Upon hearing this, Gu Anxi chuckled, "What else?"

Before she finished speaking, Zhou Yunchen approached with quiet footsteps. Arriving at her side, he silently lit a white candle for Bo Qing. Then, he turned to Beauty Song Jia. "Come back with me."

Song Jia remained on her knees.

Zhou Yunchen gave a cold laugh. "Bo Qing was a member of the Bo Family. It should be a Bo Family member mourning for him. Why are you kneeling here without any proper standing?"

"It’s none of your business." Song Jia pursed her lips, showing no intention of engaging with him.

Zhou Yunchen reached forward to pull her up. Song Jia swung her hand at him, causing him to stumble backward and bump into the wall. A piercing pain shot through his arm.

Song Jia froze for a moment but said nothing, still kneeling.

Gu Anxi, unable to bear the sight, approached Zhou Yunchen. "Are you okay?"

Zhou Yunchen shook his head. "I’m fine."

She helped him sit down. "I’ll get some spray medicine for you."

Zhou Yunchen nodded.

Gu Anxi returned to the Orchid Room, where she found her uncle Bo Xichen quietly sitting in the study, not doing anything, just maintaining a silent vigil.

She slowly approached him, softly calling out.

Bo Xichen lifted his eyes, managing a faint smile.

She nestled against him, lightly hugged him. "Uncle, do you feel like crying?"

Bo Xichen shook his head, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. "I’m a man; I don’t cry."

"It’s okay to cry." Little Cream leaned against him. "Just this once."

Bo Xichen gently patted her in return. "Weren’t you accompanying Song Jia? Why are you here?"

Gu Anxi went "Oh," then said, "It’s Zhou Yunchen; he got hurt a bit. Do you have any medicine here, Uncle?"

Bo Xichen helped her up and found a small, pale-green medicine bottle. It looked quite expensive. He placed it in her hand. "Let’s go together. I need to see Father."

Little Cream let out a soft sound, her voice small. "Father Bo must be really sad."

Bo Xichen remained silent, holding her hand as they walked. They parted ways at a fork in the path.

Little Cream stood there, pulling his hand once more. "Uncle, don’t be too sad."

Bo Xichen gave a faint smile but didn’t say anything. Yet, she knew he was indeed quite upset.

She stood silently, watching his retreating figure for a long time before finally heading to Bo Qing’s residence...

Over there, Song Jia remained kneeling while Zhou Yunchen slowly seated himself on a nearby rosewood chair, lightly touching his shoulder. He glanced at Song Jia and said disapprovingly, "You carrying on like this—do you think he’d know, or that it would change anything? If he truly cherished you, he wouldn’t have chosen to end his life. He might have cared for someone in this world, but that person definitely wasn’t you."

Song Jia pressed her elegant lips together. "None of your business."

"Alright, alright. It’s not my business. You think I want to meddle, is that it?" Getting up, Zhou Yunchen paced a bit before continuing, "He’s just a man who didn’t care much about you, yet look at you, acting as though you’ve lost your husband."

Song Jia raised her eyes, glaring at him. "Don’t you dare speak about him like that."

Zhou Yunchen sneered. "Was I wrong? If he loved you, he would have wanted to settle down, to create a home for you. But he did nothing of the sort. What he cared about was his own pride and the disdain he’d faced since childhood."

Song Jia stared at him fixedly, then after a moment, stubbornly turned her head away. "If you can’t stand the sight of me, if you think I’m pathetic, then you can leave. I didn’t ask you to stay with me."

Zhou Yunchen was about to lose his temper when Little Cream appeared, leaning against the doorway. "If we all left, wouldn’t you be scared?"

Song Jia wanted to say she wouldn’t be, but the words wouldn’t come out.

She was, in fact, somewhat scared. Bo Qing’s residence had an old-fashioned decor that felt rather gloomy.

Guessing she was indeed scared, Gu Anxi smiled faintly. She went over to Zhou Yunchen and had him take off his coat and unbutton his shirt so she could apply the medicine.

Zhou Yunchen glanced at her, then raised his arm. Raising it was clearly difficult, suggesting the injury was not trivial. Gu Anxi helped him directly. The sight left Song Jia somewhat stunned...

Were they that close? They weren’t blood-related siblings, yet they were as intimate as family. Gu Anxi wasn’t his real sister! *She* was... she was the one who was like a sister to him!

However, she kept her thoughts to herself. All she did was stare... glaring at them.

Zhou Yunchen, to avoid further hassle, took off his shirt completely, revealing a white undershirt. He sat there as Gu Anxi rubbed some green ointment onto his shoulder, massaging it vigorously and with considerable effort.

Zhou Yunchen was rather stoic, generally bearing pain without a sound. But when Little Cream started to apply more force, he finally couldn’t help but cry out, "Easy, easy! My shoulder’s going to be wrecked!"

Little Cream stopped. "Am I being too rough? I’ll lighten up a bit."

Zhou Yunchen grunted in agreement, waiting for her to resume.

Little Cream rubbed her hands and began to massage with all her might once more. After just two strokes, Zhou Yunchen couldn’t help but cry out again, his cries resembling a pig being slaughtered, completely devoid of his usual dignity.

Song Jia couldn’t handle it any longer. She shot up from her knees, pushed Gu Anxi away, and said, "I’ll do it."

Unable to hold back, she snapped at Gu Anxi, "Did you do that on purpose?"

Gu Anxi looked at her, appearing good-natured. "Alright, alright. If you think you can do it, then go ahead."

She went over, added some incense oil for Bo Qing, and silently took a seat to one side.

Song Jia watched her for a moment, then went to get the medicine and began applying it to Zhou Yunchen’s shoulder. She was meticulous, and the pressure was just right. Pleased, Zhou Yunchen commented, "That’s much better. Anxi almost killed me earlier."

Song Jia huffed lightly. "She has no heart."

Gu Anxi shot her a glance. "I’m not as good as you at taking care of people."

Song Jia was angered once again.

At this point, Zhou Yunchen seemed to feel much better. After putting on his shirt and coat, he addressed Gu Anxi, "Don’t give her a hard time anymore. It’s getting late, and I can’t stay here indefinitely. I have business to attend to tomorrow. Could you accompany me home? Your Sister-in-law Congwen is probably still at home waiting up."

His words felt like a dagger to Song Jia’s heart. What did he mean by ’Sister-in-law Congwen’? Was she Gu Anxi’s sister-in-law? Pah, how shameless!

Before Gu Anxi could respond, Song Jia interjected, "I’ll take you home. I’ll come back later."

Zhou Yunchen gave a faint smile. "Okay."

Turning to Gu Anxi, he said, "Then, let Song Jia accompany me."

Little Cream shrugged, looking regretful. "Alright then."

Song Jia walked ahead. Before leaving, Zhou Yunchen gave Gu Anxi a meaningful look—

Their performance was good; both sides cooperated well!

Little Cream: Old partners! A single look is all it takes!

Zhou Yunchen then mouthed a few words to her: "I’ll thank you later."

Little Cream just smiled and blew a kiss his way, which Song Jia happened to see as she turned around at that exact moment—

This made Song Jia think: Gu Anxi has feelings for Zhou Yunchen!!!
