Chapter 52: [Chapter 52 ● Vein Severance]

This time, even her regeneration was used against her because of the unique effect of the flame—[Burningblight]. The rot—like an infectious disease, spreading outwardly. With her having not resisted, her regeneration recreated the decay instead—it was corruption.

The Burningblight fed on her vitality, the surrounding immense heat, and the natural energy. The blighted energy was like a parasitic vine, strangling her life force by using her own vitality as soil. Lastly, the internal ignition effect combined with the corruptive decay effect—Clementine had genuinely come so near to death all because of her stupid curiosity.

She truly would not have any face left before her husband if she were to die so pathetically and by the hands of her little sister at that. Such a thought simply terrified her more than the death itself. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"How embarrassing~!"

Clementine muttered in a pained, self-deprecating tone. Feeling the instantaneous corruptive decay eating her body from within. Alas, before the rot, corruption, and decay could spread any further, she took action.

She activated the sub-ability effect one and three—[Vhaerith] and [Draevkhul]—of her ability effect three—[Zyrrvak]—of her ultimate ability—[Kharyx Vraethul]—made on the foundation of her also evolved Flame Elemental Power—[Calamitous True Flame — Vhae Zyrrkhal Absolis!]

The former burned her blood as fuel for regeneration and the latter boosted her physical prowess massively using draconic Riftflame energy. Making her attacks stronger, her movement faster, and her endurance higher.

Also, considering the rank of the former ability and the tier of her blood—the regeneration was immediate and instant. Completely overriding all the effects of the flame—[Burningblight] and [Varkyros]—because hers were far superior to the both.

Her recovery was like a forest regrowing from ash in the blink of an eye. Her wounded form stitched itself back together as though time itself was being reversed by a divine hand.

Clementine looked at Auguszta, who had just steadied herself, after activating such a strong ability. In fact, it hasn’t been more than 3 seconds since the effect—[Instantaneous Corruptive Decay] had started.

So, Auguszta was truly caught off guard as she saw Clementine was back to normal again. Completely healthy without any wounds, and she wasn’t given any time to process this either, as Clementine used another sub-ability of her—[Pride Throne]—to completely end this spar for good.

—[Vein Severance]—

This time, not even the imposed limitations were able to help Auguszta, because this wasn’t a physical attack but a conceptual one coming from an absolute, incomplete or not, that directly destroyed blood’s and soul blood’s fundamental functions.

It was a simple conceptual erasure of what blood did.

However, Clementine made sure to keep the intensity at the lowest minimum possible, only making Auguszta paralyzed while not disrupting the blood flow to her heart, nerves, and brain, so as not to kill her little sister, of course.

The subsequent moment, she appeared before her, grabbed her by the neck, and slammed her on the molten ground.

Auguszta coughed blood but did not feel any pain; in fact, she could not even feel her body at all. She felt like she just existed in something she couldn’t understand. Her physical form had become a phantom, a distant memory she could no longer touch. Her senses were adrift in a vast, empty void where the concept of ’self’ was nothing but a flickering spark.

She looked at Clementine in the eyes. Her gaze wide with pure shock! ...

"What did you do, big sister?!" Auguszta exclaimed in a panicked voice, her words trembling with disbelief. "With all those limitations I put on you, they shouldn’t have let you regenerate so quickly; the contradictions would’ve also resisted your this very action itself. So, how are you back to normal so quickly?"

She questioned, not concerned about herself one bit. Her eyes squinted. "Moreover, just what did you do to me, big sis? I can’t feel anything. It’s like I never even had a body to begin with; it feels too weird. Also, how are you so fast? Your speed should be much lesser than mine, and even lesser when I’m in my current form, but I couldn’t even see a flicker of your movement. How? How? Is the gap between us truly so much??"

She shot question after question after question. Clementine’s lips curled.

"Just how much were you underestimating your big sister, little sissy, to even think that you, a mere pureblood calamity with a natural core, can stand a chance against me, a Primordial Sovereign?" she asked in pure amusement, her voice dripping with playful condescension.

"Let’s not even mention my other 4 bloodlines and cores; did you really think a mere elemental power born on the foundation of two Utmost Laws, which you haven’t even gained an initial level proficiency in, can defeat me? Even though I do not have an elemental power carrying the sources of two Utmost Laws, mine is still stronger than yours."

"It’s an Archon rank Elemental Power, a monarchic flame born from the fusion of True Illusion, Bloodmatter Obliteration, Corruption, Draconic Supremacy, Calamitous Light-incandescence, and something more forbidden from our dear husband’s side. An ultimate flame born from my and his Absolute Ability, good little sister~!"

Auguszta’s lips parted in total stupefaction! All her glee for having such a good power was gone. Just hearing her big sister’s words, she felt like hers was nothing; what contradiction, what limitation?

"Okay little wifey~ that’s enough!" Aezaleon intervened, his voice carrying a teasing warmth. Grabbing the bad girl from behind and lifting her up by the shoulders. Clementine blinked at the unique experience. Glancing at him.

"What are you doing?" she inquired with a perplexed expression, her eyes widening in surprise.

He put her down. Giving her a small flick on the forehead.

"Oow!" she made a cute noise, pouting as she rubbed the spot.

"She is your little sister; you don’t have to be so harsh on her," he voiced gently while pinching her cheeks. "Lovely Clementine, tell me, did you truly believe that you were going to lose, let alone die because of going casual on this so-called spar?"

Aezaleon asked, his expression amused. He had certainly felt her emotional fluctuations after all. Clementine gave him an annoyed look. More than his actions, she really didn’t like that he was correct.

"Anyhow, even though the spar was brief and there also wasn’t much physical combat..." Aezaleon continued, waving his hand to dismiss the tension. Aphryne—on the other hand, helped Auguszta to her feet.

"...It was still a nice experience observing a distinctive element such as Varkyros being used in the battle. Although there wasn’t much utilization of the essence itself, but more of the power it possessed," he added at the last, musing over the enigma of the flames. He remembered that it was still a mystery what the flames of Varkyros could really do, as Auguszta had not used them much.

He surveyed the destroyed surroundings; it was totally in ruin. Fortunately, Clementine had already sensed him approaching her and had already neutralized the radiations, the thermal heat, and the corruptive decay of Burningblight, as well as the residual limitation field of Varkyros, along with freezing the molten ground, so Aezaleon and Aphryne had no problem coming here despite the devastation.
