Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 211. Congratulations
They both headed out of the room to the alpha’s office after Kora was dressed. Getting there, They found Lazarus drowning himself with work while Dana had pulled a chair to his side and sat there watching him work.
"Father," Kora said, letting go of Darren’s at and walking to his side. He looked up at her and smiled and then pushed the work file to the side of the table and closed it with the pen placed on the page that he was working on.
"How are you now, Kora?" he asked, giving her a side hug. Dana had already given a little information on what happened but he didn’t say anything. She was an adult and was mated. Getting pregnant was not surprising news. She and her mate could decide for themselves what they wanted to do with the pregnancy.
"Much better than before," she replied. Lazarus nodded his head. Kora gave a nod to Dana and a smile which was reciprocated.
"Alpha, Lazarus," Darren said with an outstretched arm. "Sorry to have come back again without informing you,"
Lazarus smiled. He wouldn’t feel comfortable going to another Alpha regularly like this, so he understood the feeling. But it was different between them, they were family, in a way, sort of. So going to each other’s pack was not as inconvenient as they would have felt going to another’s.
"That is fine, we are family after all," he said and Darren nodded. There was no need to say more on that. The office fell into silence after those few words of exchange by the two men. "Dana told me why you are here," he broke the silence and they all looked at Dana who had an innocent expression under their stares. "I have no objections, this is completely in you to decide what you want to do," he said while looking at Kora.
"We have made a decision, Darren spoke and Lazarus raised a brow.
"We are keeping the baby," Kora completed his words.
"Very well then," Lazarus said, having no issue with their decision.
"You’re having a baby!"
Two different voices exclaimed from the door and Kora shook her head. How could she have forgotten about those two? Turning around, she found that it was more than just the two of them, Raven and Rosie were there too.
"How could you not have told me?" Emily asked with a big pretend frown on her face.
"I second that," Ezra said as they strode over to where she sat.
"Congratulations," Raven said. Even he was surprised when he heard that. Who would have known that coming back, the first news he would get would be that of Kora becoming a mother?
"I am so happy for you," Rosie said with a big smile. Kora blushed and looked away. She didn’t anticipate this happening. It would have been better if they learned it after she was gone, that way she would not be as embarrassed as she was now. But Darren accepted their good wishes without blinking.
The office became more warm after that and everyone’s mood was lively. Even Aziel was later brought in and Kora took him in her arms. He was growing very quickly which was expected of a shifter child. Darren stared a her with the child and smiled inwardly.
His thoughts went back to his childhood and wondered what it would have been like if his mother was still alive and his father was different from who he was. Would things have ended up like this? The answer to that was very clear. It was a big fat NO. Had his father been different and alive, he wouldn’t be the Alpha Supreme, he would have just been the Alpha of The Shadow Moon pack, a regular aloha just like everyone else.
["Alpha,"]
A mind link that invaded his mind cut short his thoughts and he frowned. This had to be an alpha linking him if he was able to reach him even with such distance between them.
["I am sorry to disturb you, alpha,"] the voice said again and Darren was able to recognize who it was.
["Julio?"] Darren inquired.
["Yes, Alpha,"] Alpha Julio replied and Darren nearly let out an audible sigh. ["I learned that you are in The Blood Moon Pack..."] he paused but continued when he didn’t hear a reply ["I am on my way to you,"]
["Alright,"] Darren said and ended the main link. Something must have happened if Julio was looking for him. He had given an assignment to him to monitor the human’s activities and report back to him.
"Who was that?" Kora asked, noticing his mind linking.
"Alpha Julio, he is coming here," Darren replied and the office fell silent, especially Lazarus.
The distance was so far yet, Julio and Darren could mind link.
He thought of the benefits of joining the other packs, bringing his lack under the Supreme Alpha. Together there was a united front. Communicating with each other, no matter what pack you belong to, you will be able to link with each other. In the war coming, that was their strongest advantage over the humans and the vampires. They wouldn’t need to speak and risk having their plans heard by the enemy. All they need to do is communicate through the link.
Staying separate from the others would be disadvantageous to his pack. They would lose out a lot more than any other pack who could easily call for the help of others. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"What does he want?" Kora asked. She hated meeting the Alphas and Elders, thru were a pain in the a** and neck and anywhere one could imagine.
"I don’t know yet," Darren replied.
Their voices were able to bring Lazarus back to what was happening in the office and Dana touched his arm having seen him drowned in thought.
["What is it?"] She asked and he looked at her, blinking and shaking his head lightly, he replied,
["I was just thinking about something, we will discuss this later"] he said and she nodded, not probing any further. Before he could make the decision, he had to discuss it with his Mate, Beta, and Gamma, and collectively, they could decide on what to do.
He mind-linked Raven, Ezra, and Rosie, ["Be here later, I have something to discuss with you,"] he cut the link after that they ended up looking blankly at each other and knew that they all received the same instruction. Collectively, they nodded.
