Chapter 102 - 25: Demon Eye of Disillusionment and the Sweet Maiden Knight
SPLASH~
Hot water gushed from the showerhead, soaking Roxia completely. The water droplets slid across her skin, outlining her captivating figure and making it even more alluring.
Her waist-length hair clung to her skin under the flow of water, like a golden waterfall tracing her perfect figure. A thin haze of steam and mist wove around her, making her look like a Fairy from the clouds, a temptress in the fog.
Next, Roxia carefully lathered herself with body wash, cleansing every inch of her skin and completely washing away her sweat.
When the warm water had flushed her skin a faint crimson, she gently turned off the faucet and murmured, "How convenient..."
Afterward, she walked to the mirror. Roxia gazed at her reflection; the proud, pale mounds of her chest were a clear sign that she was no longer a little girl.
Additionally, her features were growing to resemble Rosaline’s more and more, so much so that some of the old Knights in the clan often mistook one for the other.
But she still fell short when compared to the Rosaline of ten years ago.
Roxia sighed softly and picked up a towel to dry herself. As she was about to do so, she suddenly recalled Su Xuan’s warning not to use the pink towel.
’The pink towel...’
Roxia realized she was holding the very same pink towel and immediately swapped it for a pure white one. She couldn’t help but wonder, ’Does Mr. Su Xuan like pink things?’
After drying off and getting dressed, Roxia returned to the Guild hall.
She saw Su Xuan lounging on the sofa in the Guild hall. Alice sat beside him, kneading his shoulders and massaging his legs, and he looked utterly relaxed.
"Have a seat for a bit. We’re waiting for Rosaline to get back," Su Xuan said, patting the spot next to him and gesturing for Roxia to sit and rest.
"Okay." Roxia nodded and gracefully took a seat on a nearby sofa.
Fresh from her shower, she was surrounded by a faint scent of lavender. It mingled with the fragrance her Curse naturally produced, creating an indescribably sweet aroma.
On a related note, Su Xuan had earlier taken a small sip of Roxia’s cup of coffee.
Normally, the coffee Alice prepared for Roxia should have been identical to the cup Su Xuan had tasted.
Strangely, however, Roxia’s coffee was overwhelmingly sweet!
If the coffee itself wasn’t the issue, then it must have been the scent of Roxia’s Curse. A single drop of it seemed to be enough to transform bitter coffee into sugary-sweet water!
It was no wonder Roxia never added sugar to her coffee—there was simply no need.
It was as if she herself were steeped in honey!
"By the way, has the Royal City appointed a new City Lord since the Sunset City Lord passed away?" Su Xuan asked curiously.
"Yes, someone has already taken the position of Sunset City’s City Lord," Roxia nodded and replied. "He’s an old Knight. He used to be a Law Enforcement Knight in Sunset City, but he went to the Royal City for some reason. Now, he’s decided to come back and take up the post."
"Is he trustworthy?" Su Xuan asked.
"He is. He’s from my grandfather’s generation and they were good friends. He even instructed me in Swordsmanship when I was a child. That old Knight’s Swordsmanship is even more formidable than my aunt’s!" Roxia said.
"He’s that good?"
Su Xuan was a little surprised. ’There’s a Knight in Sunset City who’s even better than Rosaline?’
"But I heard that this old Knight volunteered to return to Sunset City from the Royal City. He was a Prince’s Royal Knight and was only a single step away from becoming a Star Knight. I don’t understand why he’d come back. By returning here, he’ll lose everything." Roxia was confused by the old Knight’s decision to return to Sunset City.
Su Xuan nodded thoughtfully upon hearing this.
’After all, Sunset City is so small compared to the Royal City. Even as City Lord, there’s little room for further advancement.’
"Oh, right~" Roxia suddenly recalled something. "Mr. Su Xuan, do you remember Princess Vivian?"
"Yes, why?" Su Xuan was a little surprised. ’What about Princess Vivian? What trouble has she gotten into now?’
"She’s been writing to me recently, hoping I’ll consider becoming her Royal Knight. She also mentioned that a Star Knight has pledged allegiance to her, and if I’m willing to go to the Imperial City, she can have that Star Knight become my mentor..." Roxia explained.
"Refuse her!"
Su Xuan shook his head decisively, his tone firm. "Stay as far away from the Royal Family’s conflicts as you can, understand?"
