Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2298 - 2299: Hard-Fought Battle
Perhaps because escaping control further intensified the malicious spirit collective’s hatred towards the dark entities of the Devouring World, they did not take action against Feng Yuan and his companions as they ran towards the battleground.
These malicious spirit collectives were frenziedly attacking the controlled malicious spirit collectives. Unlike Agunas and the others, the malicious spirit collectives they encountered possessed a certain degree of immortality, so the number of controlled malicious spirit collectives being liberated kept increasing.
However, Feng Yuan and his group faced a different challenge. The sheer number and fragile bodies of these malicious spirit collectives put them at a disadvantage. Feng Yuan glanced at the White Wolf Deity in front of the army of malicious spirit collectives blocking their way.
The opponent unleashed Soul Intimidation once again. This time, in addition to awakening the malicious spirit collectives, an enraged roar echoed from the distance.
"Are we close to the core?"
Feng Yuan was startled, touching his chin. He hadn’t expected to reach the core area so quickly. Despite the considerable distance they’d traveled, it shouldn’t have been this quick, considering the size of the Parallel World.
Seeing the malicious spirit collectives dispersing, Qi Chen curiously asked Feng Yuan,
"What’s wrong? Is there a problem?"
"Hmm, nothing, let’s go."
Shaking his head, Feng Yuan decided not to concern himself with the matter for the time being. Whatever it was should be ahead, and they’d find out soon enough.
"These things really are peculiar."
Veronia curiously observed the mass of malicious spirit collectives writhing together into a pulsating earth. Agunas flicked its tail and remarked,
"These things have limited intelligence. Perhaps it’s the price of their immortality."
"Who knows, but they’re certainly nauseating."
Floating in the air, Veronia gave a look of distaste towards the writhing ground. Aside from certain Divine Beasts with peculiar tastes, Veronia doubted any normal Divine Beast would accept such grotesque creatures of flesh.
Glancing at Veronia, Agunas had no interest in saying more. These entities themselves were twisted derivatives; it was impossible for them to ever appear normal.
"Something’s here!"
Suddenly, Tamur shouted, blinking and appearing not far ahead. Shadows from the Mythical Era surfaced around it, and black, vein-like entities crashed onto the Mythical Era’s shadows, making loud splattering sounds as dark slime splattered everywhere. The flesh composing the vein-like entities shattered upon collision with the shadows.
The pieces of flesh that fell to the ground quickly expanded into twisted creatures. If the previous malicious spirit collectives seemed somewhat uncomfortable, resembling slimes forcibly fused from flesh, these twisted creatures were utterly repulsive.
Though not vastly different from their original form, the subtle differences rendered these twisted creatures exceedingly grotesque, invoking nausea at just a glance.
"An ambush? They’ve underestimated us."
Summoning a Crystalline Dragon, Veronia ignored the twisted creatures and launched an attack. Even for her, the sight was unbearable. Agunas closed its eyes and waved a small claw, projecting fire-element and death-series ultimate moves, transforming into a sea of unending flames that swiftly engulfed the twisted creature horde.
In the raging flames, the twisted creature horde became even more bizarre and distorted. Contrary to Agunas’ expectations, these creatures, though not particularly powerful, endured within the sea of fire for an extended period.
"Immortality? Why do these creatures possess immortality?"
Agunas was surprised. With another wave of its claw, meteors clustered and violently rained down, forcefully elevating the ground beneath their impact. Despite the onslaught, Agunas could sense the twisted creatures surviving beneath the meteors.
"What truly troublesome beings."
Veronia, naturally, noticed this as well, though she had no intention of intervening. As these creatures stemmed from the bizarre vein-like entity, completely annihilating it should subsequently lead to their disappearance.
The Crystalline Dragon, wielding assimilation power, collided with the vein-like entity. Even after shattering and crystallizing the entire vein-like entity along with its scattered flesh, it unexpectedly reverted after a while.
"This power isn’t weaker than ours in terms of authority. It seems it truly has intervened."
Veronia observed as the vein-like entity regained form and spoke, while Tamur stood at the forefront. The Mythical Era’s shadows shielded him like a golden barrier.
Yet, for some reason, Tamur didn’t counterattack and passively accepted the vein-like entity’s assailment.
Gitalien tried utilizing spatial power to obliterate the vein-like entity. However, its spatial authority was heavily suppressed here, and even the fractured space’s range was limited. Surprisingly, the entity could remain stable within the spatial turbulence following the rupture.
"This entity is likely the Devouring World’s dark essence."
Agunas tossed the book in his hand, clapping his claws together and then pulling them apart, projecting the Time River. Its formidable power forcibly invaded the space.
The Parallel World’s power rapidly congregated to repel the Time River’s projection; however, it was notably weaker in comparison.
Within the Time River’s projection, Lorraine Tower’s silhouette gradually appeared, guarding the Time River to prevent opportunistic pollution by the opposition, which would have dire consequences.
"You dare wield the Time River this boldly, aren’t you afraid of mishaps?"
Veronia was astonished by Agunas’s brazenness. The Time River’s power was formidable, but they had refrained from using it previously due to the potential complications.
Agunas flicked its tail and replied,
"With Lorraine Tower assisting in guarding, mishaps should be prevented for now. If we fail to swiftly move through this area, I fear there might be changes."
This zone gave it a bad sensation; prolonging the engagement seemed likely to invite unforeseen changes.
Simultaneously, Agunas wasn’t acting recklessly. For the time being, the Devouring World’s darkness couldn’t pollute the Time River’s power.
However, for some reason, the entity’s power was growing swiftly. Agunas was uncertain if it was amassing power or inherently that potent.
No matter which, continuing to entangle was inadvisable for Agunas.
The Time River’s power decisively obliterated the attacking vein-like entity, even striking fiercely at its origin.
Nevertheless, the hidden darkness evaded significant injury. In reaction to thunderous roars, more vein-like entities surged forth, spewing large amounts of black slime.
Agunas dared not further invoke the Time River’s power, seeing its projection gradually fade. Veronia remarked,
"Seems like your methods aren’t that effective either."
"How about forcibly destroying this space? We shouldn’t need to worry about Feng Yuan over there. There’s nothing of concern here, even if damaged, it shouldn’t pose a problem."
Veronia, watching Tamur continuously assaulted by the vein-like entities, suggested. Uncertain of Tamur’s actions or motivations, she recognized the necessity of action.
Gitalien helplessly replied,
"No, control over the space here lies in their hands. I can’t destroy the space."
Being a Divine Beast of space, if even it couldn’t, Agunas and others would struggle further.
Overwhelm with numerous ultimate moves to forcefully breach space?
This method might work in ordinary domains, yet even in the Data Domain, it was challenging; breaching the far more robust Parallel World was more so.
While Agunas and others were perplexed, Tamur suddenly let out a strange roar. The Mythical Era’s shadows dissolved like bubbles; however, a golden domain unfolded, gradually manifesting a familiar world within.
"It... possesses such a capability?"
Veronia, astonished by the unfolding scene, was scarcely believing, while Agunas flicked its tail, solemnly remarking,
"Given its authority, deploying the Mythical Era isn’t impossible, especially in this peculiar area."
