At The Shadow Moon Pack

Early the next day, Emily was already at the Alpha mansion. It was the day when Kora and Darren will be leaving the pack for a while and she wanted to be there to help her prepare and pack up.

She got to the bedroom and of Darren and Kora, she stood by the door and mind linked her to know if she was awake and alone or if she had company. The last thing that she wanted was to be rude to her alpha.

After the link was ended, Kora opened the door with a yawn, her hair disheveled, she had a sleepy look on her face as she stood as if ready to fall back into bed and shut her eyes close.

"Good Morning, Luna," Emily said and made her way inside the room. The Alpha was already out of the room so there was no reason for her to stand outside when there was work that needed to be done inside.

Kora who was pushed aside by Emily closed the door and followed her into the room. "Isn’t it too early for you to be here?"

"Alpha was already up a long time ago, yet you complained of the time being too early? You are becoming too lazy." Emily said with her hands placed on her hips.

"There, the closet, do what you want in there," Kora said while climbing up from the bed once more.

"Won’t you have a bath?"

"I am tired, I want to sleep a bit longer." She yawns and closed her eye. Seeing this, Emily walked up to her and pulled the cover off her and she open her eyes with a frown etched on her face, displeased by the act.

"Get up and get ready, you have slept enough." she walked away with the duvet so that she wouldn’t be able to use it again.

Not wanting to stand up and walk to the closet to pick another or struggle with the currently used one with Emily, Kora shifts, Gaia’s thick fur would serve as her blanket. Gaia who was already sleeping did not even bother to stand up and look around, her eyes went shut the moment she registered her environment.

This only made Emily flabbergasted and frustrated. She didn’t know what to do with her best friend. Even her beast was being lazy too. "Gaia," Emily called and she opened her eyes and tilted her head to the side. "Make Kora come back." She said but Gaia dropped her head and closed her eyes again. ’I won’t let you sleep unless you make her return." Emily threatened.

Without much delay, Gaia shifts, and Kora was now seen lying on the bed again Emily laughed triumphantly while Kora could only puff her cheeks. "Good morning again. Now that you are up, let’s begin." Emily said while tugging Kora along with her. "Do you know where you are going now?"

"Are you doing all the so you will find out where we are going?" Kora asked before she could be pushed inside the bathroom.

"No. I just want to make sure you fit in, no matter where you are going, you need to look good and fit in at the same time." Emily replied. "Alpha doesn’t mind how you look, so I am not dressing you up just for him, but for the people who will see you with him. You are the Luna supreme now, you should also dress the part."

"Being the Luna is not about dressing up Emily, you should already know that," Kora stated and turned on the water allowing it to fill the bath. "You are a gamma’s mate, it is only about dressing?"

"I didn’t say it was always about the dress, but you mustn’t look shabby." She replied and Kora sighed. "The right dress can speak a lot about you."

"Have you ever heard a dress talk?" Kora asked and Emiily face palmed.

"You know I don’t mean it literally."

"If you say so." Kora shrugged while she checked the temperature of the water.

"I will go now and make sure that everything you will need for your journey is ready before you are done." Kora gave her a nod.

Emily went back into the room and opened the closet, she was shocked at the several clothes Kora never bothered to wear. But that did not stop the alpha from buying them for her.

without wasting more time, she began picking the clothes that she thought would be ’useful’ for her. Since they were going on a vacation where it would only be the two of them in the house, there was no need to pack up many clothes.

"Is it ready?" Darren asked Leo. He was the one he had assigned to make the preparations for his trip with Kora.

"Yes, Alpha." Replied Leo.

Take care of everything while I am gone, if anything comes up, do what you can to stop it but if you can’t, Call me." He said to everyone in the office with him. It was time he made up for lost time. He would leave the care of the packs to his subordinate, at least this one time.

"We will take care of everything, Alpha," Mateo assured and everyone else nodded.

Darren had never taken a day off since becoming the Alpha supreme, but he always made them take some time off whenever something was wrong with them or they had some personal issues to deal with, sharing their responsibilities with others or taking it himself. Now it was his time to take some time off and no one could oppose the idea.

Darren cast one last glance at the people in the office. There were two witches, a healer, a Beta, and a Gamma, and two strong warriors who he could trust. Though he felt unease at the back of his mind, he was not going to let that stop him. He owed it to her.

He walked out of the office and entered the car to drive to his home where his mate was. At least now he had a place he could call home, and it was wherever she was. He remembered that past when the bond was yet to take effect because she was still too young and smiled. A lot had changed since she came of age, the time was so short yet it felt so long.

The car arrived at the mansion and he came out. From where he stood outside, he could hear Emily’s conversation with Kora, and he smiled. This was another thing that he was grateful to the moon goddess, she had given his mate a friend who didn’t mind her character and personality and even mated her to his Gamma to continue to keep her company.

The thought of the moon goddess had always brought a bad taste to his tongue but it was not the same today. The anger he usually feels at the mere thought of her name was not there. He then proceeded to enter the house and sat on a couch, whilst he listens to their conversation which was mostly Emily speaking.

After a while of sitting and waiting, he climbed up the stairs to meet with them. He opened the door and what he saw nearly had his jaw drop to the grown.

They were tugging a bikini back and forth, where Emily wanted to put it among the selected clothes while Kora wanted it out. Noticing another presence in the room, they both turned towards the door. with an awkward look, Emily let go and scratched the back of her ear nervouslyusely. She could act however she liked with Kora but that didn’t mean she will do the same with her mate who was her alpha. "Welcome back, Alpha," she said with an awkward smile.

Collecting his composure back, he nodded and proceeded to enter the room but left the door wide open. "What is going on here?" He asked, stopping in front of Kora. He had a suggestive look on his face and she could mirth dancing in his eyes she glared at him and then at Emily who was now trying to find a way out of the room without looking weird.

"It’s nothing." She said threw the bra away and he caught it and raised it with one finger in front of her. Feeling embarrassed, She blushed.

"I think this is something," he said with the same suggestive look.

Emily had to excuse herself and leave before things get out of control. She looked at the two who seem to have forgotten her presence in the room and silently walked away without drawing attention.

"It’s nothing," she said and tried to take it from him.

He raised his hand so she won’t be able to reach it. "She is right you know, you are going to need a lot of these." He said but she ignored him and started to jump to reach it.

"Fine, can you give it back now? It’s embarrassing." She said, giving up her struggle.

"You are embarrassed that I am holding your underwear?" He asked with a blank face that she was unable to read him.

"It’s not like that." She tried to explain. He raised a brow and she looked away.

"But you like when I touch you, right?" He asked and she turned red from embarrassment "Alright, I will give it back to you, but you have to take it with you." She glared at him while he smiled. "I am serious."
