Chapter 17: A Cyclone of Flying Piranha!? Part-1.
With no time to waste on complaining, Zephyr hurriedly used his massive scale shield to start digging a hole in the ground by using it like a shovel.
"Fck! Fck! I have to hurry!"
Sweat trailed down Zephyr’s face as he clumsily started digging a hole.
As a random college student, who had only ever worked as a cook in a restaurant, Zephyr had never learned the noble art of digging holes in the ground!
He had never worked in any construction-type jobs and had never really used shovels properly for work!
He was just a normal person with a normal student life; all he did was study lazily and learn some random cooking recipes at most!
’If I had known such a day would come, I would have joined the military just to gain experience in all kinds of things!’
Zephyr had heard that they teach you all kinds of survival skills when you are in the military, and you even have to sometimes dig trenches all by yourself, so it was definitely a good place to get experience.
But there are no ’ifs’ in reality.
Time does not stop for anyone, and it certainly does not like giving people a chance to rewind time and correct their past mistakes.
Zephyr also had no way to change what he had done in the past, and thus all he could do was struggle desperately against this cruel fate of his.
’Oh, goddess of luck, what grudge do you have against me? Why must you always attack me just when I have my guard down for a moment?’
While lamenting his bad luck in his mind, Zephyr hurriedly dug a hole in the ground with his crude ’shovel.’
If it was his previous body, he likely couldn’t have dug a big enough hole in the ground to hide himself, but with his current insane physical strength, many superhuman feats were possible!
Using the massive scale like a shovel and taking advantage of the fact that the sand here was just piled loose ash that didn’t seem to take much effort to scoop out, Zephyr dug a big hole in the ground in just a matter of a few minutes.
At the moment, Zephyr didn’t even have enough belief points to pull for a clue, so he had no other choice but to do what he could to survive.
"It’s a gamble, but I have no other choice..."
With a determined look on his face, Zephyr jumped into the hole and immediately placed the massive scale shield above to close the mouth of the hole.
With sheer brute strength Zephyr punched a hole through the shell and used the hole to pass his palm out so that he could barely hold on to the scale and keep it stable.
The scale was not a properly made shield; it was just a random broken scale of the snake monster that Zephyr had picked up for himself.
It had no handles to hold onto, and it certainly wasn’t heavy enough to stop the massive cyclone’s wind pressure from blowing it away.
Thus, Zephyr had no other choice but to make a hole in the center of the shell so that he could pass his hand through it and hold onto it to prevent it from being blown away by wind and those strange monsters.
"This better be worth it..."
As Zephyr gritted his teeth in frustration, the massive cyclone slowly made its way to him.
[Perfect Stealth!]
As the cyclone came closer, Zephyr activated his stealth, held the shield down with all his might, and waited for the chaos to happen while keeping a firm eye on his BP counter.
’Come on, come on, fill up faster, fill up faster!’
*BOOOM!!!* *BOOOM!!!* BOOOM!!!
While Zephyr hoped for his BP to increase faster, hundreds of thousands of circular creatures that had no limbs at all and only a big mouth and two big eyes that glowed deep red started hitting the ground like missiles!
*ORRRIIII!!!!* ORRRRRIIIIIEEEEE!!!
As those weird ball-like monsters hit the shells due to being swung by the cyclone’s powerful wind force, they screeched with a very uncomfortable voice, and hearing that sound, Zephyr’s ear and nose started bleeding!
"What!?... ugh... Is this... a mental-wave type attack!?"
Zephyr’s eyes went bloodshot as a horrible headache assaulted him, and it felt like his brain was about to explode from sheer pain and pressure!
His nose and ears bled, and even his grip on the shield became unstable for a second!
’Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t!’
Having a powerful physique at the start gave Zephyr an illusion that he might have a better survival chance compared to others and he might really be able to avoid dying.
But reality was harsh.
The game seemed to have given him this physique because it was planning to raise the difficulty of the game accordingly too!
If having a better start than others was his privilege, then that privilege had a ’cost’!
And the ’cost’ was facing even harsher difficulty than any other participant that had come before him!
No power comes free; it all has a cost behind it, and Zephyr realized this reality quite fast as his illusions were shattered by a clear slap to the face by the horror game.
*EO!EO! EO! EO!!*
Strange noises assaulted Zephyr’s head as hundreds of orb-like creatures that seemed even bigger than their other counterparts swarmed over to the broken shell due to the smell of blood!
Although Zephyr’s ’perfect stealth’ was a very powerful ability, it was being limited by his own physical capabilities.
Even with his powerful talents, he was still just a normal human being with no extraordinary powers, and thus even the stealth skill was only working at a mere fraction of its real power! 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
For the current him, it was still ’perfect’ stealth, but due to his own low life level, the skill was also stuck at just mortal capabilities.
Thus, the moment those creatures smelled Zephyr’s blood, its effects became null for them!
