Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 129 - 126: Jiang Silu: Will He Make Trouble for Dad?
Father Minghao looked at Jiang Ming awkwardly, trying to smooth over the tense atmosphere. "Teacher Jiang, we were truly in the wrong before. If you’re still upset, how about this? I’ll bow and apologize to you as well."
As he spoke, he bowed a full ninety degrees in a solemn apology.
Huang Minghao’s mother did the same.
The dean of discipline chimed in from the side, "Teacher Jiang, the boy knows he was wrong, and his parents have realized their mistake. Why don’t you just help them out?"
Jiang Ming felt helpless.
He was telling the truth, so why didn’t these people believe him?
He really didn’t know Lu Fan well.
He had only met him twice.
He really wanted to just turn around and leave, letting the family of three waste their time here.
But then he thought about how the dean would have to clean up his mess after he left, which would surely be blown out of proportion.
Jiang Ming really didn’t want to help. After all, Father and Mother Minghao’s previous unforgiving attitude had been disgusting.
But if he made things too tense, he wasn’t sure he could even keep his job.
So he said, "Please, stand up. I’ll go see my sister after work."
Jiang Ming didn’t make any firm promises; he just gave Father and Mother Minghao a glimmer of hope.
Besides, he was just going to see his sister, not his former brother-in-law.
’Playing a little word game like this should be fine, right?’
But Father Minghao didn’t see it that way.
Since Jiang Ming said he was going to see his sister, that was the same as seeing his brother-in-law!
’There’s no way his sister and brother-in-law aren’t together, right?!’
Father Minghao immediately brightened up. "Great, great! We’ll be counting on you, Teacher Jiang."
Then he looked at Huang Minghao and warned him again, "If your teacher tells me you’re bullying your classmates again, I’ll break both your legs next time!"
Hearing this, Minghao’s mother grew anxious. "He won’t, he won’t. He’s very well-behaved now."
She quickly comforted Huang Minghao, stroking his head. "Right, Minghao? You won’t bully your classmates anymore, right?"
By now, Huang Minghao was terrified of his father, so he naturally nodded vigorously.
As long as he didn’t get hit, he would agree to anything.
A short while later, Huang Minghao’s family left.
Jiang Ming was about to head back to his office.
The dean of discipline took the opportunity to say, "Ah, Teacher Jiang..."
"What is it, Dean?" Jiang Ming asked.
"It’s like this. The principal got your brother-in-law’s contact information last time, right? I was thinking, the principal is a very busy man. If your brother-in-law has any children of friends or relatives who want to enroll, he can contact me." As he spoke, the dean handed Jiang Ming his business card.
Jiang Ming felt a bit awkward looking at it.
But not wanting the dean to lose face, he had no choice but to take the card. "Okay, I’ll give it to him when I see him."
"Then I’ll leave it in your hands, Teacher Jiang," the dean said with a smile.
Jiang Ming left right after.
Back at his desk in the office, he felt troubled.
Logically, he shouldn’t be pleading Huang Minghao’s family’s case.
After all, their previous behavior had been absolutely abominable.
But he couldn’t stand up to the family’s emotional blackmail, and with the dean egging him on, he had no choice but to pretend to agree.
He didn’t have Lu Fan’s contact information.
Besides, whether Lu Fan was willing to cooperate with Father Minghao’s company was his business.
What right did he have to make demands of others?
Thinking of this, Jiang Ming started to feel regret.
He regretted his hesitation just now.
He should have just rejected Huang Minghao’s family outright.
’Forget it, I’d better ask my sister.’
Ever since they were children, whenever he faced a difficult problem, his first instinct was always to ask Jiang Yixia for help.
And Jiang Yixia could always quickly analyze the pros and cons and find a suitable solution.
Although this matter involved Lu Fan, meaning Jiang Ming would probably get an earful from Jiang Yixia, he had no other choice but to turn to his sister right now.
Just then, Jiang Yixia happened to send him a message, so he took the opportunity to reply, [Sis, how about I come over to your place after work? I have something to tell you.]
Jiang Yixia: [Okay.]
Jiang Yixia originally thought Jiang Ming just wanted to briefly tell her about what had happened over the past two days, nothing major.
But it wasn’t until Jiang Ming arrived at the flower shop and confessed everything that had just happened that she realized something was wrong.
Jiang Yixia frowned, saying angrily, "How could you just agree to that?"
Hearing this, Jiang Ming was filled with regret. "Sis, I know I shouldn’t have agreed. But I didn’t fully agree. I just said I’d discuss it with you."
"What’s the use of discussing it with me? The company belongs to Lu Fan. He has the right to cooperate with whomever he wants. Never mind you, even I have no right to interfere. And there’s no way I’m going to go begging him over this," Jiang Yixia replied sternly.
Jiang Ming immediately deflated. He said helplessly, "Sis, you don’t understand the situation. His dad made the son kneel and apologize, the two of them were bowing nonstop, and the dean was fanning the flames from the side. I... I’ve never been one to have strong opinions. I’ve always listened to you my whole life."
Jiang Yixia was clearly at a loss for words with her younger brother.
But what was done was done. The most important thing now was to find a solution.
She glanced at the pastry shop across the street. As it happened, Lu Fan wasn’t there today.
’He’s probably still taking care of Jiang Silu.’
In that case, Jiang Yixia couldn’t bother him over WeChat for such a trivial matter concerning her brother.
