Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2300 - 2301: Shattered Space
At the time Agunas and the others faced the darkness of the Devouring World, Feng Yuan and his team encountered a troublesome enemy—the black mist that transformed into various bizarre creatures.
Unlike those aggregations of resentment, these constructs made of black mist had no emotions. They were suffused with a massive devouring pollution power; even the White Wolf Deity’s ultimate move would be tainted by it.
"This thing is really a bit troublesome, huh."
Seeing the long whip formed by the black mist, Feng Yuan waved his hand, and the phantom behind him swung the lantern. Blue flames surged out from the lantern, burning fiercely towards the black mist, purifying it intensely.
However, unlike before, this time the flames seemed to encounter some fire-resistant substance and soon extinguished on their own.
"What exactly is this thing?"
It was the first time Qi Chen saw the flame from Feng Yuan’s lantern fail. Though he wasn’t sure what that ancient lantern was, he was certain it was no weaker than Agunas and the others.
Yet, even so, it was blocked by the enemy. What kind of opponent could this be?
"It should be the main body, but not quite right; that thing is fused with the world, and soul-attacking means are directly immune, tsk, really troublesome."
Feng Yuan quickly discerned the reality of the thing. The reason the previous attack had no effect was entirely because the thing was fused with the Parallel World itself, being part of it, and his attack chiefly relied on soul power, which naturally couldn’t handle it.
But this didn’t mean Feng Yuan was helpless.
As Feng Yuan contemplated what approach to take, Qiu Hanmo and the others instructed their beast tamers to attack, various ultimate moves hurling toward the black mist, yet a black-gray light barrier rose, reflecting the moves back immediately.
Fortunately, the White Wolf Deity intervened in time to block the reflected ultimate moves, preventing Qi Chen and the others from getting hurt.
"This thing really has many tricks."
Feng Yuan’s brow furrowed; this thing seemed quite challenging, as the light barrier not only reflected Qi Chen and their beast tamer’s ultimate moves but also had a significant portion of reflection against the White Wolf Deity and Feng Yuan’s attacks.
Despite its formidable defensive power, the black mist’s offensive capabilities were severely limited, as it nearly lacked any offensive means besides creating mist creatures.
Even so, the incessant mist creatures brought considerable trouble to everyone.
Unable to attack the black mist’s main body, Qi Chen and his team could only choose to block these mist creatures, yet they were endless, even as they exerted their utmost effort, barely keeping them at the perimeter.
"It’s a pity Gitalien isn’t here. Otherwise, using enhanced space shattering might handle this thing."
Touching his chin, Feng Yuan whispered; such things with world linkage were the most troublesome, as attacks outside certain attributes were nearly ineffective.
And the enhanced space shattering from space series ultimate moves precisely countered it, but unfortunately, Gitalien wasn’t present, and despite the White Wolf Deity’s ability to use space series moves, it couldn’t perform enhanced space shattering; after all, it wasn’t a space series Divine Beast, and some ultimate move changes, even with conditions, were unachievable.
Both sides fell into a stalemate as Feng Yuan quickly pondered a solution, needing to resolve this swiftly since, over time, the opponent could continually draw more Power of the World, making future handling troublesome.
Thinking about it, Feng Yuan spoke:
"Najia, can you use space-breaking type ultimate moves?"
"No ultimate moves directly targeting space, however, Black Death Star summoning can temporarily break open space, akin to the Crimson Judgement."
Najia instantly understood Feng Yuan’s plan in its reply. Although it seldom participated in battles, it knew how to solve such situations, naturally guessing Feng Yuan’s intention.
Hearing Najia’s response, Feng Yuan said:
"Then I’ll trouble you to use Black Death Star summoning."
With that, Feng Yuan gestured, and the pitch-black ancient book floating beside the White Wolf Deity instantly retrieved itself, with the aura receding, reverting the White Wolf Deity to its original form. But even so, the White Wolf Deity’s combat power was unaffected.
