Chapter 2301: Chapter 2302: Divine Dream

The golden sea of light lacked the usual twisted evil sensation that the other areas traversed by the group had. Though objects around either floated or combined in strange ways, they only gave off a dreamlike feeling.

Or rather, this space was like a fairytale dream, absurd yet endearing.

"This place is really bizarre, it gives off an illusion that even slaughter doesn’t exist."

Yang Hongzhi said, unable to resist, as he watched the pink elephant doll float by. The sensation this area gave him was too strange; reason told him this place was very dangerous, yet his emotions constantly tried to make him lower his guard.

"After all, this space looks just like an animated show for children, it’s not surprising you have this illusion. But I don’t believe there’s anything truly wonderful here."

Feng Yuan scanned his surroundings sharply with the blood-red long halberd in his hand, then suddenly turned and stabbed. A floating pink fat pig doll was torn apart by the blood-red long halberd without mercy, scattering cotton and scraps, yet nothing changed.

"This... could it be trying to make us paranoid, ultimately defeating ourselves?"

Dou Yanlan pondered a possibility and guessed as Feng Yuan ignored the exploding cotton and continued forward, saying

"It shouldn’t be, this thing can’t accomplish that. After all, that item has no defensive capability, a single area ultimate move could clear it."

It wasn’t that Feng Yuan acted intentionally, rather it was a natural reaction of the body. Although very alert, Feng Yuan wasn’t so panicked as to overreact.

Xiao Ji followed closely behind Feng Yuan, feeling somewhat anxious. Here was too peaceful, too serene; obviously, it was the danger-filled darkness devouring area, yet this drastically contrasting environment prompted Xiao Ji to grow suspicious, from which arose many conjectures.

The more Xiao Ji thought, the more scared he made himself, whereas the others didn’t have this problem.

Qi Chen’s battle intuition told him there was no danger here, and Qi Chen trusted his intuition.

Dou Yanlan also guessed this possibility, so she didn’t let her mind wander, and as for Yang Hongzhi and their companions from the Parallel World, it goes without saying.

They were experienced in battle and knew how to handle such environments.

The Fluffy Fire Wolfhound waved its tail following Feng Yuan. It didn’t care about traps or anything like that; what’s it to it? With Feng Yuan around, it couldn’t be bothered to think too much.

Pressing Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan chuckled and said

"Alright, stop overthinking it. This might be a rather peculiar place, and although we can’t figure out what’s going on, the possibility of enemies is low."

"Tamur, what exactly are you trying to do?"

Gazing at this golden world, Agunas was puzzled as he looked at Tamur. The return of the Mythical Era might only please Veronia; for Agunas, the bygone era should remain in the past, for its reappearance is not a good thing.

Tamur slowly floated to Agunas and others, saying

"I’m just testing a bit. This space is not my doing. It’s their own wish."

"Their wish?"

Golden stardust fell like snow, and this space became more like the Mythical Era. However, Agunas somehow felt off about this Mythical Era—too serene.

Even the pervasive smoke of war was but a remnant; aside from them, there were no other living beings in sight.

"That’s right, it’s their wish."

"Can’t you explain it more clearly?"

Veronia spoke slightly impatiently. Though not disgusted, she didn’t particularly like such perplexing riddles.

"Tamur meant that this change only serves as a guide. The reason it turned this way is due to those things’ wish."

Looking at the area full of... pseudo-lives, Gitalien spoke, though it was just his guess. He felt it should be so.

"Is that so... why do you hear so much?"

Gazing suspiciously at Gitalien, Veronia always felt he seemed to be toying with her, but upon thinking it through, Tamur might truly mean this.

Yet the wish of living beings is to recreate the Mythical Era?

Isn’t that laughable? They never lived during the Mythical Era. If it were such forgotten creatures of the times like her, it might make sense, but them, shouldn’t they look to the future with hope?

"Attempting to recreate the Mythical Era? But isn’t that contrary to their thoughts?"

Agunas flicked his tail, mumbling in confusion. The Mythological Remnants had no ambition to completely recreate the Mythical Era. What they intended was a continuation of the Mythical Era. However, if so, why did pseudo-lives wish for this?

"Very strange. Why have these pseudo-lives all lost their souls, and where are their souls?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Surveying the area full of pseudo-lives, Veronia was decidedly puzzled.

Within the golden sea of light, this fairytale dream had been continuing. Those floating dolls and pieces of furniture and decoration all appeared charming and harmless.

Yet the more this was so, the more cautious everyone became.

"Could this space be linked with the Dream Domain?"

Parallel Qiu Hanmo thought of something and spoke out. Without waiting for Feng Yuan to reply, Qi Chen already said

"Unlikely, the Dream Domain is not this ethereal."

Surprised, Parallel Qiu Hanmo glanced at Qi Chen, not expecting Qi Chen to actually have visited the Dream Domain. Dou Yanlan thought for a moment and said

"Though called the Dream Domain, it feels grounded, while here, everything seems like an illusory dream—or rather, this place is more unreal than dreams..."

"Soul Space."

Najia abruptly spoke. Feng Yuan clapped his hands, saying

"So that’s it. This is a dream space accommodating souls? Wait! No, accommodating dreams of souls whilst in the devouring world’s dark control zone, meaning this is the dream of the darkness of the devouring world?"

"That’s impossible, right?"

Not just Qi Chen, even Parallel Qiu Hanmo found it hard to believe that this fairytale dream was actually the dream of the darkness continuously twisted and devouring the Parallel World?!

"This area could only be sustained by something so vast—though that’s simply too odd."

Looking back at this fairytale world, Feng Yuan felt a strange sensation. If this were a twisted nightmare, it would make sense—but this fairytale-like dream—is it really a dream that thing can dream?

Or could it be they misunderstood the darkness of the devouring world?

"The space ahead is converging, real and unreal intertwined."

After advancing for what seemed ages, Tamur abruptly spoke, Agunas looked ahead. The solid ground there was changing, a light blue sea of light gradually appeared. That area, resembling a fairytale, seemed entirely at odds with the ominous land around.

"A bit like the Land of Souls, yet different."

Gitalien always felt the forthcoming space was somewhat familiar but couldn’t recall exactly what. Agunas flicked his tail and coldly said

"The God’s Dream, or rather, the dream of the darkness of the devouring world—such a thing truly dreams wondrous dreams."

"Intriguing indeed, such a wicked presence, yet it dreams such adorable dreams."

Veronia snorted with interest as she watched that light blue sea of light. Feng Yuan too possessed the ability to perceive the truth; he just didn’t initially consider this angle, hence he didn’t discover it.

"Would you dare enter and encounter that thing?"

Gazing at Agunas, Veronia provocatively asked with a tail flick, only to have Agunas say

"Do you think we’ll tarry here?"

"You, what are you really planning? What exactly do you want to do?"

Gazing at that light blue sea of light, Agunas softly murmured as he followed Veronia and the others into this land of dreams.

In the light blue God’s Dream, floated various sceneries of the Mythical Era, yet these Mythical Era landscapes were shattered, drifting as floating islands all around.

"Aspiration for the Mythical Era? Such peculiar beings indeed."

Veronia muttered quietly as she gazed at those familiar buildings, perhaps owing to over-familiarity, for even with only a part, she could name the structures.

Yet she couldn’t grasp why the darkness of the devouring world dreams such a dream—for her, is there truly any need to understand this Mythical Era?
