Evolution: From Calamity To Accursed Calamity
Chapter 73: [ - ● The Paradox of Velith Frost!]
Soon they were on their way towards Varion.
The journey continued at a measured pace, not hurried at all.
During this time, not being able to suppress her curiosity anymore, Aphryne probed Anastasia about the deep details of her current status, of what she had gained after her transformation, and how powerful she was now.
The primary subject Anastasia briefed them on was the sudden evolution of her main element, which was [Elvin Frost].
As a Frost Elf, she naturally possessed it since birth; in fact, all the other pureblood and above Frost Elves had it too. For those of normalblood, the Information was much diluted, so they were only capable of comprehending the normal frost element.
The main quirk [Elvin Frost] was known for was its distinctive characteristic of freezing physical and metaphysical structures from within, alongside its wide-area control. It was also highly suppressive, but only because by its very nature it was an element focused strictly towards Sealing, Restriction, and Confinement.
The more one evolved it existentially by becoming a High Elf, an Arch Elf, or qualitatively by becoming a Monarch, a Sovereign, or an Alpha, the more its unique effects and capabilities expanded, becoming increasingly versatile.
But its foundational characteristic always remained the same sealing, restriction, and confinement, never diverting. That would only ever happen with a rare Mutation.
Every evolution moved it from sealing and freezing matter from within to doing the exact same with volatile energy. Afterwards, the scale went towards metaphysical energies like complex emotions, the soul, illusions, curses, dreams, and karmic entanglement—the causality links of the world. It could affect abstract matters like the void, space, time, dark matter, soul matter, and similar things. It could bind concepts, laws, complex structures, abilities, memories, existences, and many other aspects.
—[Note: Don’t follow the order too strictly. It is quite chaotic currently as I’ve yet develop the perfect evolution for the Elvin Frost].
However, Anastasia’s element did not evolve in the traditional line of [Elvin Frost] this time. Now, as a Calamity of an entirely unknown family, the fundamental nature of her frost had changed completely.
It had become [Velith Frost].
Anastasia’s element now worked directly on the principles of soft stillness and controlled suppression. It operated by applying absolute stillness to everything that could change, interact, or move; whether it be matter, energy, or raw information.
This made it a complete control-based destructive element functioning across both physical and abstract levels.
Velith Frost was not only capable of slowing down the movements of its chosen targets, but it also heavily delayed their time perception and action timing, resulting in combat actions occurring much later than intended and creating total disruption in both the physical and temporal sensational functions of the targets.
It was also fully capable of suppressing all forms of active energy, including highly unstable or exotic types, by drastically reducing their ability to interact and transfer force. Even highly volatile concepts or laws became manageable and weakened under its presence.
It possessed a vast array of defensive, offensive, and support-type characteristics because of its controlled-destruction-based foundation working continuously on Change, Interaction, and Movement.
Nevertheless, to fully explore its apex potential, Anastasia had to spend a lot of time and discover it slowly, because currently she only held a basic idea of its overall capabilities. Which she didn’t even know if she was capable of utilizing properly at her current level of strength.
For example, the deep information in her head told her that it was completely possible for her to create highly chaotic and destabilized zones by simply severing the interaction between time and space through stillness. Alternatively, she could create unique zones that stabilized space and forced interactions through her element, reducing chaos across all levels, including spatial distortion and large-scale energy events. Like a massive explosion or a raging shockwave that was compressed and suppressed into something much smaller, delivering a completely controlled impact.
Aside from being destructive by its very nature, the true path of her element was actually leading it directly towards Order and Balance because of its control-type nature. This was so despite her now being a Calamity that obviously stood at the extreme opposite to those two higher concepts.
Overall, just from the mere basics of what [Velith Frost] was capable of doing, Anastasia had so many wild ideas. She even boasted with a proud smile that her element was even capable of fully suppressing Auguszta’s burningblight and Aphryne’s darkwind.
The two girls couldn’t retort to her bold claim either, since their own elements had indeed gone through minor alterations but not a massive, fundamental evolution like hers. They simply agreed that to combat Velith Frost effectively, they would have to rely heavily on their unique Elemental Powers.
However, it wasn’t like Anastasia did not get her own Elemental Power during the transformation.
---
Anastasia was originally a Pure Frost Elf, however, her mother wasn’t a Frost Elf like her; instead, she was a Pure Flame Elf. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Anastasia was who she was because her father, as a highblood, was also a Frost Elf—a High Elf. So his blood was obviously more dominant, and it had devoured her mother’s line completely while she was still developing in her womb. In simple words, her blood retained the dormant information of both elven races, which was why she was also capable of using the flame element despite being a frost elf, though it was never her main element for obvious reasons.
Nonetheless, this unique elemental duality of hers triggered something incredible during her transformative evolution when her blood was changing its origin.
The new blood devoured her previous one thoroughly; it was not even a real battle despite both bloodlines being of the same tier.
With the total consumption, the calamity blood also extracted the information about the previous her and about her two elements that were also two extremes existing simultaneously.
It was a known fact that they should not exist in the same vessel; they would always fight for dominance, as it was their very nature to oppose the other. Such internal chaos always resulted in the vessel’s utter destruction.
