Chapter 101 - 24: Super Serious Knight Training! Coach! I Want to Learn Swordsmanship
[Accept Hidden Quest: The Greedy Elf?]
[Quest Reward: Forced Keyword—[Fallen]! (This Forced Keyword is only effective against non-Guild members!)]
Su Xuan was completely baffled by the sudden quest notification. He wondered, ’Who on earth gave me this Elf’s Tear?’
The only Elves he knew, when he thought about it, were the three Beiya women—the mother and her two daughters—and Liu Xue’s Vini.
Could it have been Beiya Leila who gave him the Elf’s Tear? All signs seemed to point to this conclusion, and this quest also appeared to be intricately connected to her.
"The Greedy Elf..." Su Xuan muttered under his breath.
He could indeed sense a powerful trait of Strong Desire from Beiya Leila. Her protectiveness over her two children seemed far more intense and resolute than any other mother’s.
Of course, during their first meeting last night, he had only just brushed against the edge of the Sin of Greed. He had yet to glimpse its unfathomable depths.
Furthermore, the new Forced Keyword couldn’t be used on Guild members, which meant he, Ivsha, and the others couldn’t wield this Power.
’Is this meant for Beiya Leila? ...No, that’s not right!’
’Judging from the word "Forced," it must be intended for enemies.’
"Yes."
Su Xuan clicked to accept the quest.
[Quest Objective: Help Beiya Leila!]
[Quest Description: This was a grave mistake from twenty years ago. Please, I beg you, help them.]
Su Xuan drew a sharp breath.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he murmured, "A mistake? Whose mistake?"
’Was it the Elf Mother Tree?’
’Because within the Elf Race, the only one responsible for procreation is the Elf Mother Tree... ’
The quest description was somewhat vague, but Su Xuan understood that this was a hidden quest. Clues about it would only be gradually revealed as he progressed through the main story.
"It seems things with the Elf Race are just getting started," Su Xuan murmured. The character quests for Beiya Fuli and Beira Furo hadn’t been unlocked yet, but they were undoubtedly related to their mother.
Additionally, Su Xuan glanced at the newly refreshed special commission quest to advance from E-Level to E+ Level.
The quest had a prerequisite: to kill a Viscount of the Star Kingdom.
This task wasn’t difficult. The target was only Level 20, and the reason for his assassination was simple: he had become a follower of a Witch and caused casualties.
The Law Enforcement Knights had issued this quest, hoping an Adventurer would kill the fugitive Viscount and bring back his body.
However... Su Xuan stroked his chin, musing, ’First of all, this is just a prerequisite... Does that mean the follow-up quest is also related to some Witch?’
Just as his mind was racing, the Teleportation Array flared with white light.
He lifted his head and looked toward the Guild’s main entrance.
He expected to see Ivsha and the others, but instead, it was Rosaline. And following behind her was... Roxia?
’Wait a minute.’
’The instructor Rosaline mentioned... was it Roxia?’
’A genius!’
"So this is Mr. Su Xuan’s Guild?" Roxia stepped inside and carefully inspected every corner.
This was her first time entering a Guild established by Players, so she was naturally filled with curiosity and anticipation.
"She’s the instructor you mentioned?" Su Xuan asked as he walked over to Rosaline and Roxia.
"Yes." Rosaline nodded affirmatively and explained, "Roxia can serve as your instructor for now. She’ll teach you the basic knowledge and techniques of Swordsmanship. Of course, you only need to learn the most Basic Swordsmanship to get a feel for melee combat."
"Oh."
Su Xuan nodded thoughtfully, his gaze shifting to Roxia.
Roxia was still dressed in her silver-white armor, her Golden hair cascading down like a waterfall, exuding a fresh, youthful fragrance.
Her aquamarine eyes were as deep as sapphires, shimmering with a faint light.
"It’s a pleasure to be working with you, Mr. Su Xuan!"
Roxia seemed to notice Su Xuan’s gaze and immediately stood up straight.
She seemed a little nervous, perhaps because she was on Su Xuan’s turf.
It was understandable. After all, Roxia had only just come of age a few days ago.
Although she had already become the Clan Leader of the Yerman Clan at her age, her true trials were just beginning.
"Time is short. Let’s start immediately."
Rosaline immediately walked toward the training room, ready to begin today’s Knight training.
As soon as she entered the room, she habitually took off her armor.
"Aunt?"
Roxia was baffled. ’If this is Knight training, why take off the armor?’
"It’s just a sparring session. There’s no need to wear cumbersome armor," Rosaline explained. Her armor then fell away like petals, revealing her graceful figure.
"Oh..." Although Roxia was a bit confused, she chose to believe her aunt.
In the next moment, however, she was flustered again.
Because the tank top and workout leggings Rosaline was wearing were things that didn’t exist in their world.
While not exactly revealing, the outfit perfectly accentuated her mature, feminine figure.
’Also... why does Aunt Rosaline look so... provocative in that outfit?’
’How is Mr. Su Xuan holding back?’
"What are you spacing out for? The training has begun!"
Suddenly, Rosaline’s voice reached Roxia’s ears, snapping her out of her daze.
"Oh!"
Roxia immediately drew the sword from her waist, and at the same time, Su Xuan took a fighting stance.
