Seoha’s POV

The first day without Taesan is going really bad.

I keep trying to keep him out, but...I don’t know how to unlove him.

I don’t open our bond link, but I spend hours online, watching almost every fashion show that he has ever attended.

Why is he so handsome? his dark messy hair, his overpowering frame, the way he wears those frameless glasses, the way he sits, and the way he manspreads.

’So handsome’ my omega whines as a particular second in the video shows Taesan frowning at a design.

I sigh longingly, rewinding the video to that part again, the alpha is watching the show with intent but he’s unhappy.

Even when he’s not the focus in the video, he still stands out so much, like he was born to stand out.

Kang Mountain, that name suits him so well.

"Seoha, are you awake?" my best friend calls from outside, startling me and making me stutter a hurried, ’yes’.

"Get up! I will make your single omega life fun" Minjae barges into the room and I take the video away immediately.

He will kill me if he catches me looking at anything Taesan or Mountain Atelier related.

"Huh?" I ask and Minjae poses.

The omega is wearing a suspiciously bright smile, and I sit up, feeling better and almost completely healed.

"What are you planning?" I ask and he sighs dramatically.

"I am pregnant for a runaway alpha, you are marked by an asshole, we will drown ourselves in happiness and dopamine till we pass out" Minjae says waving his hand wildly and I grimace.

Minjae has always been wild since we were kids, and his idea of fun scares me, anything he calls fun can make a normal person pass out.

"We are going on a date" he adds calmly, still wearing that smile.

"Minjae, just a date?" I ask and he gasps, "what is that question supposed to mean?" he asks and I shake my head.

"It means I don’t trust you" I say and he gives me a playful side eye.

"We are going sky diving" he says, sounding even more calm.

"What?" I yell in shock.

"I’m kidding, I swear we’re just going on a date, we are visiting an animal café and just having pastries" he says, holding his hands up and I squint my eyes at him.

"Don’t give me that look, and don’t think that I don’t know you’re thinking about that jerk, you smell pathetic" he says and waves his hands in the air.

I blush at his words and hide my face in the bed.

"I’m doing my best not to think of him" I murmur and Minjae pats my head, "it’s okay, I’m still not over Seungmin and he didn’t even mark me" he says softly. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

His words make me look up at him.

"But don’t even think I will ever let you go to him; I have managed this far without Seungmin, you can do better" he says and hits me with a pillow.

I pout and let him hit me.

"Get up, get up, time to go before my cravings kick in and I take us to a supermarket for raw cucumber" the pregnant omega says and rubs his stomach, and I laugh as I get out of the bed

It doesn’t take long for me to get dressed and ready to leave with him.

I borrowed one of his clothes, a cute white shirt and blue jeans, and in less than an hour, we are at the restaurant.

"Isn’t this good?" Minjae asks as he shoves a doughnut in my face and I move back before he pushes it into my mouth.

"Calm down, mom" I say before taking the doughnut out of his hand, "I know how to eat" I say and he raises a brow.

"I’m practicing how I’ll be a mom" he says with his tone and gestures are exaggerated.

"You will have to stop being so sassy first of all, Minnie" I tell him while laughing.

"Fuck off" he sticks his tongue out and flips his imaginary long hair, but stops mid-way when he spots someone.

"Hey, that’s the man that introduced me to this café yesterday after work" Minjae says and I straighten my back to find the person.

"No, there, the one behind the counter, that one" he directs me and my eyes widen as I take in the person’s appearance.

The man is handing out a cup of coffee to a customer, his small ghost tattoo is showing and so is his single painted fingernail.

That’s the stranger that drove me to the mansion, Hanbin-ssi.

"That man...I know him" I say and Minjae looks surprised, "wait did he target me because of you...is love blooming behind my back?" he asks while wiggling his brow.

"Don’t say weird things" I mutter, putting the coffee straw into my mouth.

Seeing him again makes me feel stupid for just getting in the car of a stranger.

Now that he specially chose to invite Minjae, it makes me question myself, how did I let him drive me without any safety measure?

The man looks up and when he finds us staring, he waves and turns to say something to his coworker.

Is he coming over here? Is he part of the mafia too? Will Taesan protect me if I tell him?

"Are you blushing?" Minjae teases and I cringe, of course I’m blushing, I’m blushing out of embarrassment!

"Oh goddess, why did I choose to come here with you?" I mutter under my breath and he chuckles, "because I’m fun" he says.

"Hello, I’m Hanbin" the man introduces himself with a bow.

He seems too kind and calm to be a mafia member...

"Hello, Hanbin-ssi, I didn’t know you work here" Minjae says brightly and Hanbin gives a half smile, "yes, it’s nice to see you take my invitation, how are the pastries?" he asks.

"They are really nice, Seoha says he has met you before" my best friend says and I bow awkwardly.

"How is your leg, Seoha-ssi?" he asks me softly and I bow again, "it’s much better, thank you"

"You know about his leg?" Minjae asks with concern, and I wince, hoping Hanbin doesn’t mention the car ride, Minjae will really kill me for letting it happen.

"Yes, it was quite painful looking, nice to see you’re okay, enjoy your visit and feel free to ask me for anything" he nods towards the counter.

"Thank you" Minjae and I say politely and as soon as he leaves, Minjae turns to me with a stern look.

"The truth, now" he says and I sigh.

Best friends, really, they just know you too well.
