Extra's Pov: The Goddess Wants Me To Conquer Milfs
Chapter 61: The Tear of the Underworld
{We interrupt this live feed with breaking news... According to reports, seven origin academies that were supposed to conduct their entrance tests today have suffered catastrophic casualties.}
{Reports say this was a planned attack, coordinated by hidden factions to deprive the new era of the majority of its geniuses.}
{The Origin Department is currently under immense pressure to uncover the truth behind the incident. If even an academy’s entrance test can be infiltrated in broad daylight, then nowhere may truly be safe anymore. Parents across the nation are already demanding answers.}
Multiple news channels broadcast the unfolding events across the world.
Yet far from the turmoil, within the artificial origin gate...
"Logan," Seraphina called out, her eyes filled with shock and a complicated blend of emotions.
"You’ve done the academy a great service today. Origin Academy won’t forget what you did here." She finished with a slight nod.
"Thank you, Principal." Although Logan hadn’t acted with such an objective in mind, how could he reject a reward?
Seraphina shifted her attention back toward the students.
"I’m sure you are all exhausted from the events that transpired today. The results for this year’s entrance test are cancelled. The rest of you will write a physical test tomorrow to determine your entrance into the academy."
She spoke carefully, weighing every word.
A few students with lower-ranked origin abilities immediately lit up with excitement.
If they could pass the physical test, then entering the academy would become far easier.
The most prestigious academy in the country.
The allure of it was something most people couldn’t resist.
"Logan," she turned back toward him, "you have been granted a free pass into the academy without the need for a second entrance test."
The moment her words landed, it was like a bomb had exploded among the students.
Gasps echoed through the area.
None of them could protest. After all, they had witnessed Logan’s strength firsthand.
"Thank you, Principal." Logan smiled once more.
"We shall return."
Seraphina gave the order, then crushed another spatial jade scroll, the same method they had used to arrive at the origin gate.
The jade scroll shattered apart, its fragments twisting together as a new portal formed, rotating violently in the air.
"Everyone should leave. After the entrance test tomorrow morning, academic activities will begin immediately."
The instant her words faded, the students rushed into the portal with visible relief etched across their faces.
Logan casually flicked a coin.
It rolled to a stop under the control of his spatial telekinesis, then shattered apart.
In the next instant, he appeared at the precise location with Snow in his arms.
Daenerys gave Logan a charming wink before stepping through the gate as well.
One after another, the students passed through the portal and returned to the real world.
The moment they saw the familiar blue skies and towering skyscrapers once more, immense relief flooded their hearts.
Some of them began crying.
In the morning, they had been excited children dreaming of enrolling into the prestigious Origin Academy.
Now, by evening, more than half of them were dead beneath the claws of beasts and the blades of assassins.
It was unbearably tragic.
...
The principal and instructors moved to console the surviving students.
Logan felt no need to remain with the crowd, so after informing Seraphina of his departure, he quickly left and headed back toward his apartment.
Daenerys remained behind with the principal.
Eventually, they still had to investigate what had led to the assassination attempt. It was obvious this had all been planned from the start.
...
Logan continued toward his apartment.
At first, his heartbeat remained steady.
But the thought of meeting Evelyn again, of seeing her once more, slowly caused it to quicken.
One beat.
Then another.
Until eventually, it thundered against his chest so violently it almost felt as though it would burst free at any moment.
Logan arrived before the apartment door.
He exhaled softly, inserted the key, twisted the handle, and stepped inside.
The moment he entered, he paused slightly.
’Astra...’
He didn’t need to complete the command.
The system could already analyze Logan’s emotions, read his thoughts, and understand exactly what he needed in this moment.
Instantly, the shimmering silver pearl appeared before him.
This time, it didn’t simply materialize.
The room dimmed subtly, the pearl’s pale glow becoming especially radiant beneath the fading evening light.
Logan stared at it silently, his breath catching in his throat.
Subconsciously, a strange whisper seeped into his heart.
Knowledge.
The method to use the mysterious object.
Based on the information flowing into his mind, this was a tear left behind by a demi-god whose origin ability was tied to death itself.
After the demi-god’s death, the tear had condensed into this form, gaining the ability to connect with the underworld, the place where every soul from the Origin World was sent after death for roughly a month before judgment and reincarnation.
To use it, one only needed to think about the person they wished to see while clutching it tightly.
There was only one person Logan wanted to see.
He held no emotional attachment to his previous world or life.
There was only one thing his heart still clung to.
Evelyn.
And so Logan thought about her.
About the first time they met, and the warning he gave her.
About the final day they spent together.
About how many times he reassured her she wouldn’t die, only to fail her in the end.
Would she be disappointed in him for breaking his promise?
Would she...
Logan’s thoughts abruptly halted as Evelyn’s warm, gentle smile surfaced within his mind, swallowing everything else whole.
His vision blurred.
Logan thought he wasn’t crying.
Until tears blurred his vision completely.
Without Logan noticing, the room darkened further while an eerie chill spread through the air.
The weight buried deep within Logan’s heart...
He was about to face it.
The lights flickered once.
Twice.
Then died completely, plunging the apartment into darkness.
Still, the shimmering tear continued illuminating the room, its pale warmth carrying a strange coldness that seeped into the soul.
The world itself seemed to hold its breath as one man reached out toward the person he loved most.
And in the silence...
His call was answered.
"Logan..."
A soft voice drifted through the darkness.
Unmistakable.
Logan could never forget her voice.
Not in this lifetime.
Or any other.
His body trembled as he slowly raised his gaze.
Then, a single word escaped his lips.
"Evelyn..."
Author’s Note: I wanted to make the Chapter longer, but I felt this made for a perfect cliffhanger. The next Chapter will be released in exactly 4 hours. Chapter Title: Logan x Evelyn. Thank you for understanding!