Rosaline stood to the side, arms crossed over her chest, and said coolly, "Begin. I’ll be watching every move you both make and pointing out your mistakes."
"Okay!"
"Alright!"
(What followed was a Swordsmanship lesson, a thousand words of which are omitted here...)
CLANG!
With a crisp ring of metal on metal, the sword in Su Xuan’s hand was sent flying several meters away.
"Not bad. You can already withstand ten of my moves!"
Roxia praised him with a smile.
"But only ten," Su Xuan replied with a faint smile. It had only taken him an hour to be able to block ten of Roxia’s moves using just Basic Swordsmanship. Whether or not Roxia was holding back, this was progress!
The moment he picked up his sword, a notification flashed before his eyes.
[Basic Swordsmanship Learned!]
’Basic Swordsmanship?’
Su Xuan’s eyes flickered. Basic Swordsmanship was the foundation of all other sword techniques. Without it, one couldn’t learn any High-tier Swordsmanship.
’Does this mean I can start learning more advanced Swordsmanship now?’
Of course, the foundation of all Swordsmanship ultimately depended on the two Attributes of Power and agility.
Even if someone with low Power and agility Attributes mastered High-tier Swordsmanship, they still couldn’t contend with an enemy whose overall Attributes far surpassed their own.
Just then, the Teleportation Array shone with light once more.
Ivsha and the Elf Sisters arrived at the Guild.
"Mr. Su Xuan (Guild President), we’re here~"
"Excuse us~ Are there any quests for us today?" Beiya Fuli and Beira Furo looked at Su Xuan expectantly, waiting for their Guild President to give them a mission.
"Actually, there is one mission I need you to handle." Su Xuan handed them the prerequisite quest for the special commission. "However, this quest is somewhat dangerous, so all four of you will go."
He wouldn’t have been at ease if he had sent only the Elf Sisters on this prerequisite quest.
But with Rosaline and Ivsha accompanying them, he could rest completely assured.
"I understand."
Rosaline nodded, immediately put her armor back on, and picked up the Oath Sword that was leaning in the corner. Then, she walked towards the Teleportation Gate. "Let’s go."
"Mhm!"
The Elf Sisters followed close behind.
"Well then, Mr. Su Xuan, we’ll be back soon~" Ivsha gave Su Xuan a charming smile before following the others into the Teleportation Gate.
A moment later, only Su Xuan, Roxia, and Alice, who was brewing coffee, were left in the Guild.
"Shall we continue?"
Su Xuan tightened his grip on his sword. He was just starting to get the hang of it.
"Mhm."
Roxia nodded, raising her sword to duel with Su Xuan once more.
In the blink of an eye, another hour passed.
"Stop, stop, stop! Let’s call it a day!"
After two hours of Swordsmanship training, Su Xuan felt utterly exhausted and in desperate need of a break.
"Okay." Roxia sheathed her sword.
"Master~ Have some coffee!"
Alice quickly brought Su Xuan a cup of coffee. She had meticulously drawn a heart shape on the surface, a display of her unique thoughtfulness.
"Thanks," Su Xuan said gratefully.
He picked up the cup and took a small sip. The cool coffee instantly refreshed him, but he also noticed a problem—it was incredibly bitter. Alice had clearly been stingy with the sugar.
Roxia walked over just then. Due to the intense exertion, her chest was heaving, and the heavy armor she wore had caused her to break out in a heavy sweat.
"Miss Roxia, this is your coffee," Alice said considerately, handing her a cup.
"Thank you." Roxia accepted it gratefully, took a small sip, and sat down on a wooden chair to recover her stamina.
"Aren’t you hot?" Su Xuan asked Roxia curiously.
"A little..."
Roxia did feel a bit stuffy. The heavy armor combined with a Physique that made her sweat easily was like having a double debuff.
"If you’re hot, just take it off. The Guild has a bathing area, so you can take a shower before you go back," Su Xuan said while sipping his coffee. "So bitter! Alice, is there any sugar?"
"There’s no more sugar~! It seems like someone hid the sugar bowl..." Alice explained.
"Damn it! There’s a thief in the Guild!"
Su Xuan sighed helplessly. He was too tired and couldn’t be bothered to buy sugar cubes from the shop, so he decided to just drink it as is.
At that very moment, however, Roxia gently removed her armor, revealing the graceful, curvaceous figure hidden beneath to Su Xuan.
But what caught Su Xuan’s attention more were the crystal-clear beads of sweat glistening on Roxia’s skin. They shimmered under the Sunshine like pearls embedded on her flesh. Because she had been tightly encased in armor just moments before, the scent of her sweat hadn’t been strong.
But once Roxia took off her armor, the fragrant aroma from her Curse washed over Su Xuan’s senses like a tidal wave, impossible to conceal. And this was the result after Roxia had followed Rosaline’s method for lifting the Curse, soaking her body three times a day just to barely suppress it.
Su Xuan couldn’t imagine how terrifying it would be if the Curse were to fully erupt.
"Please allow me to use the Guild’s bathroom," Roxia requested.
"Yeah, go ahead."
"Thank you."
Su Xuan agreed. Covered in sweat, Roxia definitely needed to wash up.
’Speaking of which, didn’t Roxia find Alice’s coffee bitter?’ Su Xuan curiously glanced at the cup Roxia had been drinking from and sneakily took a small taste.
"So sweet!!!"
