Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 257 - 256. Battle 4: Azrail 1
Just like that, Jack and his team died and the earth which would have served as a witness to their demise was repaired. Everything around the area seems to have risen as the sound of the explosion must have caught them all off guard. But shortly later, the gunshots, and roars and howling could be heard again from afar. While croaking of the frogs and crickets could be heard once again where they stood.
"Does anyone still think we should leave them?" Kora asked. She got to her feet and examined Dana who still needed to catch her breath and regain her lost energy.
No one spoke and that was all that she needed to know that none answered in leaving as the men had asked them to.
"You used too much power, now you are drained," She said, raising her hand to Dana’s face, moving her hair out of her face and cupping both of her cheeks just like she used to do when she was little and putting on her reprimanding face. "You know you should not have done that,"
Dana looked at her like that and smiled remembering the good old days. "I know, I will be more careful from now on," she said with an apologetic look. Kora nodded her head, just in the past and Dana felt like hugging her just like she used to but remembered where they were now and she stopped herself.
"Alright, let’s not waste any more time, more people are dying," Kora said and looked up at the moon that had now risen in its full might. The blood had officially so all no humans were bound to be a bit stronger now. Both magic users and those who depend on their raw strength would be stronger now. This was why they needed to seize this opportunity and end it all tonight.
"The vampires should have started coming by now, Luna," Luvunda said. They said they would wait for the blood moon and it was here, with their speed, they should have been here already.
"Go and check on them, if they try anything funny, return and report to me," Kora said giving her permission to leave. The vampires were needed. The night was still fresh and should the shifters fight alone here tonight, their population would be greatly affected after it was all over.
"Understood, Luna," Lucinda said and disappeared from them.
"What about the speed caster?" Kora asked Lucy. Part of her job was to make sure the spell casters were in line with the great of them.
"The coven head said as long as the vampires agree to help, they will help," Lucy replied with a frown as she found it ridiculous that the switches would say something like that but it was no surprise knowing the relationship between the coven head and the vampire lord.
"Alright then, we can only hope that Lucinda managed to get them. moving soon.’’ Kora looked at where the heated battle was going and said, "Let us go now, we are wasting precious time."

At the vampire territory,
Azrail now stood alone watching the last of the humans change as Dmitri had time to get the dark vampire and sense a few to Azrail. With one last very from the human who was yet to complete his change, the surroundings went silent.
After a minute had passed, a few voices came in with blood to feed the newly turned vampires. The blood would help stabilize them and complete the process, but it will also send them to a blood drive. Their bloodlust would surpass that of any vampire until they learned to control it.
Vampires like these were usually locked up until the curb of their bloodlust but tonight it was different. It was their thirst for blood that was being put to use now. Releasing them to the humans to cause as much habit as possible. The Lord didn’t care whether they lived passed tonight or died. The purpose of changing them was very clear.
The vampires that came to feed newborns left after there was some drinking but they didn’t look filled at all. The color of their ways continues to flicker. Those who were still trying to fight the change kept on going back and forth while the others who had succumbed now stared with crimson eyes.
Azrail’s head whipped to the side as he noticed a new presence in the room with the sound of a familiar heartbeat. Seeing that it was indeed the one whom he thought, he turned his whole body around and walked to where she stood.
"You shouldn’t be here," though he said that he still engulfed her in a warm embrace and kissed her forehead. "These are newborns," he said. And they both turned to look at them.
"Was this why you didn’t join us yet?" Lucinda asked and he hummed. Azrail glared at the one who was looking at Lucinda as if she were his meal. He was probably attracted to her heartbeat.
"Stay away from them," he said, holding her protectively. Lucinda looked at the newborn vampires with blood dripping from their mouths and wondered what blood they had taken. She also began to wonder how blood tastes for them to like it so much.
"Were you ever like this?" She asked out of curiosity. She began imagining g what a newborn Azrail would be like. He must have caused a lot of trouble when he was first turned, or was he a born vampire? She turned to look at him and found him staring at her with a stunned expression. "What it is?" she asked.
"It’s nothing," he said, getting over the fact that she just asked him something personal for the first time since they knew each other. "I was born, not turned, so I never had to go through this," he replied to her question and she nodded, finally understanding why he was stronger than most.
You should go first, I will be there as soon My Lord returns with reinforcement." he said. Right now, they stood face to face staring at each other. She looked up at him while he looked down and their faces were so close she would normally take a step back and increase their proximity but she did not this time and stayed rooted in that position. "Lucinda," He called and raised his right hand to touch her but paused thinking she might reject his touch.
She was aware of his feelings for her, and he made sure she knew of them with every chance that he got but she never really let him in. He could hear her heartbeat pick its pace and he led inwardly. "Can I kiss you?" He asked but did not wait for an answer as he leaned forward to capture her lips.
Her response to his kiss was almost immediate, something that he did not expect. Her hands went around her neck bringing him lower for her while he held her waist to bring her close as they continued with their passionate kiss that lasted for several minutes. Lucinda didn’t step away from his arms even after the kiss was over, rather, she hugged him.
"I am scared. I fear I would lose someone I care for tonight but I can’t tell who," She said. This feeling had been in her since the day began and she tried hard to cast it aside but it never went away.
"Nothing will happen to me," he said, sure of his capabilities and strength. "I will make sure of it," she did not have to worry about him, he would be fine but he also knew that this wouldn’t make her stop worrying. She had many people she cared for and it could be any of them, he could protect them so she could be reassured. "Stay with me throughout the battle," this way he could keep watch over her and have her protected from danger.
"Okay," Lucinda agreed.
