Chapter 236: 235.Tension 3

The room plunged into silence as Dmitri stared at the Alpha whose name he could not remember. His crimson eyes showed his dislike for that comment as he fought the urge to snap his neck.

Out of instinct, the Alpha stood up just so he would be ready if the vampire tried to do anything. The animosity in the enclosed room grew tenfold as they stared at each other.

Dmitri was the first to move, faster than they could follow and the next thing that happened was a wall of fire appearing between Dmrtri and the Alpha he was after and Darren beside Dmitri holding his hand. It stopped him from thrusting his hand forward to grab his neck from behind which spared the poor soul. Everyone instinctively stood up.

This was a confrontation they never anticipated, but what concerned them more now was Darren. He was Darren, they knew but they never saw him stand from his seat. When did he stand up and move faster than Dmitri? The fire they knew was the work of Kora. A perfect aim and the timing could explain that but him...?

"Alpha..." they called him seeing the look in his eyes as he and Dmitri now stared at each other.

"Don’t you dare, Lord Dmitri," he said, his tone low and dangerously dark. He cast a glance at the aloha who would have been dead by now and he took a step back, away from the two. The firewall was gone so they could do anything to him now without having any restrictions between them.

"I shouldn’t dare?" Dmitri asked looking as annoyed as Darren was. Their crimson eyes still staring at each other.

"You are not allowed to hurt my people," Darren reminded him and Dmitri let out a dry laugh as he held back his anger. He looked at where Kora was standing and smirked.

"What about her?" he said looking at the one person who could make the alpha supreme lose his mind. The grip on his arm tightened, had he been a human his wrist would have long been damaged. "You have a weak spot too,"

"Dmitri," Cillia called. That Alpha was not looking so in control of his temper and if they were to fight, it wouldn’t be good for their alliance.

Dmitri growled and yanked his hand away from Darren’s grip. "This is not over," he said, he looked at the alpha who was almost hidden by Darren’s figure, and walked over to where Cillia was, he took her hand and led her out of the room.

"Dmitri," Kora and Darren glared at her for calling him and making him stop. All he wanted was for the vampire to leave after his remark.

"Remember our deal," Kora said to him and he looked over his shoulder, meeting her gaze for a moment before walking away in silence.

He didn’t need to reply.

Dmitri walked out with Cillia in his grip and for a moment, he forgot he was holding her and exerted more strength than he realized almost breaking her wrist had she she not hissed at the pain. He stopped and inspected the hand and saw the wrist had turned red due to his grip and listened to his grip on her.

"Would you have been calm if you broke my hand?" Cilla asked glaring at him. He was angry, that she knew, but he shouldn’t take it in her because he couldn’t do anything to those who angered him.

"Cillia..."

"My lord," Azrail and Leroy’s voices were heard beside them interrupting him.

They had come to wait outside after it was pointed out that they were not allowed inside. After much arguing, Dmitri allowed them to leave but they planned close attention to what was discussed inside. They were tempted to go in there when they heard speak of using their territory but they could not disobey an order. See I got him here now, all they waited for was his order. The alliance didn’t mean that much to them to have them be disrespected so much.

"No," Dmitri said already knowing what was on their minds. "A promise is a promise. A vampire never breaks a promise," he said and gently took Cillia’s palm in his leading her away. "Let us return, we are boo her needed here,"

They bowed and walked ahead of him to get the car ready. It inky etched them that they could not break the promise they had made and Dmitri was hellbent on it. Perhaps it’s because he was old-school, vampires of this generation wouldn’t mind breaking a few promises if it benefits them.

"I am sorry, Cillia," he said stopping to check on her and once more. She must have used magic on it because the swelling was gone and the redness was gone as well.

"I know, let’s just go and ignore them for now. I will avoid them as much as possible for the next three days," she said because their plans were to be made manifest in three days.

She looked up at the sky, the day was quickly changing. The sun was almost setting and soon, the moon would be up."Have you gathered the humans to feed them?" she asked and turned to look at him.

"No, I will gather them myself after we return. A nice way to release my anger," he replied without looking at her but she nodded.

"I will help, I feel like killing and watching a few humans die," she said and he finally looked at her with a smile.

"Whatever you want my dear," he said patting the back of her hand. He smiled at the thought of watching her kill those pests. "I would love to see you in action again after so long, I did t get to watch your fight with Crysta,"

"I am sorry about that," she said now remembering how he was asked to leave even before they could begin.

"I am a forgiving being, that has long passed," he said with a sweet smile even though they both knew it was a lie. "After you, my dear," he said holding the door for her.
