Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 201. Both
At Coldshadr City,
David and Jack sat facing Hunter, they had called him to meet them here after hearing of the destruction of the facility. They had also been unable to reach Jarred in any way which annoyed them but they decided to talk to the closest person to him whom they knew.
Right now, they were in the bar owned by Jarred, the same one they had met the first time Hunter had brought them to see him and as they had expected, Jarred was not there either.
"We just want to know the truth, Hunter. Is he dead or alive, and is the mission of the organization still on, it has been brought to a stop and we should take it. matters into our own hands?" David asked.
They had only seen the building and the facility as rubble and heard rumors about what went down but there was none that they could say that it was the truth because there were no survivors from the incident. He and Jack had walked into the destroyed facility and saw his terribly every corpse lying on the ground but they could not find their leader amongst them.
"Jarred is alive but currently undergoing an operation," Hunter finally spoke without looking at them. He found it more pleasurable playing with the can of beer in his hand.
They both drowned at his words but at least they had an answer now.
’What about the mission and those creatures?" Jack asked, taking out a cigarette and lighting it.
"It is still on," came the simple reply of Hunter and gave a skeptical look at him. "The government has decided to get involved but we are still the ones running the organization against the no humans."
The mention of the government came as a surprise to them but it also gave them much better satisfaction knowing that there would be more than a handful of humans going against the creatures that should even exist in the first place. "Are you happy now?" Hunter asked, he raised his head to look at them and Jack smiled and gave a nod but David didn’t respond. "I have business to take care of, I will leave you two now," he said and stood up to leave.
"Thank you, Hunter," Jack said. Hunter stopped and turned to look at him. The way he said it was weird and Hunter didn’t know why he thought he drooled those words out especially his name but he was not alright with it. But Jack had a pleasant smile on his lips like he did nothing and Hunter almost questioned his hearing. He internally shook his head and left the bar.
After he left, David looked at Jack with a raised brow. He may have acted like he didn’t hear a thing, but he did too.
"What?" Jack asked very innocently and David could not help but shake his head.
"Don’t get yourself into unnecessary trouble," he advised and gulped down the rest of the beer left in the can. "Let’s go, we have nothing to do here anymore,"
"Sure," He replied and they soon left the bar.

At the hospital where Jarred was taken, the operation had been completed a few hours ago and he was allowed to sleep with the help of anesthetics.
Hunter arrived and was taken inside the room he stayed in. He didn’t need to provide any special identification documents because they had already been told beforehand that he would be coming as the closest relative to the patient.
Hunter stood and stared at the face of the man on the bed without an expression on his face, incidents like this were expected. They raided packs and hives so it was only natural that they would also receive unexpected visits such as this.
"You are careless to think you could handle them even with a few soldiers." He said to the unconscious man. Jarred may be the head of the organization, but he had no field battle experience so he lacked greatly compared to Hunter. "Couldn’t you just leave them and come back another day?"
"Is that what you have to say to a patient in a sick bed?" JJarred’svoice was heard even though his eyes remained closed. He had gained consciousness and heard all that was said to him.
"What do you expect me to say to you?" Hunter asked. He found a chair somewhere in there and dragged it towards the bed and sat down. "You were reckless, you knew who they were, didn’t you? And your witch? What did you do to her?"
"Crysta didn’t mean to destroy the facility, she was annoyed and angry with me," he said and opened his eyes.
Hunter could not believe that he chose to defend his witch first. What exactly was wrong with his friend? She was a nonhuman, the same creature they were trying to eradicate, wasn’t he being hypocritical?
"Jarred..."
"I know what you want to say," Jarred interjected. "I will handle it. I will talk to her, we still need her," he said.
"We? Or you?" Hunter asked, folding his arms across his chest as he stretched his legs lazily.
"Both," Jarred replied, not denying the fact that he wanted her around for his personal needs too. "But there is a witch I would love to see dead," he clenched his fists when he said that.
"Who?" Hunter asked, intrigued by who it might be.
"The Coven head, Cillia," Jarred said, he stared at the ceiling with a heated and piercing gaze as if to melt it with his eyes.
"To please your little old witch?" Yes, he was aware of the age difference between Jarred and Crysta, she was older than most witches alive right now, and most of them were older than he and Jarred. And he was also aware of the hatred between Cillia and Crysta.
"No, for a personal grudge I have with her and the vampire lord," He replied and Hunter could not help the smile that appeared on his face.
This was good, he had another drive. Another thing to make him chase after those creatures, although he did not approve of him being fond of a witch if it would lead them to their goal, he can entertain that for a bit longer.
"I see," he said and stood from the chair and ow loomed over him. "Recover first, at your current state and condition even a little pup would kill you without breaking a sweat," he smirked and patted his shoulder. "What would you like to eat?"
"Meat," Jarred replied and Hunter nodded.
