Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 193. Don’t suspect them, Mate
It didn’t take long for them to be spotted because they were no longer trying to conceal themselves from the humans. At first, when the humans saw them, they thought they were just regular civilians but when they remembered where they were, deep within the Amazon, they became alert.
No regular normal civilian would be seen in a place like this and the number was much. They immediately aimed their weapons at them and started taking slow steps toward them.
The shifters looked at humans without reaction, they just got themselves prepared for any trouble that they might cook up.
"Who are you and what are you doing?" The one who looked like the leader of the hunters asked. They stopped a few feet away from them as they tried to figure out who these people were. Darren’s face looked familiar but they couldn’t remember where they had seen him. It reminded me of who he was.
Darren being the Alpha supreme for the shifters and owning different businesses among the humans which helps employ the shifters who seek office jobs was famously known by the humans too. Just that not many had seen him before. He rarely appears before the humans because he never really liked them to begin with. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
He was not known as a governor or chairperson like the other Alphas, he was known as a businessman among the humans and many had heard his name only and never had the chance to see him. It was always either Leo or Logan who would go out there to hear him or Mateo and Levi whenever there was something that required major and urgent attention. He would rather sit in his office in the pack house and handle all the files and paperwork and then fix what needs to be fixed before sending it to whoever would handle it.
So it was almost impossible to see him unless you were a shifter.
["I don’t have the patience and time for this,"] Kora said through the mind link to Darren, Emily, and Levi.
["Should I order the attack?’] Levi asked. He was excited about it for some reason. He looked at Darren and Kora expectantly.
["No need, I’ll handle it myself,"] Kora said and stepped forward. Roots sprouted from the ground and vines from the trees above stretched down, killing the hunters without giving them the chance for a fight. All the shifters could only stand and watch in awe. Though some of them had seen her during that one certain night that left a bitter taste in the mouths of anyone who remembered it, most of them had yet to meet and know the Luna Supreme and what she was capable of doing. They watched as she got rid of the humans one after another until there was none left.
"Clean up the mess," Darren said to the warriors who were just standing there and staring at his mate.
They all scampered around doing what they had been told to do. He wondered how the hunters might have been able to get inside without the warriors or Lucy and Lucinda knowing it. This whole place was restricted and protected by spells cast by Lucy and Lucinda to keep both humans and nonhumans away. But here there were hunters in his territory yet nothing was known to him or his subordinate.
"You are worried," Kora said. She stood in front of him and tilted her head up so she could look him in the eyes. "What is wrong?" She asked.
"We should have known about them eleven before leaving the pack," he said and those around who heard all looked at him. How was he supposed to know that? They thought inwardly. "Their presence should have been made known to Lucy and Lucinda but that did not happen."
"What do you think is the cause?" She asked. She gave control to Gaia to survey the place and find anything that was out of place around them.
"A counter spell," Darreeb replied. But if that was the case then, they should have known too. They should have felt it when their spell was being lifted or broken or could it be that...? He shook that thought out of his mind. He had won them for quite a long time now, they won’t do that.
"Don’t suspect them, Mate," Gaia said and then pointed at the corpse of a hunter. The spell around her was a bit broken or lifted, they have a spell on them." She said and Darren nodded.
She was right, they had never given him a reason to doubt them before, but even when the spell casters cane for them in the past after raising that the two witches that were neglected by them had become a pair of powerful witches, both individually and together. They have been through rough times, and doubting them was uncalled for.
"Who would do that, Luna?" Levi asked. He had examined the bodies and found nothing unusual about them but he had learned to listen and trust his Luna’s judgment.
The humans could not perform magic so was it possible that they had a spell on them and there are many. They had heard what happened at the facility in Coldshade City, The witch had destroyed half of the facility and then walked out leaving them alone so who could have been responsible for this now? Or did she do this before she left?
"The witch," was her reply.
"Let’s continue," Darren said. They had wasted some time here and it was best to leave because if the hunters were being tracked then they would be found missing soon. It was a good thing that the one who had performed the spell was no longer on their side.
They left that spot and walked deeper and again and soon they could see three shifters of Ghora walking towards them. They had felt the presence of the Alpha and Luna from afar.
"Welcome back Alpha," they said with a big smile before turning to Kora, "Welcome to Ghora, Luna," they said, mowing that it was her first time coming here. They also gave a curt now to the gamma and his mate before turning to head the way but they were stopped by the Alpha.
"We encountered some hunters on those grounds, have their bodies moved to another location far from here so even if they are tracked, they won’t be found here," he said. It was better to be safe than sorry. The humans were stubborn creatures, but as haughty as the shifters or vampires, they had their own stubbornness and it was the kind that they would poke into things that they knew they should stay away from even if it meant hurting each other in the process.
"Understood Alpha," they said and two of them headed in the direction they have
Been directed.
"Go with them," Darren ordered two of those who were among those who had cleaned up the scene.
