Chapter 200: Chapter 200: Luck

The trees turned to ice having been frozen down to their deepest fibres. Two kilometres of the forest turned into a forest of ice.

The air itself has crystallized, the ground turned blue, the temperature dropped so low it pierced through the fur and hides of the werewolves.

However they were not severely effected, not as much as the target of the ability, the Shalaxin.

The Shalaxin stood a few centimetres from Sbu, its scythe had touched his neck and cut through his thick skin.

Fortunately he had the enchanted iron neck plate Annie had designed for every werewolf.

She had already designed an enchanted heart place, taking advantage of the regenerative ability of the werewolves.

She placed the neck plates beneath their skin, the plates were intricately designed allowing them to not hinder neck movement.

The witches enchanted them to chance size when the werewolves transformed. On top of that, they were also enchanted with the hardness and shock absorption runes.

However even without the plate, Sbu wouldn’t have died because Adrian’s heart regenerated in time.

Besides, he knew very well that neck plate would’ve had a hard time stopping an attack from that creatures scythe.

Adrian stood up, his thoughts ran a thousand in a second, without question or warning he attacked.

He could see the ice around the Shalaxin’s body cracking. Flickers of purple lightning appeared around its body.

’ It’s using its blood trait, I need to be fast.’ Sbu tried to resist but he was too slow in comparison to both of them.

Sam also rushed to their side but even he couldn’t match up, the world seemed to be moving in slow motion around Adrian.

He pushed his speed to the limit breaking the 100 Mach speed, the air burnt from the friction against his body.

The cold temperatures were snuffing the flames out behind him and everything was happening in slow motion.

None of that mattered to Adrian, if he didn’t move fast enough, one of his werewolves would die.

Adrian got close just in time as the ice shattered around the Shalaxin, lightning flared and shot in every direction.

He reached out with his claws to grab it while going for the neck with his fangs, he intended to bite it to death.

Zzzzzzzzz, they all saw a flash of lightning and stood still, BOOOOOM, the sonic booms caused by Adrian finally reached them. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

A wave of wind followed behind him ripping the frozen trees to shreds and sending ice fragments flying like bullets.

The flames caused by his speed were snuffed out before they could even spread anywhere.

However none of them minded any of that destruction and mayhem, their attention was fully on Adrian.

He stood there unmoving, at least his body did because his head was gone. Adrian’s body turned facing behind him.

There standing In front of John who has raised his shields to protect Annie was the Shalaxin.

It stood still like a statue with both of its scythe raised to the sky and its two tentacles stabbing at John’s chest.

John’s body towered over it yet he looked so small in comparison, he knew better than anybody the limit of his strength.

That attack would easily cut through his shields as strong as they are, its scythes were too sharp for him to stop.

Fortunately the Shalaxin stopped on its own then they realised on its neck was a giant wolf head with glistening silver fur.

It had cut off Adrian’s head but he had bitten it in return. ’ Good, I managed to bite it but damnit does it hurt.

Who knew getting your head cut off would hurt so much.’ Adrian had anticipated the Shalaxin cutting of his head.

He didn’t wish it but he couldn’t deny it was a possibility, especially when it used its blood trait.

It had cut off his head once, he knew how it felt and how fast and sharp its scythe were. The cut was clean, extremely clean.

Meaning even if it cut off his head, his head would most likely continue moving forward with inertia.

That what he was betting on so he used every drop of venom he had and placed it on the tip of his fangs.

As he had expected, the Shalaxin cut off his head, the momentum carried it forward and he bit its neck.

As soon as his teeth touched it, he injected every drop of venom he had on it. Even so, he didn’t expect it to work so fast.

He walked towards it, the Shalaxin was still alive but paralysed. He took his head and placed it on his neck.

Then he looked at Annie, she transformed turning back into a human, he used his lunar energy to cover her body with blinding light like a robe.

She giggled, then looked at the Shalaxin, " As expected, poison and venom are quite effective against it."

Adrian nodded, " I see, I guess that makes sense." John watched their interaction with confusion.

Suzie explained to her mate, " It’s fast John, when you increase your speed, the physical exertion increases.

To provide more oxygen to the muscles, the floor flow naturally increases, this holds true even to esper creatures.

Perhaps a few are an exception but this thing obviously was not."

Annie nodded, " This is especially true for a Shalaxin, this is a creature of speed, its entire existence is fast.

It think fast, mice fast, eat fast, its blood flow is much faster than that of average creature and so goes its metabolism.

Which is why there’s nothing alive around us, the other Gadra didn’t just run, they were eaten to death.

In fact, when it ate Adrian’s arm it didn’t even leave the bone behind, it needs a large amount of energy just to live.

Perhaps, it’s one of the reasons why they’re almost instincts now, this becomes even worse when it uses its blood trait."

" So, when I bit it in its blood trait state, the increased blood flow distributed my venom through its body even faster."

She nodded, " We were quite lucky, if it had been any of the other old races of the same level.

I’m afraid a few of us would’ve died to take it down, even with your venom, especially the larger ones."

Adrian shrugged, "Luck is part of one’s ability." He swung his claws cutting of its head.

" Bring the body." He ordered and walked off, the werewolves took the body and followed after him.
