Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 390: Going To Lahoire
The phone call from Xiran shocked Silver and he rushed to Aldridge’s office while trying to connect with Yurian on the phone. He didn’t pick up and Silver assumed the worst.
He burst through Aldridge’s office door; who had just arrived and hurriedly spoke:
"White Falcon has been taken by Phantom, we need damage control. Inform the team in Lahoire."
Their fears had come true and Aldridge forgot to breathe for a second before his fist came down hard on his desk and he picked up his phone and called the Lahoire base. After giving instructions to Foxi he ended the call and faced Silver before asking in annoyance:
"Who informed you? And how did this even happen?"
"Xiran and I don’t know. But I am leaving for Lahoire. We don’t even know what he did to Yurian and his family. This is bad," Silver placed both his hands, palms down on Aldridge’s table and leaned over.
"That’s what we had feared all along. I will call Xiran and strategise a plan on how to proceed. You go and handle the situation in Lahoire. Take all the help you need," Aldridge added.
"Xiran is already gone and his father has threatened to kill White Falcon if anyone came after her," Silver’s words pissed off Aldridge even more.
"Of course, he did. I will be sending over agents in disguise at least they will be able to gather some information and when the opportunity will arise, we will attack. We can’t be sitting ducks. White Falcon and Black Hawk are two of our best agents."
"I agree, send out teams, with serums. I am leaving for Lahoire now. I want to keep the hope alive," the lines of worry seemed to be permanently etched on Silver’s forehead. These two had been like kids to him and he had seen them grow and now their lives were hanging in balance.
He left Aldridge’s office and quickly packed his bag before heading to the hangar. The jet was ready for him and they took off. His thoughts were all messed up.
The previous night Rubisha had called him. He hadn’t been able to visit her due to missions and she had taken that to heart. She complained that he had been avoiding her when in reality all he needed was a bit more time to get used to the idea of having a vampire as his partner. He wasn’t fond of them.
But the next news she had broken to him had him shocked and he couldn’t even speak for a whole minute.
"Silver! I am pregnant and I am going to keep the baby and raise him with or without you. Just let me know what your decision is because it will involve if I will ever let you see the child or not. So think wisely and answer me. Don’t keep me hanging," her words were still echoing in his mind. She was pregnant, he had never thought this would happen.
She needed him, he could never abandon her like that or their child. Although the idea of becoming a father was still foreign to him he had to man up.
"You are not alone in this and I will never shirk away from my duty to you. I will come to you soon, I promise and we will talk about this," he had answered in exasperation, not understanding what to say to her. This was all very new for him.
"If you are taking all this as your duty and want to be the guy who only wants to do the right thing because he banged up a girl, don’t even bother contacting me or coming here," these were her last words before she disconnected the call. He right away called her multiple times but her phone was switched off.
He had decided to go to her in the morning but now this happened and his plans to visit her would be delayed even more. He could only imagine how pissed she would be at him. Her beautiful angry face flashed in front of him and he couldn’t help but smile in this distressing time.
He would win her over, one naughty sentence from him always had her melting in his arms, she was only angry because he hadn’t visited her as he promised. But he had planned on keeping it.
As they landed near Lahoire, Silver took his jeep and headed for the base. It had been almost 10 hours since the attack. Two hunters were waiting for him just outside the base with grim looks. Silver skipped all formalities as he approached them and asked:
"Status?"
A hunter named Blue Jay, who had been working directly under Aselia seemed to be on the edge as he began:
"Black Hawk is seriously injured and barely hanging on. We shifted him to the hospital. He is in a coma and doctors are still operating on him to save his life."
Silver took a deep breath but maintained a stoic face, he wouldn’t let his emotions seep through. He had to be strong for everyone and asked in a monotone:
"What about his family?"
"They went out of station so they are safe. We have Black Hawk’s phone so we informed them of the situation. They are coming back though," he heaved a sigh of relief at his words.
"I see, and no sign of White Falcon?" he dreaded asking that and Blue Jay shook his head with a solemn expression.
"No, even her phone is missing. The house is a mess, Black Hawk did a number on the enemy. We found eight bodies in the house."
"Take me there," Silver instructed. They took Silver’s jeep and headed for Yurian’s house. He wanted to be there before his parents arrived, they had already lost a daughter and now their son was on a deathbed and White Falcon had been taken. This was messed up.
Silver tightly clutched the steering wheel as he followed the instructions to Yurian’s house which was a bloody mess.
