Chapter 191: 191. Your mate is cool

The sun made its presence known in the sky followed by its warm rays that breathed life to all living creatures that depended on it. The birds soared through the sky singing happy morning songs and the butterflies flew over the flower gardens and the trees.

Kora woke with a yawn and a lazy stretch that breathed new life into her bones. She tried to move but realized the arm that was around her and she stayed still. The sparks and the scent were more than enough to let her know whose arms had caged her to himself.

She smiled and kissed his bare chest and she heard a satisfactory groan from him. He was still asleep, which only told her how late he must have come to bed. She stared at his face and caressed it before remembering that he needed some sleep and that what she was doing would wake him up. She put her hand away and nestled her head on his chest. "Sleep a bit more, okay," she said and shut her eyes even though she wouldn’t be sleeping again, she liked being held like this, in his arms.

The time passed and after a few more minutes, Darren opened his eyes and found a smiling Kora and he smiled back at her. "Awake now?" She asked, but he pulled her in for a kiss before sitting up.

"Did I sleep too long?" He asked, but she shook her head. "Did I keep you waiting?" He asked again.

"No, I was just watching you sleep," she replied and he smiled and gave a nod. "You should rest some more, you have been busy since we returned."

"I am well rested now, Love," though he said that, he placed his head on her shoulder and circled her waist with his arm. "I am good as long as I have you here with me." This was true, as long as he had her, he didn’t need to worry about his sleep.

"I will always be here," she said, running her fingers through his thick black hair that always made her wonder how his hair would have been if he allowed it to grow long. It was soft and plentiful.

"Mhm," he hummed and kissed her neck. They stayed like that for a few minutes with none speaking but just enjoying each other’s company. "I want to take you Ghora today, will you come?" He asked her.

"Yes," she was aware of what Ghora was and she was a bit excited to see it with her own eyes. The warriors from Ghora stood out from the crowd when she saw them at her marking ceremony. Though it was not the most pleasant memory to remember, it could not be forgotten either. Whether she liked it or not, it was the night she was marked as Darren’s mate and made Luna supreme. "I will go with you, anywhere," she said and he could hear the assurance in her voice that would have been undetected by other people.

"Thank you," he said and kissed her neck again. "I am lucky to have you, Kora,"

They headed downstairs for breakfast after they had both had a bath and packed up for the trip to Ghora. Breakfast went on smoothly with Lucy and Lucinda accompanying them.

After their breakfast, the couple set out for Ghora with Emily and Levi accompanying them while Mateo stayed back at the pack to manage pack affairs. They would be gone for just a few days. They just needed to make sure that Kora and Emily had a little more intensive training than what they were used to. It was to prepare them for any unforeseen and unprecedented attacks and battles that the future might throw at them.

They drove to the pack boundary and found a group of shifters waiting they and Kira looked at Darren and Levi.

"They will come with us," Darren informed her. These shifters from other packs were here for some training too. They had all seen the stack difference when it came to their battle prowess. They have been surpassed by a huge margin that could only attempt to closer but would only fail.

"Wasn’t this supposed to be a low-key trip?" Kora asked and Emily nodded. She said beside Kora while Darren and Levi sat at the front with Levi driving the car. "Won’t it be easy to be followed d with this many people?"

"We won’t be followed, I assure you," he replied. The car came to a stop right in front of the shifters and he came out of the car and Levi did the same.

"Alpha!" They all bowed.

"I want to believe you have been what to do," he said and they raised their heads and looked at him. "As you go, make sure you are not followed, act recklessly and I will make sure you get what you deserve,"

"We understand, Alpha," one of them spoke on their behalf. They were at least two warrior shifters from every pack present here, even people from the Blood Moon Pack were present. The situation right required experienced warrior shifters and where they were going right now would help provide them. Though it would take some time, the packs were willing to sacrifice being without some of their warriors for a while if it meant having better warriors when they are needed.

The Abominations that the Spell Casters are creating now were stronger than the ones that attacked them in the past and they seem to only get stronger with every attack. Having just a little knowledge of how to tackle them was not helping anymore and they needed more warriors strong and capable enough to hold their ground when faced with them.

"Good," Darren said, "You will all shift and follow me taking different routes," he instructed and there was "Yes, Alpha," from all of them.

"Your mate is cool," Emily whispered trying to make sure that only Koraciukd hear her knowing how keen and sharp the Alpha’s hearing was. Being the supreme Alpha made his senses sharper than any other shifter even the other Alphas and being a Lycan was like a cheat adding to all of that.

Kora smiled and stared at his back, "I know he is," she said and didn’t bother to lower her voice because she knew it was futile trying to talk and make sure he did not hear it. If you didn’t what him to hear, then use a mind link and block him from it.

Emily pouted when she did that but she blushed when she realized that Darren had still heard her. [" You could have tried to bring down the voice even if it’s just a little, now you make me look a fool,"] She invaded Kora’s mind and received a glare.

["And you should have known that you would hear you no matter how low your voice is,"] Kora replied.

"Fine, I should have known but you didn’t help either," she said and folded her arms across her chest.

Outside, Darren who had heard all that they talking about inside held back a uke as he face the shifters in front of him and continued to give instructions
