Darren heard what Lazarus and his second and third in command said and became a bit calm. Even he didn’t believe that Lazarus would send an assassin after him. Lazarus was probably the only alpha who could go toe to toe with him in a one-on-one match. He admitted to himself that he had been a bit too impulsive and his sense of reason got overshadowed by rage.

Perhaps Lazarus’ words of accusation were a bit too much but he could understand his mindset. He had come to his pack driving for miles and spending hours on the road just to accuse him of sending an assassin. If he were to be Lazarus he too would be infuriated.

"Alpha Darren..." Darren heard his name and looked at Lazarus. Though he knew he was wrong and admitted it inwardly he was not going to say it out loud. He stared straight at Lazarus with a stoic expression and said nothing, waiting for Lazarus to continue talking. "We have a common enemy who is trying to get us to go against each other." He said with a serious expression on his face.

"I figured that much," Darren said with arrogance in his tone. Lazarus looked at him and shook his head inwardly. Though a supreme Alpha, he was still young and only eighteen, he was bound to act recklessly and childish at times. "What do you suggest? That we work as a team now?" He said and sat lazily on the couch.

Everyone visibly sighed in relief, particularly Leo and Logan. They have both been quiet the whole time. when Darren and Lazarus were in a stand-off and released their auras, they were the most affected. Unlike the others who were either Alphas, betas, or gamma, they held no position besides being friends with Darren. Lucy and Lucinda were witches, they were not as affected as they would have been if they had been werewolves.

"Yes," Lazarus said very curtly, his eyed still on Darren. "It is the only way to get to the bottom of this."

"The supreme alpha has no business with the attacks on your pack, why should he help you?" Alpha Markus asked. He steps back after receiving a glare from Lazarus and a growl from Darren.

"Alpha Lazarus is right, Alpha." Mateo agreed. "I think it is the only way we can get the answers to our unanswered questions."

Darren looked at his beta and then his gamma, "What about you, do you think the same?" He asked Levi.

"I do, Alpha," Levi replied.

Darren then looked at Lucy and Lucinda who for some reason were in a staring contest with Dana. "What do you think?" He asked.

"We are good for with it, Alpha," Lucy replied on behalf of the two of them.

"And you? Darren asked now looking at the alphas with him.

"Whatever the Alpha thinks is right, we will obey." The third alpha spoke. The other two refused to speak anymore since their fallout with Lazarus and his people and wound up getting a growl from Darren.

"What about you?" He asked. This time looking at Leo and Logan. "Do also agree with them?"

"Yes, Alpha." Logan answered. "It is better to work together as a team." He said and Leo nodded his head.

"Alright, it is decided, we work on this together," Darren said standing to his feet and extending a hand to Lazarus for a handshake. Lazarus extended him as well. Just when their hands were about to touch Dana’s phone rang garnering everyone’s attention.

Dana took the phone from her pants pocket about to decline the call when she saw the caller. She didn’t wait a minute and slid her thumb on the answer button. Darren and those with him frowned at her for her disrespect but she paid no attention to them as she spoke to the phone. "Kora are you..."

"Help!" She heard Kora’s voice screaming for help even before she could ask her why she called. Lazarus’ ears perked up as soon as he heard the name Kora from Dana and so did Raven and Ezra. They all frown when the scream for help comes from the phone, that was Kora’s voice. "What happened, Kora?" Dana asked looking at Lazarus with a worried look on her face.

"They are here, those bad people are here," Kora said. She was panting which was enough to tell them that she was running.

"I am on my way to you. Hold on." She disappeared right after saying that leaving everyone in disarray including Lazarus who failed to react in time. He and everyone heard what Kora had said which was a bit shocking in itself. But the most shocking part was when Dana vanished from before their eyes.

Lazarus woke from his monetary shock after remembering that Kora was in danger. He leapt forward off the ground and shifted into his beast and ran off successfully waking everyone else. Raven and Ezra followed Lazarus lead and shifted and ran in the direction of the school leaving Darren and his escorts behind in the pack house.

"What was that about?" Lucy asked. They were all staring at the door wide eyed. They all heard the voice of a child from the phone asking for help saying that bad people were there but what was the relationship between the alpha and luna of the pack with the child? It was a known fact that Lazarus and Dana had no children yet and Lazarus wasn’t really a children person.

"Should we go after them, Alpha?" Levi asked.

"Yeah, lets see what is happening." Darren said and followed the route that they had seen Lazarus take. Everyone else did the same and soon they found themselves at the pack preschool. A fierce fight was going on. It seems the school was under attack.

As soon as Darren stepped into the school premises, he caught that scent again. Is eyes scanned the place while his nose sniffed the air. Finally, his eyes zeroed in on a little girl with dark, long and curly hair running and ducking every now and then. Behind her was an Abomination trying to catch her. Her dark eyes widened for a second as she ducked again.

When the Abomination Leapt from the ground aiming at her and it seem she was about to get caught, Darren moved so fast, probably the fastest he had ever moved and intercepted the Abomination mid-air pinning it to the ground and clawed out its heart.

By the time he stood up and looked at Kora, she had stopped running and stared back at him. The scent that he had caught in the pack was stronger and he knew she was the one.
