Evolution: From Calamity To Accursed Calamity
Chapter 48: [ - ● Women, so difficult!]
Clementine voiced this in all seriousness, her words turning sarcastic afterward. Her sarcasm was like a biting frost that left no room for warmth.
"Oh, you can always revive them and say: ’It’s alright being weak, you can die as many times as you want, I will keep resurrecting you because I can.’ However, that is just you humiliating them, isn’t it? A torture from which the two cannot escape, one which they must suffer because of your own naivety."
SIGH!
Aezaleon, on the other hand, massaged his temples, glancing at her with a speechless gaze. "There genuinely wasn’t any need for you to give me this lecture, you know," he said in a weary tone.
"A few words would’ve been more than enough. It’s not like I want my women to remain weak; I just don’t agree with a method of self-harm. However, now I know that the development of every parameter is a must to become truly strong. So, despite my disagreement, I wouldn’t mind their actions so long as they don’t go overboard," he defended himself firmly.
He hadn’t thought much of his actions before, but now he realized that the three were highly conscious of his reaction to their actions—the reason behind their aggressive response to his displeasure.
’Women, so difficult. Misunderstanding just about anything.’ He exhaled again. Even the ancient vampiress was no exception here. Their logic was a labyrinth of silk and thorns, beautiful yet dangerous to navigate.
"Okay girls, let’s focus on the matter at hand. We will discuss this later," Aezaleon voiced suddenly, changing the topic. "Aphryne, is there anything else worthwhile you gained from this endeavor?" he questioned, looking toward her.
Alas, she shook her purple-red head. "No, sadly I was not able to comprehend any concepts because of the pain and also because I focused most of my attention on my cores," she replied with a touch of regret.
"It’s alright, don’t be sad. We will be using most of the metals here on you and most of the energy stones on Auguszta. There are a lot of resources, so you will eventually comprehend the concepts too."
"Now that you mention it, I just remembered that my proficiency in most of my comprehended darkwind concepts has increased by a good 5-10 percent."
"That’s wonderful news," Aezaleon smiled, patting her head and making her purr. "You did great." His praise was a ray of sunlight piercing through the tension of the cavern.
Subsequently, he looked at Clementine. "Now, you do your thing too."
She nodded and stretched her hand forward, summoning a drop of blood above her palms. Simultaneously, she used her mastered Extreme concept of [Blood Density] to increase its mass exponentially, making it heavy. The drop became a tiny, condensed anchor of reality, pulling at the very space around it.
The drop shone in a deep sanguine hue on reaching the critical density. It happened in a moment—an instant—as it collapsed inwardly, noiselessly. Afterwards, from it shot out innumerable imperceptible filaments of dense and heavy blood in all directions.
Their speed was simply unimaginable as they penetrated the ground, the ceiling, and the walls instantly. Clementine closed her eyes, focused. Connecting all these blood filaments to every single one of the primary and legendary energy stones in this cavern.
The location and the distance didn’t matter as the blood absorbed them all immediately. Effectively, she took them into the internal storage she got through her mastered Extreme concept of [Scarlett Archive] without damaging the internal structure of the ground, ceiling, or the walls.
Which she would’ve, if she were to take them out forcefully, thus preventing the collapse of the cave and also accomplishing her goal easily.
"It’s done," Clementine opened her eyes and announced in her usual calm voice.
"Already...!" Aezaleon blinked. Indeed surprised but also confused. "I don’t see the energy stones or the wind elemental metal."
"I have yet to retrieve the metals. As for the energy stones...!" she responded, doing an internal count of the energy stones she retrieved. "There are a total of 370 legendary energy stones and 5,300 primary energy stones. Enough for you to become a Monarch, if you were to also absorb the majority of the Dark Galyods."
Aezaleon nodded. "So there are enough energy stones for Auguszta to evolve and become a Pureblood Monarch Calamity."
Clementine smiled.
Whereas, even though Auguszta had not shown any reaction outwardly, Aezaleon was perfectly capable of sensing the fluctuations of her happy emotions. He shook his head inwardly. Her joy was a hidden spring, bubbling beneath a silent surface.
Clementine waved her hand, summoning all the energy stones she absorbed into the material world. "So how should I continue?" He questioned. "I think using all of them at once wouldn’t do her any good. There is a chance that her body might not be able to handle such an immense amount of energy. Which would in turn either damage her core permanently or might as well completely destroy it, ultimately killing her," he voiced his concerns seriously.
"AH? I totally forgot," Clementine smacked her head. "How can I be so stupid?" She looked at him with an embarrassed expression. "You are right, husband, the refinement of one’s core is truly time-consuming; we can’t rush it. Looks like my earlier excitement really got into my head, making me such an idiot. How embarrassing."
She sighed. Even she was becoming uncomfortable with how much her personality had changed after her resurrection compared to her previous self, who would’ve never made such an immature mistake. ’Is it perhaps related to me sacrificing a major part of my consciousness?’
"Don’t mind it too much, big sister; nothing truly happened so we are all good. Rather, when can we leave this cave? I want to test the new powers I gained on becoming a part of husband’s family," Aphryne questioned in impatience.
"Huh?" Aezaleon opened his mouth, confused. He was never informed about such a thing. "Have you also gained something, Auguszta?" he asked, his attention focused on her.
"Indeed, I have! It’s a new type of flame I think, a flame-type Elemental Power. And my Burningblight has also gone through a minor evolution. I never got to tell you about it nor examine it, because of how much has happened after I also became a member of your family. From you killing us to contracting us to us coming here right after, then the night and all," Auguszta commented in a lively tone.
"Now even I’m curious about this [Elemental Power] and what kind of minor evolutions your main elements had from my unique skill."
Clementine nodded, inwardly surprised that her two little sisters already had an elemental power. Not wanting to delay any further, she kept her thoughts to herself.
Repeating the same actions as before, she collected all the Dark Galyods too. These were not as numerous because of their nature as metals. There were approximately 230 legendary tier and 3,500 primary tier metals, but their sizes were double or triple that of the energy stones.
The process was completed in under a minute, and with nothing left to do, they went quickly out of the cave.