Najia transformed its shape, and under the ancient book’s black fortification, its power greatly enhanced. While gazing at the continually strengthening black mist, the queen-like presence of Yagina began softly humming.
A dormant dead star began vibrating in the depths of the starry sky. With Yagina’s humming, a force traversed the space barrier to arrive in this space.
The black mist seemed to sense something, frantically creating mist creatures to hinder Yagina, but with Feng Yuan and the White Wolf Deity’s addition, such efforts were futile.
Space suddenly shattered like a mirror as a huge black star pushed through this broken space barrier, attempting to descend into this area.
The immense Black Death Star bore a frenzied force of desolation, destroying everything near it, including space barriers, which were nothing but paper before its desolate power.
The apparently slow yet rapid Black Death Star, under Yagina’s summoning, successfully arrived in this space, crashing toward the black mist.
The adversary didn’t sit idle, furiously generating barriers of various kinds, and Feng Yuan noticed multilayered space structures rapidly constructed by the opponent to fend off the Black Death Star.
Unfortunately, these efforts were useless against the descending Black Death Star, as there were no dazzling explosions, merely crushing the previously formidable black mist like a bug.
"Indeed, the stronger somewhere is, the harsher the weakness. Thanks to you this time~"
Seeing the mist creatures summoned by the black mist all collapse independently, Feng Yuan smiled at Najia. The tone changed, and the Black Death Star slowly rose, returning to its dormant state.
After a while, the sky left only a space rift emitting dark lightning, with Najia sitting weakly on Yang Hongzhi’s shoulder, saying:
"Crossing such a vast distance to use the Black Death Star is indeed not an easy task."
"But didn’t you succeed?"
Feng Yuan gave Najia a thumbs up, and Yang Hongzhi was concerned about Najia’s condition, anxiously asking about its state for fear of any mishaps.
With the black mist crushed by the Black Death Star, the path forward reappeared, yet the environment ahead seemed not quite normal.
Unlike the lifeless dark void, the sea of corpses no longer emerged ahead; it was as if it had completely transformed into another space.
The warmth of the golden light grew brighter as they moved away from the corpse area, floating above a golden sea filled with various oddities.
Some appeared familiar and others strange, yet overall, there was no sense of twisted oddity.
"Do we go into that place?"
Gazing at the black mist formed from resentment gathering there and gradually obscuring the golden light sea, Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan and asked. Pondering, Feng Yuan said:
"We should take a look; after all, it’s not easy to get rid of that, aren’t you curious about what’s inside?"
"Well, that’s true."
Rubbing the back of his head, Qi Chen felt slightly embarrassed, saying:
"That area is quite special, with a strong soul power."
"Why does this unique space directly embed itself within this space?"
The different-time Qiu Hanmo was somewhat puzzled, pondering before speaking:
"Could it be the opposite, that this unique space forcibly entered the area?"
"It’s not impossible; after all, the target of these resentments seems to be that thing, though I don’t quite understand... why so much resentment against it."
Stroking his chin, Feng Yuan spoke in confusion. Logically, their target should be the Mythological Remnants rather than the darkness of the Devouring World.
After all, the skeletons clearly resulted from failed experiments, and the darkness born from the Devouring World emerged from failed experimentations, sharing the same origin—why, then, do they infinitely target it, whetting hate far beyond targeting the Mythological Remnants?
This thinking formed because of directional issues, as these resentments could traverse space in a sense within the Parallel World, appearing here because their objective was the darkness from the Devouring World.
If the target were the Mythological Remnants, this space should appear near their habitation, yet reality was quite the contrary.
"Maybe there’s something unknown to us; guessing blindly won’t yield results. Why not investigate directly?"
Dou Yanlan looked at Feng Yuan while speaking. Although she didn’t understand the details, she sensed something was off. However, the clues were too sparse for her to deduce any useful outcomes.
