Chapter 392: Critical Condition

Reaching the hospital they rushed inside. Blue Jay led the way to the Emergency. They waited outside as Silver and Blue Jay hounded the operational desk and asked about Yurian. He was still in surgery and the situation was critical. He had lost too much blood and since Golden Hounds were rare, their blood was even rarer.

The head nurse on the desk informed them that they were trying to arrange blood, they had used the few bags they had in stock. Esma was trying to compose herself but her heart was aching, she wanted to see her son.

"I am his father, I am compatible with him," his father informed the nurse so they will use his blood to save their son.

"Mine might work as well. You will have to test it because we are not similar species but pretty close," Silver offered, he knew Silver and Golden hounds had similar anatomies, there were only physical differences between them.

They were taken to the lab and their blood was tested against Yurian’s to test the compatibility. Both of them were, so their blood was collected and sent off to the operating theatre while they were escorted to the waiting area.

Everyone was on tenterhooks. Esma and Razian were huddled together as they prayed, Silver impatiently paced the small area, and Blue Jay brought some food and coffee for them, which anyone hardly touched.

After some time Blue Jay left and headed back to help with the clean-up process. Silver stayed with the grieving couple. It was night when he received a call from Rivan. He immediately picked up and heard Rivan’s slightly panicked voice:

"Hello! Silver. Where are you? Have you heard?" Silver moved away from the couple so he could answer the call without them having to hear the painful words again.

"I have, I am at the hospital. Yurian is critical and Aselia has been taken."

"I see. Frila and I want to come over. We can’t get hold of Xiran. He switched off his phone and went after his father alone. We need a strategy, he is walking into a trap but he is so blinded right now that he can’t see that. I know where his father lives, so I want to go after them," Rivan had his heart in his mouth from the moment he received that call from his friend.

"Come over, we will sit and talk here. Do you have the location or I can share it?" Silver replied.

"I do, Frila has been to Lahoire. Just share the location of where we must come."

"I will," they ended the call after that. Silver moved back to the area where Esma and Razian were.

She was slowly whispering to him in a painful voice: "It’s the same thing all over again Razian. They left my boy on the verge of death last time as well and took our Rasia. And now this again. How much more do we need to suffer? He hasn’t even recovered from the loss of Rasia. Do you think he will ever forgive himself once he wakes up and finds he lost another sister?"

"We are not going to lose them. They are looking for Leia. They will find her soon," Razian gave false hope to his wife, knowing too well there was a slim chance that they would find Aselia alive.

Silver quietly approached them and softly spoke: "If I may?" and they nodded their heads looking at him with their eyes swirling with tears.

"I have personally trained Leia and she is one of the best hunters we ever had. She is fast and stubborn and if anyone can defeat these vampires, it’s her. She will be safe, trust in us. We have some of the best people looking for her. And Yurian is a fighter, he is going to pull through," he offered them a small smile, planting a seed of hope in their hearts. Giving them the courage to hold on.

He then requested them to at least drink something so they could stay hydrated, because it was turning into a long night.

Finally, around midnight, the doctor emerged from the operation theatre. Esma and Razian rushed to him while Silver followed but kept a two feet distance to give them their space.

"How is our son?" Esma demanded.

The doctor took off his surgical mask before speaking.

"I have done everything I could, he is healing now but is in a coma. Some of his wounds are too deep and he lost too much blood. We will have to be patient," he told them in a grim voice. Esma covered her mouth to stifle her cries while Razian solemnly asked:

"Coma is self-induced or due to his injuries?"

"It’s due to his injuries and we don’t know when he will wake up," Razian tightened his hold against his wife’s waist so she wouldn’t slump to the ground.

"Can we at least see him?" Razian asked in a small voice.

"Yes, you may but follow protocols. It’s for his safety," he instructed before putting on his surgical mask. They thanked him, he nodded and walked away.

"I will stay here," Silver told them as they hurried to meet their son, wanting to give them the alone time they needed.

Opening the door, they silently entered his room. Yurian was lying on the hospital bed with his eyes closed, his soft brown hair was all matted, and he was surrounded by monitors and tubes.

"My son," Esma hiccuped as she moved towards him and placed her hand on his forehead, giving him her warmth. The bruises showed on his face, some were shallow and some deep.

Esma gently stroked his hair as silent tears fell from her eyes and her heart ached in immense pain, seeing her son like that.

"My boy! hang in there. I know you are strong."

Razian stood by her, watching him with tear-filled eyes, praying for a miracle to happen. They had just gotten him back after so many years but fate was cruel to them and they had to witness this all over again.
