Chapter 112: Escape

Aselia’s POV

I turned towards Yurain and knew he could sense something was off about me. "I just want to go home, I am tired," I responded with a hint of sadness.

"Then let’s fetch him and get out of here." He smiled at me and we rushed to his room. Opening the door we found him in the same position as I had left him.

"You did the unthinkable, this will be a huge victory for us," Yurian cheered while we advanced toward him and picked up his limp body. Wrapping his arms around our necks we balanced him between us and dragged him along. His head bobbed and his legs got dragged since he was taller than us. Yurian and Agent 27 were using serums to mask their scents so no trace will be left behind on who took us.

His body was still warm and I felt it seep into me, this filled me with guilt. Although my brain kept screaming he was an enemy, my heart refused to accept this notion. Leaving the room I threw it one final look before closing the door behind us and taking him up the stairs.

Agent 27 rushed to our side as we emerged on the roof carrying Xiran between us. He looped a rope while I let go of Xiran as Yurian hugged him from behind and Agent 27 tied them together. He had tied the rappelling ropes at the backend of the hotel wall which went down to the alley.

"Let’s get him down and get the h*ll out of here," Yurain spoke with gritted teeth as Agent 27 and I helped them both over the edge. Yurian slowly lowered himself down with Xiran hanging limply at his back. His hair was all over the place and his head was tilted to the right side. Agent 27 contacted the Team below who were waiting in a car, hiding in the corner.

I watched him helplessly unable to escape the uneasiness I felt. Once they were down the other members of our team rushed forward, one of them had previously tilted the camera up which had been strategically placed to cover this alley, so it couldn’t cover what was going on anymore.

Seeing the position of the camera change I knew we had very limited time now before they will be unto us. "We have to go." Agent 27 told me in a serious tone and I nodded before tying the rope to my back and sliding down in a few seconds. Agent 27 followed me instantly.

Yurian and Xiran were already safely in the car when we saw two vampires turn the corner belonging to Xiran’s security detail. But our team was ready for them with their Executioner guns. One of them was instantly hit and became paralyzed while the other moved at lightning speed. He captured one of our men in a choke hold, making a guttural sound, but Agent 27 hit him with his gun, immobilizing him.

"We need to hurry or we will be discovered now," I shouted. Agent 27 bound both stunned vampires with specially designed ropes and left them in the alley. We rushed to the car and got in. It was a black limousine with tainted glass.

Xiran was seated in front of me and had been secured by Yurian, tied from his waist and hands with paralytic laced ropes. Even if he would gain consciousness, it would be impossible for him to move. His eyes were still closed and his breathing was slow.

The car sputtered to life and we sped away, hoping we hadn’t been discovered. "Head for the airport," Yurian instructed the driver.

"How did you get into the city?" I asked Yurian.

"We posed as an acrobatic team, there is an acrobatic competition going on. So it was fairly easier because they have changed their policy with tourists." Yurian filled me in as he checked the ropes were tight enough and covered Xiran with an oversized black coat.

"I see," I averted my gaze so I didn’t have to see his unconscious being anymore and began to stare outside the window.

"White Falcon, any injuries? We will run a complete medical check-up once we get back to the headquarters but for now, I can give you any medical assistance you may need." Agent 27 inquired of me.

"No, I am fine. No injuries or anything else." I replied without facing him.

"We will need to monitor your HB as well. How much did this filth drain you?" His voice held so much disgust for Xiran.

"I am fine. He didn’t drink much from me." I tried to reassure them but I knew it was hard for them to believe that a vampire will show restraint to an elf. This was unheard of.

The car throttled on at maximum speed and we turned towards the Airport lane. Yurian had made contact with the headquarters and informed them that we had been retrieved safely and were heading to the airport. We just needed to pass the last security check-up, which was coming up.

They hid the guns, ropes, and communication devices in the secret compartment of the car. "Yurian change seats with me," I instructed him and he did exactly that. I wrapped my arms around Xiran and placed his head on my shoulder. Giving an impression we were a couple pretending to sleep.

Yurian had fake IDs. We stopped at the check post and they checked everyone and their IDs. Yurian handed everyone’s IDs as we kept on pretending to sleep. It took them a few minutes and we were finally let into the AirPort. The last hurdle had passed and we were heading home. I didn’t let go of Xiran.

Reaching our customized black plane I was astonished to see it had been painted in red and blue stripes. "What in the hell?" I scoffed at Yurain.

"Told you we were posing as an Acrobatic Team, we had to look the part. And we had some rich sponsors. Too bad the event will miss our performance, we could have easily won gold." Yurian shrugged his shoulders and I chuckled.

The back side of the plane opened and the car entered inside through the boarding ramp, the back hatch closed behind us.

Yurian and Agent 27 opened the door and stepped outside. Agent 27 grabbed Xiran from me and yanked him out, the other members of the team helped him as they hauled him away, I looked on helplessly, not saying a word. My heart screamed as if it had been yanked from my chest too.

Yurian offered me his hand through the open door and I took it before getting out of the car. He led me to the front of the plane and helped me to the seat. I scanned the plane to see where they were keeping Xiran.

He had been tied to the seat at the back, still unconscious and unaware that I had ripped him off his home, and his city and ousted his identity which he had toiled so hard to protect. I shuddered to imagine his hatred.

"Secure his hands tightly," I instructed them and they nodded, checking the knots again.

I settled down in my seat as the plane began to move slowly on the runaway and we got ready to take off, buckling our seat belts. Yurian came and settled down in the seat opposite me. He handed me a cranberry juice box.

"You look pale, did he go overboard with you?" His eyes held a serious look, his words were a mere whisper so others won’t hear.

"No, I had a temperature. Couldn’t eat for three days and puked my insides out. On the contrary, he took care of me." Yurain’s eyebrow got raised at my answer.

"Are you feeling guilty? Partner." There was an edge to his voice now and I knew it will not be easy to hide everything from him. He knew me too well.

"And why would I be doing that? It was a mission and I successfully completed it." I retorted showing my annoyance and averted my gaze from him.

"Then why do you appear as if someone has died." He teased me.

"Maybe the fact that I hadn’t slept in days." I glared back at him, how was he always able to see through me?

"And I haven’t slept in weeks, still don’t have a death look. I am excited and relieved this is over. Although Aldridge is going to kill me for breaking protocols." He pursed his lips, trying to look cute.

"Stop with the questioning, save them for him," I growled and began to drink the juice he had given me earlier.

He chuckled at my action and began to quietly glance outside from the airplane window. We had become airborne now and were heading to the place I called home for the last 15 years. It was dark outside and only lights from the settlements could be seen.

Then I heard a loud groan and my head instantly turned to find him waking up, his grey eyes lazily opened and found mine...
