Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2280: Tonight It’s His Turn to Work Hard
Sylvan Cheney felt sorry for her after standing for five minutes: "You sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the sofa. I promise not to disturb you, okay?"
Jasmine Yale was also tired, truly exhausted.
In the middle of the night, with nowhere to go, she glanced at him lightly: "You can’t always cheat me like this."
"I’m serious."
"Okay."
Jasmine didn’t stand on ceremony with him and slept on Sylvan Cheney’s big bed.
The whole bed was hers, and she slept more comfortably. She hugged the blanket tightly and almost curled herself up in the pillow.
The pillow carried his scent.
Sylvan Cheney breathed a sigh of relief, he really did sleep on the sofa.
The sofa wasn’t large, and he was tall, so he could only curl up awkwardly, covering himself with a thick blanket.
This sleep, Jasmine was very comfortable.
The baby in her belly probably felt tired too and did not bother her.
...
The next day was a cloudy day.
The sky was gloomy, surrounded by dense clouds.
Jasmine moved her arm slightly, only feeling sore in her arm, her waist also aching, and she didn’t want to get up.
"Sylvan Cheney... Sylvan Cheney..." She called him hazily with her eyes closed.
"Awake?" Sylvan Cheney heard her and hurried to the bedside.
He didn’t sleep well in the latter half of the night, woke up with a headache in the morning, and only after a run and shower did he feel fully awake.
"What time is it." She hugged the pillow, not opening her eyes, just vaguely asking.
"Nine thirty." Sylvan replied, "I bought breakfast."
"What is there to eat."
"Cheesecake, toasted bread, sandwiches, red bean paste, lots of things. To drink, there’s soy milk, milk, juice, you can choose."
Perhaps it was Sylvan’s gentle voice or good attitude that made Jasmine not feel grumpy upon waking, she chuckled lightly: "Why did you buy so much?"
"We’ll eat together, we’ll finish it."
"You sobered up?"
"Hmm? Hmm..."
"I don’t want to get up, I still want to sleep, you eat."
"Then sleep a bit more, you had a hard time last night, next time, I’ll have the hard time."
"..." Jasmine found it strange hearing that, what did he mean by next time he’d have the hard time at night?
But she was really too tired, yawned, turned over, and went back to sleep.
Sylvan carefully tucked her in, not disturbing her again, quietly closing the bedroom door as he left.
He first had some breakfast himself, sitting alone by the window, feeling somewhat listless.
The weather was bad, the sky gloomy, even the coffee he usually loved didn’t taste right.
After the meal, he sat on the sofa outside, reading the newspaper, turning the pages one by one, then handled a few emails.
Just as Sylvan’s fingers were tapping on the keyboard, Jasmine, wearing slippers on the carpet, opened the door and came out.
She was already washed up, not expecting Sylvan to have bought her new personal care items when he went out.
Pink towel, grass green rinse cup, new toothbrush, new toothpaste, new facial cleanser... everything was new, the colorful items mixed among his heap of gray and black men’s items were particularly conspicuous, yet it gave her a marvelous feeling.
"Sit down and have something to eat." Sylvan made room for her beside him.
Jasmine was also wearing the new pajamas Sylvan bought, pink ones.
She didn’t quite understand why he bought pink things, did he think all girls might like pink?
However, she indeed quite liked pink.
