Chapter 416: Liu Ju Zheng

Lee Yi Hong was dealing with so much that Yuan Kai had seemed so distant from him ever since he had taken over the body and role of the Governor.

"Hehehe. What happened on that day?" Eunuch Xin asked.

The Governor glanced into the distance and tried to recall what happened.

His fingers drummed on the tabletop while he dug into his memories.

And after a few moments, he stopped his drumming.

"I parted with him at the end of Kai Yue Street, he headed towards Long Fu Street afterwards."

"Long Fu Street..." Eunuch Xin mumbled while he thought about what was around the area that would attract Yuan Kai.

But he wasn’t able to after he thought about it.

He might have to investigate around the area to figure it out.

"Hehehe. Let me know if something else popped into your mind." Eunuch Xin said and he disappeared from the room with a few leaps.

The Governor narrowed his eyes, gazed into the distance for a moment before he looked back at the stack of documents in front of him.

With Eunuch Xin investigating the disappearance of Yuan Kai, he was sure that the Dark Lord was back and things would be put into motion very soon.

All of this paperwork and these documents would be a distant dream for him when it happened.

...

Next day.

Lin Xuan Qi woke up to Yue Jie by his side smiling at him.

They were later than usual due to the activities from the night before.

But it was a pleasure for him and Yue Jie.

He pulled her closer to him and she snuggled into his chest.

Both of them lay there and thought about nothing but focused on each other’s presence.

The Dual Cultivation helped a lot with his cultivation and he was on the brink of reaching the Qi Concentration Level Perfected Stage.

It was the same for Yue Jie.

Lin Xuan Qi brushed his finger across her cheeks, and her skin was much smoother than before, giving out a healthy glow.

"Master Lin, it’s time for breakfast." Xiu’s voice sounded from behind the doors and he sat up from the bed.

Yue Jie bit her lower lip and did the same.

She wanted to be with him longer but knew that it would be nothing but a dream.

There was so much work to be done for him.

"Coming." Lin Xuan Qi replied to Xiu and he proceeded to wash up.

Yue Jie helped him put on a new set of clothes and she washed up afterwards.

When they were done, they went over to the dining hall.

Xue Cong gave a silent sigh of relief when she saw Lin Xuan Qi again.

She quickly shifted to the side, gesturing for Lin Xuan Qi to take his seat beside her.

He gave her a smile and did so.

"Here, have some." Xue Cong helped to pick up some of the meat from the dishes and put it onto his plate.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head at her and ate it.

"Master Lin, I will pay a visit to my old friend Liu Ju Zheng after breakfast and tell him the good news." Lee He Song chuckled and said.

Yue Jie and Yue Xin nodded their heads and were eager to see their father again.

Yue Xin wanted to go with Lee He Song but she kept quiet, knowing that it wouldn’t be too safe for now.

"Get the guest room ready for him." Lin Xuan Qi said while he glanced at Yue Jie and Yue Xin.

Yue Jie gave him a nod and replied, "It will be done."

With her reply, he glanced over at Lee He Song and said, "I will go with you."

Liu Ju Zheng was his father-in-law after all and it wouldn’t be too nice if he didn’t go personally.

Things in the factories were going fine and he expected Sima Ye to have got rid of the threats from the Six Pulse Sword Sect by now.

Lee He Song took a sip of his wine and said, "As you wish, Master Lin."

...

After breakfast, Lin Xuan Qi left with Lee He Song and headed for the place where Liu Ju Zheng was staying.

It was relatively normal with the bustling activities in the streets.

Vendors were peddling their food and wares as usual.

Pedestrians who were interested bargained with them.

However, there were also some commotions that were happening.

Some shops were being thrashed by angry groups of people.

Lin Xuan Qi didn’t recognise the shops or those who were thrashing them up.

He wasn’t sure who among them were affiliated with the Sima Family or the Six Pulse Sword Sect.

The only thing that was sure for him was that it wasn’t over yet.

When they arrived at where Liu Ju Zheng was staying, Lin Xuan Qi recognised the place immediately.

It was where he had met Lee He Song when he asked Lee He Song to join the clan.

So much had changed ever since and now, he was on the way to visit his father-in-law.

"It’s me." Lee He Song knocked on the door and it creaked open after a few moments.

Liu Ju Zheng peered from the side of the door, wary about whoever it was knocking on it.

When he saw that it was Lee He Song, his face appeared from behind the door and brightened up.

"Nice to see you again, old friend." Lee He Song said and patted the shoulder of Liu Ju Zheng.

"Xuan Qi?"

Liu Ju Zheng was surprised to see Lin Xuan Qi beside Lee He Song.

Lin Xuan Qi cupped his hands at him and said, "Hope you are doing well, father-in-law."

"Come in quick, we can talk inside." Liu Ju Zheng stretched his hand into the house, gesturing for them to enter.

Lin Xuan Qi and Lee He Song entered the house and Liu Ju Zheng quickly poured them a cup of tea.

Lin Xuan Qi saw that Liu Ju Zheng was looking better than he had been in the prison but he wouldn’t say that Liu Ju Zheng was healthy.

Being stuck in a tiny compound with not much freedom of movement must have been torturous for Liu Ju Zheng.
