Apocalypse - Infinite Resource System
Chapter 129: Grudge
Leonard was also looking at the chat channel. When he saw the picture Waldo posted, he initially felt a bit envious. After all, it had been so long since they had eaten anything but boiled meat dipped in salt. After a long time, who could bear it? He wasn’t lacking meat; what he lacked was the delicious, aromatic kind!
When he saw another survivor successfully buy a grilled chicken leg from Waldo, he also became interested.
[Chat Channel]
Leonard: Hey, do you still have any extra grilled chicken legs? I want to buy two.
Waldo turned to Alanna to confirm, "Alanna, is this the person?"
Alanna, who was munching on chicken wings, leaned over to check the chat messages and said grumpily, "It’s this Leonard! He still wants to buy chicken legs? Hmph! Waldo, let’s not sell to him!"
But Waldo had a different idea and smiled. "Mr. Leonard, right? No problem! We have plenty of grilled chicken legs here, and if you want them, I’ll sell them to you."
Leonard didn’t know whether Waldo did it intentionally or just made a typo. After thinking about it, they didn’t have any previous issues, so there shouldn’t be a reason for him to pick a fight. He decided to let it go and pretend nothing happened.
Leonard: Leonard, my name is Leonard! I’ve sent you the trade request. Five raw chicken legs for one grilled chicken leg, right? I’ll give you ten raw chicken legs! Twenty raw chicken legs in total!
Waldo couldn’t help but chuckle. He didn’t refuse the unexpected fortune that came knocking at his door.
Okay, okay. Open the trade window, and I’ll send you the two grilled chicken legs.
Leonard opened the trade window and saw the two grilled chicken legs Waldo had placed in the preset bar.
[Grilled Chicken Leg x2]
Leonard put in twenty raw chicken legs, which he voluntarily offered as trade items. For him, it was nothing worth mentioning. Only when the price was high, could this grilled chicken leg be worthy of his status. This money was well-spent!
Leonard received the grilled chicken legs. Without taking them out, he could already smell their fragrance. Thinking about the boiled meat he had eaten before, he couldn’t help but curse how tasteless it was. Finally, he could indulge himself!
Leonard opened his backpack and took out the grilled chicken legs, but he was immediately furious. The two chicken legs were covered in dust and completely inedible. There were even footprints on them! It was obvious that someone deliberately dirtied them to prevent him from enjoying the grilled chicken legs!
Leonard was irritated, and he tore off his tie.
He knew he had been played.
Treated like a clown, made a fool of!
"Waldo, Waldo, fuck you!" Leonard cursed in anger.
He then immediately vented his frustration on the chat channel.
[Chat Channel]
Leonard: Waldo, get the hell out! You have some nerve, daring to sell me dirty grilled chicken legs? Do you know who I am?!
Afterward, he posted pictures of the two dirty grilled chicken legs on the chat channel.
Refund!
Waldo leisurely stood up and replied to the messages.
"Yeah, I know, how could I not know, Mr. Leod! Oh, it was just an accident; they got dirty. You can wash them, and they’ll be fine. No big deal."
Looking at these messages, Leonard became even more convinced that Waldo was intentionally messing with him.
"Just a little dirty? There’s a huge footprint on them! Do you think I’m blind?"
Austin: Oh, they’re fighting, they’re fighting!
Nathan: Just watching the drama unfold! You were acting so high and mighty earlier, and now you’re getting what you deserve, haha.
Malon: Tsk tsk, you’ve managed to provoke Leonard, Waldo. You must really have a death wish.
Waldo and Leonard were having a dispute in the chat channel, naturally attracting a lot of onlookers and troublemakers. Some survivors from City 25 also chimed in, revealing Leonard’s identity, which seemed quite extraordinary.
Waldo saw that he couldn’t hide the truth any longer and decided to come clean.
"Leod, I’ll just say it straight. I stepped on those chicken legs. What can you do about it?"
Leonard: So it’s true! Did I offend you? Are you out of your mind?!
Anyone else would have been puzzled. They bought some grilled chicken legs from a stranger and even paid extra money. Yet, the chicken legs they received were inedible. Who wouldn’t feel frustrated?
Waldo: Hehe, Alanna is my wife. Do you remember what you said to her just now? You haven’t forgotten, have you?
Leonard burst into laughter and replied sarcastically, "Oh, that little mouthy girl from before? Hah, I couldn’t care less!"
Waldo’s eyes narrowed with a hint of coldness. He had decided to take action. "I’ll remember everything you said today."
Leonard brushed it off with indifference. "Hah, I’ll remember you? Why bother with such an ordinary name? You can find hundreds of people with the same name. Not worth my attention."
In the next moment, Waldo dropped a bombshell that shook City 22: "You don’t need to remember my name, just remember the ID 10086."
The ID 10086 was undoubtedly a big boss-level existence in City 22. With a single blade and a suit of battle armor, they could slay all their enemies with ease, instilling fear in everyone.
If it weren’t for Waldo single-handedly gaining the respect of all survivors in City 22, he wouldn’t have been promoted as the representative in the face of Leonard’s provocation.
Bald: Damn! Is your real name this ID, 10086?
Ford: He does have a similar vibe.
At this point, Leonard recorded a video and posted it on the chat channel. He wasn’t afraid of exposing his identity and had full confidence in his background. Even in City 25, nobody dared to mess with him.
City’s No. 1 survivor? Stop kidding!
In the video, the man had slightly messy hair, a slightly wrinkled collar, but an unyielding demeanor. He pointed at the camera and said, "Waldo, you’re doing great! Today, we’ve become sworn enemies. If you’re a real man, don’t chicken out. Let’s settle this after the meteor shower ends!"
Waldo responded with an emoji of a black cat crying, but then it turned around and smiled, saying, "I’m so scared, just kidding, I’m pretending!"
The implication was clear.
Leonard didn’t say much more and just gave a cold smile before closing the chat channel.
"Waldo, I will make you pay with your life!"
