Chapter 2299: Chapter 2300: Dream of Myth

The Mythical Era slowly unfolding by Tamur did not directly neutralize the opponent’s offensive; instead, it made that dark hand in the shadows even more frenzied.

The darkness attempted to stain this golden Mythical Era black; however, for some unknown reason, the Mythical Era unfurled by Tamur possessed an unusual power, purifying and resolving all the invading dark twisting forces.

"It seems we can’t be of much help."

Sighing, Veronia said somewhat regretfully, not expecting Tamur to block the entire attack single-handedly. Agunas flicked its tail and said,

"Perhaps it’s not entirely without help. That thing is consuming Tamur’s power."

More attacks stormed towards Tamur. Even if the rampaging assaults couldn’t breach the protection of the Mythical Era’s projection, they still flooded that space.

Watching the golden light gradually disappearing into the darkness, Agunas no longer hesitated and took action immediately. The power of time showed itself again as Agunas unleashed divine intervention, knowing that relying solely on the power of the Time River wasn’t enough to suppress the devouring world’s dark forces which had fallen into a berserk state.

Veronia, seeing Agunas unleash divine intervention, sighed helplessly.

"Honestly, if the opponent has any hidden moves, you’re in a bad spot by acting like this."

Saying that, Veronia began forcefully summoning the World of Mirrors. Although the World of Mirrors, which Veronia governed, was much smaller in area than a Parallel World, its strength was incomparable to any Parallel World.

The current Parallel World was like an inflated balloon, gigantic but with low-energy density inside.

In contrast, the World of Mirrors controlled by Veronia was different. Even if just a fragment, it remained a part of a complete world, more like a compact solid sphere compared to the bloated balloon of the Parallel World. Even though it was small, it wasn’t something the Parallel World could shake.

The reason Veronia hadn’t done this earlier was because summoning the World of Mirrors might damage the things inside it; those were remnants of the Mythical Era. If possible, Veronia didn’t wish to destroy them.

Because they were its last remembrances of the Mythical Era.

Unfortunately, seeing the current situation, not summoning the World of Mirrors was no longer an option. It couldn’t, like Agunas, enter divine intervention, or if the opponent acted again, they wouldn’t have enough power to retaliate.

But without acting, Agunas and Tamur might not hold on.

The chaotic turbulent attacks came with a substantial amount of world essence each time. Even as Divine Beasts, they could only endure these attacks bitterly.

"No need for that."

Tamur’s voice suddenly rang in Veronia’s ear; she huffed slightly and said,

"The World of Mirrors is mine; how I use it is my own business."

"I can handle it, just give me a little more time."

For once, Tamur spoke clearly. Veronia glanced at the dark area now devoid of golden light and said,

"What does that have to do with me? I just want to solve these troubles, nothing to do with you."

With that, Veronia let the entire World of Mirrors descend. The fragmented world just revealed itself when the darkness invaded, yet the world barrier of the World of Mirrors wasn’t that easily breached.

In the faint white light, the power of the World of Mirrors began to gather under Veronia’s control. A massive Crystalline Dragon slowly formed, vastly different from the one Veronia had summoned before.

Merely in terms of aura, the Crystalline Dragon possessed an imposing presence not inferior to Veronia’s group, not to mention its unstoppable purifying power seeping out.

Rather than purifying power, it was more like an erasing power. The force felt like an eraser to Agunas, wiping away anything it touched, friend or foe.

Without guiding it for too long, Veronia also knew the current state of the World of Mirrors. The Crystalline Dragon struck at the darkness with rampant erasing power, forcibly carving out a golden path through the dark obscuring the gold.

The golden Mythical Era projection was like a golden treasure bead covered in black mud, and the Crystalline Dragon, like a cloth, wiped off the filth masking its gold.

Veronia controlled the Crystalline Dragon meticulously to prevent it from affecting Tamur. This special attack method didn’t distinguish between friend and foe, and careless control would directly destroy Tamur’s Mythical Era Projection.

Just as the gold began to reveal itself, Tamur suddenly spoke,

"Okay, you all, stand back."

Dazzling golden light emerged from the Mythical Era, even overpowering the densest darkness. The entire world seemed filled with gold.

Veronia, not knowing what Tamur did, yet released control over the Crystalline Dragon, letting it crash into the distance while retracting the World of Mirrors.

"What is even happening?"

In the golden world, Agunas had to exit the divine intervention state. Overcome by weakness, Agunas couldn’t care less about minor issues, consumed in golden light, even spiritually unable to comprehend Tamur’s doings.

"My eyes are nearly blinded."

Veronia couldn’t help but complain, while Gitalien waited until the World of Mirrors entirely vanished from this space before removing the space barrier it had just placed around the World of Mirrors.

This gold color, sensed by Gitalien, was affecting this world. If it weren’t for being the Divine Beast of space, it might not have noticed this change.

Was Tamur vying with the devouring world’s darkness for control over this space?

Inexplicably, Gitalien thought of this possibility. However, what it couldn’t understand was why Tamur wanted to do so, knowing this place was very close to the devouring world’s dark core, controlling this space would still be hard-pressed to withstand the coming erosion.

The golden light rendered the Divine Beasts blind. After a long time, the gold gradually dimmed, and golden specks like flying snow gently floated down.

It was no longer a sea of gold. Though still covered in golden light, it was clearly the landscape of a world. No, rather than a world environment, it was... too familiar.

"Is this...the Mythical Era?"

Looking at all these familiar sights, Veronia’s restrained tears fell uncontrollably. This familiarity was indeed the Mythical Era of the past.

Unlike a Parallel Space, this Mythical Era in front of them was just like the world of that time, apart from the golden glow. The energy ratio and that smoke-like scent permeating every part of the world were exactly the same...

"What exactly is Tamur doing?"

Staring at the golden dragon, Agunas was bewildered. As the era’s Divine Beast, it wasn’t surprising that they could unfold the Mythical Era, but was it now replacing this space with the Mythical Era?

What is the significance?

Gitalien, not being a creature of the Mythical Era, didn’t have as much sentiment, hence noticed the beings lying on the ground much sooner.

Those beings appeared somewhat familiar, some of the human attire seemingly seen in this Parallel World.

As for other creatures, Gitalien wasn’t familiar since it wasn’t a creature of the Mythical Era and didn’t know much about the biological environment of that era.

Seeing those beings lying as if in slumber, Gitalien, curious, transformed into human form and approached a nearby deer-like creature.

No matter what Gitalien did, the deer-like creature didn’t wake up.

No, instead of being unable to wake up, it seemed to be missing a crucial component.

Looking at the prostrate beings, Gitalien muttered to itself,

"No souls. Is this a flaw of pseudo-lifeforms, or is it due to other reasons?"

"Even pseudo-lifeforms should have a structure similar to a soul. Could it be these are part of what constitutes the darkness of the devouring world?"

Agunas had also recovered by now, hearing Gitalien’s mutterings, it floated over to assess the situation.

This group of beings was all in a state of soul absence, making it hard not to speculate in a particular direction.

However, neither Agunas nor Gitalien could figure out what exactly Tamur had done and how it had achieved this scene.
