Chapter 60: The Day a Legend Was Born

The entire world resumed as though nothing had happened.

The students buzzed excitedly at the fact that the assassination had been so easily thwarted by Logan, Ethan and... a cat?

However, as they stared at Snow, they knew the cat was far from ordinary.

"Hey, man." A hand patted Logan’s shoulder.

The dazed look in Logan’s eyes cleared slightly.

He turned to Ethan.

He had noticed him earlier. Logan wasn’t completely certain, but there was only one character that had ever been written with such a description.

’Could it be him?’ Logan’s thoughts lingered. ’My protagonist?’

He couldn’t be fully certain. The novel was still far from starting. Ethan had no right to appear this early.

"My name is Ethan," Ethan offered a friendly smile. "Thank you for saving us."

Ethan bowed politely.

’They even share the same name.’ Logan’s suspicions deepened.

Ultimately, he kept his thoughts to himself. There were more pressing matters for now. Later, he would deal with the complications surrounding his protagonist.

"My name is Logan." Logan nodded lightly.

Just like that, the author and his protagonist shared a brief exchange of glances.

One harbored suspicions about the other, while the other remained completely unaware he stood before his creator.

Logan no longer paid much attention to Ethan as he turned back toward the cat.

Just then, he paused.

The solid object that shimmered like liquid still floated before him.

Logan’s eyes shifted faintly.

Stretching out his hand, he caught it, and his heart immediately began thundering inside his chest.

He still remembered what the turtle had said.

If he could use this... then Evelyn...

He could meet her again.

His pulse quickened violently at the thought.

He knew he couldn’t do it here, however. The place was far too exposed.

He needed privacy. A special chamber where it would be only the two of them.

With that in mind, he ordered Astra.

’Astra, store this object in the system space.’

Astra obeyed without question, and the object vanished from his grasp.

Ethan looked at Logan in confusion after noticing him suddenly freeze.

Just as he was about to speak, Logan resumed walking toward the cat.

Snow was being showered with attention by most of the students.

A few even danced around it with bright smiles.

However, Snow couldn’t be bothered with any of them.

He looked exhausted, lying idly against the rocky terrain beneath him.

Logan observed Snow more carefully.

The cat wasn’t being lazy.

It looked genuinely too drained to walk away or even use its space-origin ability.

’It seems copying a god-grade ability took a lot out of him,’ Logan thought as he quickened his pace toward the little cat.

He was also curious about what a god-grade origin ability could truly do.

If his guess wasn’t wrong, this already existed beyond the limits of an origin path.

After all, origin paths only extended to SSS-rank.

’So there’s something beyond origin paths?’ Logan tried to come up with a name for it, but his mind remained blank.

This world was no longer within his control as its original author.

Now, everything was being orchestrated by fate.

The moment the crowd noticed Logan approaching, they immediately slowed their movements and parted to make way for him.

A few glanced at him with unconcealed curiosity as they murmured among themselves.

This was the man.

The myth.

A living legend.

He had eliminated every rank 2 beast before challenging rank 3 origin beasts alone and emerging victorious.

Then, he proceeded to slaughter the assassins who had infiltrated the trial to take their lives.

Everyone was curious about the true extent of his strength.

Logan’s gaze briefly swept across Lady, and she instantly felt her soul nearly leave her body.

His eyes were cold.

Freezing.

Overwhelmingly manly.

His white hair fluttered softly in the wind, catching the pale light overhead.

Logan bent down and picked Snow up.

"You really look like one hell of a deadbeat." Logan chuckled lightly as he lifted the little cat into his arms.

Snow rolled its eyes at the remark and ignored him completely.

Cradling the snow-white fur in his arms, Logan distanced himself from the crowd.

Ding!

He flicked a coin toward a nearby mountain.

The moment it struck the ground, it shattered.

The next instant, the two vanished.

The crowd stared in shock, and some students instinctively wanted to head toward the mountain, but ultimately restrained themselves.

"Where are the instructors? Isn’t the test supposed to be over already?"

The timer had long since run out, and the points above everyone’s heads had vanished, signifying that their scores had already been acknowledged.

After the spectacle they had witnessed that day, the crowd only wanted to return home to the warmth of their beds.

Time passed.

One minute.

Two.

Ten.

A hundred.

In what felt like the blink of an eye, more than six hours had passed.

The students grew increasingly restless, fully understanding that something had definitely gone wrong.

Their thoughts drifted back toward the earlier assassination attempt.

If it wasn’t for Logan, wouldn’t they have all died here?

A chill spread silently through their hearts at the realization, and their gratitude toward him deepened even further.

"Hey, what’s that?"

Suddenly, a student’s voice sliced through the chatter.

Immediately, everyone looked upward and noticed a tear forming in the sky itself.

It expanded slowly.

Then wider.

And wider still.

Until the skies burst apart.

"Principal!" a student exclaimed, never imagining they would be this relieved to see their instructors.

"LOGAN... LOGAN?!"

A sharp voice pierced through both the air and the excitement of the students.

Logan lazily lifted his gaze, instantly recognizing the voice as Daenerys’.

An awkward smile tugged at his lips.

Daenerys’ eyes swept across the crowd like a hawk searching for prey.

When she failed to spot Logan immediately, fear seized her heart, dragging it straight into the abyss.

Just then, beneath the pressure of her overwhelming aura, one student finally managed to struggle out a few broken words.

"In... Logan... mountain..."

The student gasped desperately for air after speaking.

Daenerys instantly snapped her eyes toward the mountains.

At the center peak, the tallest of them all, she spotted Logan sitting casually at the summit, his gaze drifting downward like a god silently judging mortals below.

"Logan!"

Daenerys had never expected she could feel this much excitement.

She moved instantly, crossing the distance in a blur and reaching the mountain peak almost immediately.

Before Logan could react, she wrapped her arms around him, pressing his head straight into the soft flesh of her massive bosom.

Logan felt her unique fragrance engulf him completely.

Her chest trembled faintly as she buried her face in his hair.

"I knew you weren’t going to die." Her voice shook slightly.

Logan’s face was already burning with embarrassment.

Below, the students stared.

So did the principal, vice principal, and every instructor present.

At this moment, Logan and Daenerys no longer looked like student and instructor.

They looked like lovers.

Everyone exchanged strange glances with one another.

Daenerys sensed the suffocating silence around them and slowly distanced herself from Logan.

She could feel everyone’s eyes boring into the two of them.

"What the hell are you all staring at? Never seen a master and disciple reunion before?" she snapped with a glare.

Immediately, the students lowered their heads, suppressing their reactions as they desperately tried to dissolve the awkward atmosphere.

Daenerys leaned closer and whispered softly.

"Just as promised... I have a pleasant surprise for you."

Her voice dripped with sultry seductiveness that sent a sharp tingle down Logan’s spine.

’This woman... is going to be the death of me...’ Logan thought grimly as he tried to imagine what kind of surprise Daenerys had prepared for him.

Meanwhile, Seraphina gathered information about everything that had transpired while they had lost contact with the origin gate.

Again and again, the same name floated effortlessly from everyone’s lips.

Logan.

Logan.

Logan.

After hearing the stories of what he had done, silence settled over them.

Their gazes slowly returned to the man in question.
