Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 169. Meeting with the Ambassador
While the couple departed the Shadow Moon Pack, elsewhere at Coldshade City, the deal with the government was being finalized. The ambassador sent was going through a set of footage of supernatural creatures. His two subordinates sitting beside him watching the same thing that he was watching with frowns of shock and awe etched on their faces.
He saw how people who were thought to be humans shifted shapes and became animals and how humans drank blood from other humans and how they ruthlessly killed humans and even other nonhumans.
"Ambassador Kent, do you think this could be real?" one of them asked. His eyes trained on the screen of the laptop.
"It could be actors, shooting a scene. " The other said. What was displayed on the screen was unbelievable.
Astounded as he was, it proved the existence of other creatures among the human race and it was unsettling. Their violent behavior was enough to call for national security.
Pushing the laptop further on the desk, he leaned in his seat, and elbow on the arm of the chair and his chin placed on his knuckles. His embers stared into Jarred’s. "How long have you known about this? And how many countries have they inhabited?" The ambassador asked.
Jarred gave a sweet and innocent smile that appeared even brighter than the sun that shone brightly up on the horizon. His smile portrayed how happy he was to answer that question. He was delighted to share his knowledge with the world to enable him to have access to the military powers of the world’s nations. "It has been almost a decade since I found out about them, Ambassador and my first encounter with them was not a pleasant one. The same can be said about almost everyone in our little organization."
His gaze shifted to Hunter who sat with an uncaring attitude, absentmindedly sipping his soup. The Ambassador followed his gaze and it rested on Hunter as well. "His experience was not any different from mine," Jarred informed. Upon those words, Hunter lifted his gaze and met the eyes of Jarred, he sent a glare before returning his attention to what he was doing. The ambassador nodded his head in understanding.
"As for how many countries they have inhabited," Jarred continued, "They are everywhere, hiding in plain sight under the camouflage of human skins and identities." He enlightened. "My little organization and I have tracked down most of them and have a drawn map but there are some places we are yet to draw out because those places are owned by...." He trailed off, leaving an ominous pause, allowing him to fill the gaps himself.
"Government officials." He started.
The smile that had earlier left Jarred’s lips reappeared, serving as a confirmation of his guess. "Indeed, Ambassador, Kent." He praised. His eyes drifted between the three men as if searching for something.
His gaze was noticed by the two men sitting next to Ambassador Kent, they felt unease and checked on themselves to find if anything was wrong with their countenance but there was nothing. Looking back at Jarred, he offered a smile, they each gave awkward smiles because they did not know what he was looking for or the reason behind his smile.
The Ambassador shut his eyes and massaged his temple. He could not believe that even among the government, these creatures existed. They were in power and none was aware of it. He could only imagine what atrocities they must have been doing.
"How many of these creatures are among the government officials and what power do they hold?" Kent inquired.
Sitting and silently listening to them, Crysta had no intentions of speaking, she was only there because she had agreed to be there and she needed to be present. As she listen to their conversations, she awaited for the moment he would make mention of the switches and perhaps point out that she was one but it seems he was still smart enough not to get the witches exposed. At least not yet.
She did not think that because she cared about the other witches, after what transpired at the coven, she would be a fool and liar if she said she still care about them but because it would implicate her exposing her as a Spell Caster.
"Every Alpha of a shifter pack is in the government, holding positions of authority." He paused and took in the pleasure of seeing the shocked expressions on the faces of the three men sitting with them.
The share number of packs that he was aware existed alone enough to let him know just how many of those creatures are among them, working side by side with them and taking decisions that will serve as rules and laws for the humans. "A typical example is our neighboring City, Moon City. Or as they call it, The Blood Moon Pack." Jarred continued.
He felt content with the expressions the three men were given with each piece of information that he let known to them. It was priceless and he know for certain that at the end of their visit, he would have all the power that he needed.
"But that is not all," He said and the men could not help the deep furrow of their brows. "It has just come to my knowledge that the shifter race and vampires have their supreme leaders. The Supreme Alpha, for the shifter race, and the Lord of Vampires, as the title itself depicts, he is the Lord and leader of the vampire race. These two, are the only ones with absolute power among their races and the strongest of them."
Silence followed his words as they tried to comprehend the situation and the state of the world they had always known to theirs. The earth they thought belonged to the humans. Never had they thought that the creature of myth and fantasy truly existed among humans? The revelation left them feeling like they had been transported into a world of imagination, but they could not ignore the fact that it was the reality that they had just discovered.
"I would like to take this with me," Ambassador Kent said, he took out the flash drive that was connected to the laptop. "That I alone believe you won’t guarantee that everyone else will believe and lend to you the necessary aid, they will take time and some convincing to do so."
"I understand, Ambassador, Kent," Jarred said as if he had all the time in the world to wait but inwardly all he wanted was to hasten the process but he was sure that they will all come crawling back to him asking for his help. He looked at them in scrutiny one last tune before deciding to speak on it. It was time for them to sign their signatures on the paper before it would be taken for the other government officials to sign and make his organization legal to handle the nonhuman affairs.
"I must say, Ambassador, you did pick the right set of people," He said and all of their gazes shifted to him once more. "There isn’t an infiltration amongst your subordinates." He said and smiled at him.
"What do you mean, Mr, Woods? " Ambassador Kent inquired. He was yet to grasp the meaning of his words and required further enlightenment. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"You see, the nonhumans have their weakness, and you three have tested and none was found amongst you." He said and the three men couldn’t help the feeling of dread as they stared at him. "They can not come in contact with silver, it affects them so much that they will be exposed no matter where they were or what they are. The shifters call it Wolfsbane and the vampires, well it’s just silver. In either case, it is harmful to them."
"What would you have done if any of us was to be...?" Kent trailed off after seeing the smile that had made its way to Jarred’s face. Words were not needed when that smile alone spoke volumes of what was unsaid. His eyes stared at Jarred for a moment before moving to the glass of water placed on the table in front of him which was yet to finish drinking but it was already more than half empty. He could not believe that he was a test subject without his realization. He was in danger of death and he didn’t even know it.
The gobsmacked expressions on the faces of the other two men also spoke of their shock, disbelief, and anger toward what they had just learned.
"I am sorry for being disrespectful, ambassador, but I needed to be sure of whom I let into my home and businesses. With all that, I have told you, you should know that even the man who stands beside can not be trusted and considered human until they have been tested." Jarred said but the Ambassador remained silent as he tried to grab unto his composure.
"Indeed, I understand," He said and Jarred gave him a grateful nod.
While they spoke and went on to sign the contract agreement stating that Jarred will share with the world his knowledge of the nonhumans, while the government shared their power and ammunition, a certain guard who had accompanied the Ambassador keenly listened to their conversation from behind the wall where he stood, hearing every word that was exchanged between them keeping a trained blank expression not to expose himself.
