Kora ran out of the pack house on Dana’s command running under their feet thanks to her small body. Before she could reach the stairs, two of the vampires had escaped Dana and chased after her, she dashed through not looking back. She went straight to the back of the pack house where she thought there would be fewer of them.

She then ran out and looked for a hiding spot then she spotted a cave to her right, and without thinking twice about it she ran towards it. Though there was the possibility of that being a dead end at the end of the cave, she felt otherwise, like it was calling her.

She was almost caught when she stepped into the cave and the two vampires that were following her burned up and turned to dust the moment they tried to enter the cave. She didn’t see this because she had her back facing them as she ran. She didn’t know how long it has been but she did not want to come out until someone came and got her out.

Inside the pack house, Dana tried to link Lazarus many times but it was to no avail. The link was blocked which left her panicking and gearing for the worst. She couldn’t lose her mate. She just couldn’t. She tried not to cry and stay strong remembering what Kira had said to her earlier this Lazarus will okay, she took deep breaths and calmed her racing and aching mind.

She didn’t dare shift because they were too many of them. The vampires and witches were no longer the only ones she was faced with but there were the Abominations as well. They will kill her easily if she was shifted to her beast now so she focused on her spells which came as a surprise to the assailants who didn’t expect a spell caster to be in the Blood moon pack.

"Dana!" came Lazarus’ voice through the link, he finally noticed that the enemy had to go beyond the border and we were now inside the pack house. He didn’t even realize that he had blocked the link from Dana until he tried reaching out to her.

"Lazarus?" Came Dana’s relief voice. "Lazarus, they are inside..."

"Are you alright?" Lazarus asked. "Is Kora with you?" he asked cutting short. He needed to know if they were alright she was already raving to them as he spoke through the mind link.

"I am fine, but..." she hesitated. She didn’t know Kora had gone, whether she was taken or not Dana did not know and she had no idea what to tell Lazarus right now. "...I can’t find Kora."

"What?!" Lazarus exclaimed.

"I know. I am looking for her now. Please come quick." She urged before cutting the mind link.

Lazars soon arrive at the pack house. He could see Dana pacing back and forth with a panicked expression on her face when she saw his beast, she ran towards him. He shifts as she jumped into his arms. He caught her and she hugged him tight and sobbed into his bare chest.

"I can’t find her. I... I asked her to run during the attack but... But I can’t find her anymore. I am sorry." She said and sobbed harder.

Lazarus stroke her hair lovingly, he had patience with her as he listened to her. He believes she would not do anything that will hurt Kora so he did not question her any further.

"Where last did you find her scent linger?" he asked in a gentle voice.

"There," Dana said and pointed at the back. " But I couldn’t get anything beyond that. It was like she disappeared, Lazarus."

"It’s fine, we will find her," he said, gently caressing her hair. "Stop crying."

With that, Dana stopped her sobs, went inside am brought a pair of pants for Lazarus. " Wear this, let’s go look for her."

Lazarus took the pants and wore them. He led her out to the back. Shifting the air, he could pick up Kora’s scent in the air but it was faint, he tried tracing it beyond but got nothing. It was as if she stood there and disappeared. He frowned. For some reason, he was panicking without even knowing it. He was yet to know what the bond between them was and now he was afraid of harm to falling her? He found it ridiculous.

"Did anyone see the vampires leave with Kora?" Lazarus asked all of his warriors through the mind link.

Raven and Ezra got the message as well. Raven answered, "No, alpha if they did they would have let us know." After he said that, Lazarus cut the link and looked back at his mate. "She didn’t leave the pack, she should be around here, somewhere."

Inside the cave,

The cave looked well taken care of. It was lit with red, green and blue light. There illuminated the cave beautifully and left a warm glow. It was cosy in here and Kora relaxed immediately forgetting about the fight outside completely. She felt at home.

Kora looked at it and saw paintings on its walls, there were paintings of a red wolf, a green wolf and a baby blue wolf. There were so beautiful that she could not stop looking at them, she stretched her hand to touch the paintings on the wall. It felt rough but also smooth at the same time under her touch. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

After waiting for a while and no one came in to kill her or take her, she decided to wait for Lazarus and Dana to come and get her. From how well-kept the place was, she figured it must belong to them so they would sooner or later. She lay on the warm ground and rested her head on her arm and fell asleep shortly.

She woke up when she heard footsteps and voices, She recognised the voices to be that of Dana and Lazarus. She got up and rubbed her eyes to get rid of the sleepiness in her eyes. She then came out and stood at the entrance of the cave she yawned tiredly while still rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand.

As soon as she came to cave’s mouth, her scent hit the nostrils of Dana Lazarus as they both turned instinctively towards her. Seeing her standing so close to the cave was a shocking sight to see.

Lazarus had a complicated look on his face while Dana’s mouth was wide open they did not expect that at all.
