bill directly. The majority of the people in the nation at this moment all want this bill to pass, and only your opposition party is standing in the way deliberately. Are you perhaps saying that the several of you have an understanding that is beyond the level of the entire nation?"

The question was spoken in a calm way but the meaning was very stern, ’Are you treating everyone as a fool?’

The opposition calmed down after this, they knew that if they wanted to exist in the Parliament, they needed to be sensible about this whole thing otherwise, let alone others, even the youth of their own groups might dispose of them. Initially, when the news of the corruption surfaced, many of the players in their ranks have been arrested, and the ones who managed to walk away freely were not fools, they knew that the Sigil Families didn’t make any moves against them deliberately.

Fear was one of the strongest deterrents and they were all afraid of the Sigil Council, and another thing that made the Sigil Council keep these people on the hook, was that they were already half dead, and would block the newcomers who wanted to step in the political galore.

The Sigil Council might look all gentle, but they had mastered the art of politics a long time ago, or they would have vanished several years ago. And the enigma among them all was none other than Cardinal Family, they appeared out of nowhere and now sat at the top, on a place where they could not be toppled over.

...

Leo sat in the living room of the new house, he knew that the decorations of the house were finalized by Snow, but he still missed something and after looking at his children he smiled and realized. The walls of this house were bare, and so he wanted to place the pictures of the family around, and he looked at the housekeeper, Bailey and said, "Miss Bailey, do you have any idea where I can find a shop to get a few pictures framed?"

Bailey nodded and said, "Sir, you can find the shop in the city centre. Is there anything special? I can get it done for you."

Leo shook his head and replied, "No, I would need to get around the city from now since, Snow is working here, just tell me where can I find a decent studio? I will handle it myself."

Bailey nodded and after that Leo said, "Also, please remind the rest of the staff and the security team that my mother-in-law would be coming over as well in the evening."

The housekeeper nodded in understanding, at this moment, Lily came over and said, "Baba, Elle and Jules fell asleep after Alpha looked after them. Are you not going to handle them anymore?"

Leo smiled and replied, "I will, it is just that today Alpha asked me to let him do this task, he wanted to affirm if the algorithm that helped him with handling the babies was accurate. That was all, and he has been finding all sorts of things to do in the house these past few days. So, that is why I told him to handle some things if he didn’t mind."

Lily nodded and replied, "I didn’t expect that the new technology would enable the bots to take care of the children. However, I was wondering, would this advancement cause trouble for the people in the world? I mean what if the people using the bots grew careless and let the bots look after the children more and more."

Leo nodded in understanding, he was kind of feeling proud that his daughter was able to think down this line, and replied, "This is why we have a protocol, the parents need to handle the children themselves, unless they are clinically unfit, they will not get away with the bot being there, and the laws have been introduced to make sure that the people don’t grow dependant on the robots."

Lily nodded before she said, "I was reading that news article by the Awakening, and found that such laws are really necessary, if the robots find the parent to be unavailable after a set time, they file a police complaint and directly call for the services."

Leo hummed and said, "Since today, Alpha is at the baby duty, how about we go outside?"

Lily agreed and asked, "Baba, how are we going to bring all our cars over here?"

Leo smiled, he knew that she wanted to know about her karts and stuff, he said, "They are being loaded in the truck by Aunt Clara, they will come over in a week, till than we have one car left behind by Ma for us to use."

Lily nodded, the security team was coming over in the night, but still Leo took his weapon with him, and the two of them rushed out of the house. At the gate they were stopped, and when their identity was confirmed, the head of security happened to be sitting at the checkpoint and asked, "Sir, shall I assign a few guards to take you outside?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "No, you don’t have to worry, I am packing a piece, and have enough skills to handle things, also I doubt anyone would try to make a move in the open."

Jamal smiled and nodded before Leo drove away, and Lily frowned as she said, "I don’t get a good feeling from this man, why so?"

Lily shrugged her shoulders, and said, "I don’t know, he seems to be a too much of a goody two shoes, that is not suitable for someone who works security. No? I mean, if someone dared to smile in our compound, Uncle Jock would kill them with the drills."

Leo smiled, he didn’t reply instantly, but he said, "Well, you see, these people might be trying to put in a good impression with us because his boss is your Ma."

The little girl sighed, "Diplomacy is so complicated."

Leo hummed before they drove out of the compound and headed to the city centre. Leo was following the navigation from the communicator; it had connected to the car infotainment system and was projecting the destination path on maps. After an hour, they arrived at the basement of the shopping mall.

The young man parked in a vacant spot before they took the elevator to reach the second floor where they found a nice studio filled with photo frames. Lily looked around and just then a young lady standing behind the counter smiled at them and asked, "Hello, welcome to the Destiny Studio. How can I help you?"

Leo smiled and said, "I would like you to frame some pictures for me."

The lady nodded, and then Leo began to produce some of the pictures from his mobile phone memory and the lady behind the counter began to process them before she sighed, "These are taken on the smart cameras? No?"

Leo nodded and the young lady replied, "While the advanced tech is good, but it has taken a sure fall by removing the human factor in photography."

Leo thought about it and asked, "Is this your family business?"

The lady nodded and Leo asked, "Can you tell me if the photography business has taken a fall?"

The counter lady was confused but she still sighed and replied, "Well, it is because we cannot afford the cameras from the Cardinal Family, otherwise it would not have been so bad."

Leo nodded and then said, "I see."

He sensed Lily tugging on his sleeve and he bowed down a little before the little lady whispered, "Baba, can you do something? Look they have clicked all good pictures."

Leo wanted to say that it would take time, when suddenly he heard a notification in the system, ’Ping!’

Leo knew that a new task had appeared for him.