Besides, she had always wanted nothing to do with Lu Fan.
If she went to him because of this, there was no telling how smug he would get.
The more Jiang Yixia thought about it, the angrier she got. Finally, she snapped at Jiang Ming, "Look what you’ve done!"
"Sis, I’m sorry, I was wrong. But what should I do now?" Jiang Ming said helplessly.
"You go back first. I’ll think of something. If it really comes to it, just refuse them outright. Tell the student’s parents that you have no right to interfere in your brother-in-law’s company matters," Jiang Yixia replied.
Jiang Ming could only nod in response.
A moment later, it dawned on him. He asked nervously, "Sis, you just said ’my brother-in-law’... Don’t tell me you and that bastard are really getting back together?"
"Get back together, my foot!" Jiang Yixia cut him off. "I am not getting back together with him. So don’t even think about using your sister to get favors from that bastard. I’m drawing a clear line with him, and you need to as well."
"Of course I’m not trying to get favors from him! I’d be thrilled if you didn’t get back together with him," Jiang Ming explained. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
But then he added, "However, he did help me a lot with this situation. Logically, I should put in a good word for him, but I’m afraid you’ll get hurt. Even though that guy promised me he wouldn’t hurt you again, I don’t believe him."
Jiang Yixia was puzzled. "When did he promise you that?"
"That day. Before I left, I asked him if he could stop hurting you, and he said he promised he wouldn’t," Jiang Ming replied.
Jiang Yixia’s face flushed red. She lightly tapped Jiang Ming on the head. "Are you meddling in my affairs now? Such a busybody."
"I’m just worried about you," Jiang Ming said, rubbing his head like a child who’d been scolded.
Jiang Yixia knew her brother meant well. After a moment’s hesitation, she finally sighed. "Alright, just go home for now. I’ll try to figure something out. If I can’t, then you can just have it out with them."
"Okay." Before leaving, Jiang Ming, worried that Jiang Yixia was still angry, said in a low voice, "Okay, sis. This was my fault. I couldn’t stand up to their emotional blackmail. I was wrong."
"It’s alright, don’t blame yourself too much. I know you didn’t want to blow things up, or you’d have no place at school anymore. After all, Mom and Dad pulled a lot of strings to get you that job," Jiang Yixia comforted him.
After Jiang Ming left, she sat on her chair in a daze.
In this situation, she didn’t know what to do either.
’Should I really go find him?’
’But I made a rule for myself before: absolutely no getting entangled with Lu Fan again.’
Now, Jiang Yixia was caught in a dilemma.
「Meanwhile.」
After Jiang Ming returned to his dorm, the more he thought about it, the guiltier he felt.
He felt that he had dragged his sister into this mess.
Now Jiang Yixia didn’t know how to handle it.
After thinking it over and over, he decided to contact Jiang Silu.
He would ask his niece for help, hoping to get Lu Fan’s contact information.
Jiang Ming: [Lulu, are you busy?]
At that moment, Jiang Silu was admiring the Kung Pao Chicken and two other dishes Lu Fan had brought.
She said with some surprise, "This is amazing! I never thought you could make Kung Pao Chicken and Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce."
"Haha, it’s nothing," Lu Fan said with a laugh.
He then gestured. "Go on, try some. See if you like it."
"Mhm!"
Jiang Silu nodded, took a bite, and affirmed, "It’s delicious! Really delicious!"
"Good, then eat up."
Lu Fan leaned back on the sofa, watching Jiang Silu earnestly eating the meal he had cooked.
"Aren’t you having any?" Jiang Silu asked with concern.
"I’m not hungry. You eat."
Lu Fan was only now understanding that people who cook don’t really like to eat; they just enjoy watching others eat the food they’ve made.
The more gusto someone ate with, the happier he felt.
As Jiang Silu was happily eating the meal her dad made for her, she glanced at WeChat on her phone and replied, [Uncle, what’s up?]
Seeing Jiang Silu’s reply, Jiang Ming immediately asked, [Can you send me your dad’s contact info, or share his WeChat with me?]
Jiang Silu saw the message and froze.
’What’s going on?’
She glanced at Lu Fan first, hesitating.
Lu Fan quickly noticed Jiang Silu’s strange expression and asked curiously, "What’s wrong?"
Jiang Silu stammered for a moment before deciding to be honest. "I’m not sure what’s going on, but my uncle wants your contact information."
Her only worry was that her uncle hated her father. She feared he was furious about her dad contacting her mom or herself and wanted to cause trouble for him.
Seeing this, Lu Fan chuckled. "It’s fine. Go ahead and share my WeChat with him."
"But..." Jiang Silu said uneasily, "I’m afraid something bad will happen."
"It won’t. We’ve met before," Lu Fan said calmly.
Jiang Silu was surprised to hear that. "You’ve already met?"
"Mhm." Lu Fan nodded. "Your uncle ran into a little trouble at school, and I went with him to help sort it out."
After hearing this, Jiang Silu finally breathed a sigh of relief.
This proved her uncle wasn’t looking to cause trouble for her dad.
So, she shared Lu Fan’s WeChat with Jiang Ming.
Soon, Jiang Ming added Lu Fan.
Lu Fan saw the friend request on WeChat and accepted it.
A moment later, Jiang Ming sent a message.
[First of all, I never got to properly thank you for what happened last time, so I want to say thank you for that now. Second, I did something stupid, and I hope you can forgive me.]