"I..."
"Roxia!"
Su Xuan reached out and placed his right hand lightly on Roxia’s shoulder.
The touch made Roxia’s body tremble slightly.
Due to the blessing of the White Rose Ceremony, her All Attributes and her Perception of danger had increased by 100%, but so had her sensitivity to pain.
Thus, even Su Xuan’s light touch on her shoulder was enough to make her frame shudder.
This was also why Roxia always wore armor—to minimize physical contact with others.
But now, fresh from her shower, she had no way to prevent it.
"I need you to understand," Su Xuan said, gazing into Roxia’s eyes and admonishing her with the seriousness of an uncle. "The Royal Family’s conflicts might bring you opportunities, but it also means that you and the Yerman Clan behind you will have to pick a side. Do you understand?"
A light flickered in Roxia’s beautiful eyes as she listened.
Of course, she understood his words. As the Clan Leader of the Yerman Clan, she had to make her decisions based on the clan’s best interests.
"I understand! Thank you for the advice, Mr. Su Xuan!" Roxia replied at once.
"I’m glad you’re willing to trust me," Su Xuan said with a smiling nod. "If you want to get stronger, I’ll have Rosaline return to the Yerman Clan often to instruct you in Swordsmanship. Her Growth in the Guild will be passed on to you as well."
’This aunt and niece duo are both talented. They’re worth training.’
"Thank you so much, Mr. Su Xuan! I don’t know how I can ever repay you!" Roxia’s heart swelled with gratitude.
"There’s no need to repay me. I’m your aunt’s President; it’s what I ought to do," Su Xuan said nonchalantly.
’Rosaline has contributed far more to the Guild than she’s taken from it. Looking after her niece is only right.’
During a lull in the conversation, the Teleportation Array flashed with white light, and Rosaline and the others returned to the Guild.
"We’re back."
"Good work."
Su Xuan stood up to greet his Guild members.
"So? Has your Swordsmanship improved?"
Rosaline had barely set foot inside before she was eagerly asking Su Xuan about his progress, showing a particular concern for him.
"It went well. I have a deeper understanding of Swordsmanship now," Su Xuan replied in earnest.
"Not bad."
Rosaline nodded, satisfied. Her gaze then shifted to Roxia. "Roxia, put your armor on. I’ll take you home."
"Okay, Auntie."
Roxia quickly stood up and began to don her armor.
Once Roxia had finished putting on her armor, Rosaline led her from the Guild and headed back to Sunset City.
Meanwhile, Su Xuan sat on the sofa and submitted the prerequisite quest.

’I can get a new Trait?’ A pleased expression appeared on Su Xuan’s face when he saw that completing this special quest would grant him one.
He was also a little confused, as this special quest was once again related to the Night Witch. He felt like his connection to her was growing ever deeper.
’But isn’t she dead?’
’No, that’s not right!’
’Thinking about it another way, perhaps the Night Witch’s influence on this country is far greater than I imagined, so much so that her shadow looms everywhere.’
Speaking of the Night Witch...
Su Xuan took the Night Witch’s Demon Eye from his inventory. It was like a gold mine, filled with unknown, mysterious power.
’He hadn’t used this Demon Eye yet, so he had no idea what it did. Maybe it’s similar to the one Princess Vivian has?’
’The power of domination?’
[Use the Night Witch’s Demon Eye?]
"Might as well give it a try."
Su Xuan took a deep breath, steeling himself to receive the Demon Eye’s power!
[Fusing Demon Eye...]
The moment he chose to use it, the Demon Eye emitted a brilliant light and released streams of Magic Power. This power seemed to coalesce into a hand of pure jade, which reached directly for Su Xuan’s left eye.
He then watched as the jade hand closed firmly around his left eyeball and squeezed gently.
"AGH!"
Unable to bear the intense pain, Su Xuan cried out.
"Mr. Su Xuan, what’s wrong?"
"Master~! Are you all right?!"
"President!"
Ivsha and the other girls immediately crowded around Su Xuan, asking worriedly.
"I’m... fine!"
Su Xuan gritted his teeth. The excruciating pain felt as if his left eyeball were actually being crushed, and bloody tears streamed from the socket.
The moment the pain began to fade, a notification appeared in his vision.
