Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God
Chapter 2281 - 1026: Where There’s an Aberration, There’s Something Amiss (Part 3)
The Burning Flames Queen, having suffered many losses, was well-prepared this time. Tens of Corpse Burning Flame Spirits soared into the sky, each surrounded by no less than a hundred ghostly figures resembling humanoid flames.
These Flame Ghosts are a specialty of the Flame Bone Territory, and there’s an extremely low probability of them being born in the soul pools bound to the souls of the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits.
They are a fusion of flame and negative energy. Although they can’t launch unique soul infusion attacks like the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits, they can freely shoot flame arrows or flame spears. If they get close to the enemy, and even enter the enemy’s body, they cause internal combustion damage similar to soul infusion, although relatively weaker.
Ice Arrow.
All Knights on the flying zombies drew their Ice Magic Wands.
A large barrage of ice arrows rained down from the sky.
These ice arrows meant little to the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits but were lethal to the Flame Ghosts.
If three to five hit simultaneously, these Flame Ghosts would vaporize on the spot.
Hou!
The Corpse Burning Flame Spirits roared in anger.
They charged at the flying zombies at full speed, leaving the Flame Ghosts behind.
The flying zombies clearly knew the power of the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits and continued shooting ice arrows while pushing their mounts to flee in the opposite direction, like a flock of startled birds.
Because they knew that the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits had a speed advantage, fleeing in groups would only make them easy targets.
Very soon, some flying zombies were caught up by the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits.
The Corpse Burning Flame Spirit enveloped the flying zombie and its knight, with the crimson flames boring into the zombie’s body.
In the blink of an eye, the flying zombie turned into a massive flame.
While burning, it chased its former companions.
More uniquely, their flight speed visibly increased, indicating the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits not only burnt their bodies but also enhanced them to some extent.
These flying zombies burned fast, and by the time one caught up with the next victim, both the rider and mount were nearly incinerated.
The Corpse Burning Flame Spirit hesitated not at all to discard this victim and pounce on the next flying zombie, repeating the process, quickly engulfing it in flames.
As it left the scene, the flying zombie and its mount disintegrated into a pile of ash, scattered in the air.
However, there were too many flying zombies, too dispersed.
The slaughter speed of the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits slowed, spending most of the time in pursuit.
Some flying zombies quickly learned tactics, drawing the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits away while others circled around to attack the vulnerable Flame Ghosts, extinguishing many into ghostly dust.
Yet, the Corpse Burning Flame Spirits couldn’t risk grounding the Flame Ghosts, since doing so last time led the flying zombies to turn on their ground forces with large-scale slaughter.
The battle in the air raged back and forth fiercely.
"Do you really take me for a brainless fool, pulling this trick right under my nose?"
Typically at the vanguard, this time the Burning Flames Queen remained in a state of invisibility, quietly trailing the main undead air force, those fifty or so Winged Night Shadows.
Where there’s anomaly, there must be intrigue.
She wanted to see what gimmick the Corpse King was up to this time.
To avoid detection, the Burning Flames Queen kept her distance, just barely keeping up with this group.
The Winged Night Shadows evidently had a clear target, dispersing upon reaching their destination to form a massive airborne encirclement, clearly preparing to ambush some aerial target.
Moreover, the ambush target was substantial, the aerial encirclement unusually large, spanning several kilometers. To avoid unnecessary alarm, the Burning Flames Queen dared not approach too closely, instead choosing to quietly wait.
To become one of the four High Tier Undead Lords of the Plains of Bone, the Burning Flames Queen relied on much more than sheer martial might.
Her usual hot-tempered demeanor was nothing but a façade.
It was meant to confuse enemies, and those who mistook it for her true nature, crafting strategies based on this assumption, had already fallen into her trap.
Such was the case this time.
The Corpse King hadn’t expected the Burning Flames Queen, upon discovering their secret plans, to restrain herself from attacking and instead silently follow behind them, becoming the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole waiting behind.
"What is that?"
A tinge of doubt crossed the Burning Flames Queen’s mind.
A Flying Skeleton Undead, unlike any she had seen, swept past her from a short distance away.
Undead Divinity! Slaughter Divinity!
So that’s it.
In the next second, the Burning Flames Queen came to a sudden realization. Although she couldn’t identify the Flying Skeleton Undead, she recognized the power it carried.
It was unmistakably the power of that foreign Defiler.
The Corpse King aimed to ambush the Defiler’s air recon troops.
The Burning Flames Queen did not kindly warn them, opting instead to watch quietly, intent on gauging the Defiler’s strength for her next move.
Boom!
A tremendous explosion echoed out of the encirclement.
The Winged Night Shadows’ invisibility proved ineffective against the Flying Skeleton Undead, revealing themselves instantly, prompting the enemy to attack without hesitation.
Indeed, they belonged to the Defiler!
Seeing the opponent’s attacking style, the Burning Flames Queen confirmed their identity, as it mirrored that of the Giant Bone King, using the bone cannon to maximize physical power.
Such an attack posed a considerable threat even to the Burning Flames Queen, let alone the Winged Night Shadows.
Those launching the ambush, the Winged Night Shadows, were clearly aware of the weapon’s power and dared not allow the enemy to close in, favoring remote attacks directed by the Spellcaster Knights on their backs.
Despite facing numerous enemy opponents, the Flying Skeleton Undead showed no fear.
Such impressive speed, such a unique flight method.
What truly lit up the Burning Flames Queen’s eyes was the singular acceleration method of the Flying Skeleton Undead.
The bone weaponry on its wings served not only as weapons but also as ejectors, propelling the body forward, accelerating to a terrifying speed in a short time.
She saw a potential application in it.
While she could not replicate the bone weaponry, the principle of the skeleton ejector was exceedingly simple: using energy bursts to provide forward momentum.
