Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 112: It’s Immoral To Destroy Others’ Marriage
"Of course, if we’re not affectionate to each other when we’re newlyweds, we won’t be affectionate when we’re old. Am I right, Hubby?"
Janice said as she blinked at Christopher.
Christopher chuckled and nodded.
Janice rolled her eyes. Then she placed her utensils on the table and said.
"By the way, I’ve been working on a show recently on a newlywed couple. The couple was only married for a year or more but their marriage was destroyed by a mistress. How can there be so many shameless women in the world? They know that the men were married but they insist on being a mistress."
Janice said emotionally.
It was obvious that she said it for Denise to hear.
How could Christopher not understand? He played along.
"Indeed, it’s quite immoral to destroy other people’s marriage."
Janice continued, "Also, the mistress even showed off in front of the wife. She doesn’t feel ashamed at all. She really doesn’t have any shame."
As she spoke, she subconsciously glanced at Denise.
Denise was eating calmly. She knew Janice directed her words to her.
But she never thought that she was a mistress.
Denise said, "Actually, it might seem that a mistress is the cause of a failed marriage. But in reality, the actual cause might not be it. If the man really loved the woman, how could he cheat on her? It must be because they don’t love each other deep enough, or their marriage was a mistake and they married impulsively."
Janice couldn’t bear to listen to Denise anymore after she heard her. She exclaimed, "Oh? If that’s the case, should they thank the mistress for separating them and free them from a wrong union?"
"Isn’t that so?"
Denise asked.
Janice rolled her eyes and asked Christopher, "Darling, do you also think so?"
Christopher paused for a while and said, "It doesn’t matter if they are deeply in love with each other or not. Since they are already married, they need to be responsible for it. Whether they married impulsively or they don’t love each other enough, those are all excuses. The actual reason was he’s a scumbag!"
Janice couldn’t help but clap as soon as he finished speaking.
"Good job, Hubby. I didn’t expect you to be so upright."
"Well, I’m full."
Denise couldn’t bear it anymore. "What is he trying to say?" She thought.
Obviously, it was meant for her.
"Is he telling her that even if he did not marry Janice out of love, he would stay in this marriage?"
"Is that so?"
<Was he going to stay in this marriage and take care of her?
How could it be possible?
It sounded like a joke.>
Denise stood up. She couldn’t bear with it anymore even though she wanted to.
She said with a gloomy face, "I have got something to do, so I won’t bother you anymore. I’ll leave."
After that, she walked out of the door.
Janice stared at her departing figure and placed her utensils aside.
Christopher furrowed his eyebrows as he stared at her.
"Why did you stop eating?"
"Do you think I have the appetite?" She thought. Even though she managed to chase Denise away, she had turned into the person she hated the most.
She stared at Christopher who was in front of her and muttered grumpily, "Do you enjoy it?"
Christopher narrowed his eyes in confusion.
Janice snorted. "Don’t you think you’re so amazing that I’m fighting with Denise so openly for you?"
She turned her head away angrily.
"Childish!"
She thought that she was really childish when she recalled her actions just now!
...
Christopher stared at her angry face and knitted his eyebrows. "Darling you must have misunderstood my intentions. You were the one who brought her here."
"Yes, I did but you didn’t refuse it." Janice snorted.
Christopher couldn’t help but sigh in his heart. Indeed, a woman’s heart is a deep ocean of secrets.
"All right, all right. It’s all my fault. Calm down and eat."
Christopher said as he placed some escargots on her plate, which was previously untouched.
Janice’s mood turned better yet she turned around and warned Christopher.
"As the saying goes, there’s no smoke without fire. You better don’t be like that man who cheated."
Christopher couldn’t help chuckling. If he liked Denise, he wouldn’t have married Janice.
"Don’t let your imagination run wild. Eat up."
Denise walked out of the restaurant. She was about to explode with anger. "How dare Janice insinuate that I’m a mistress?"
However, she couldn’t retaliate.
Who was the mistress?
How could she be a mistress?
She deserved to be with Christopher.
First come first serve. Janice was nowhere to be seen when she met Christopher.
"How dare she drive me away and label me as a mistress?"
"Don’t even think about it!"
Denise gritted her teeth.
"Very well, she is arrogant and conceited if I don’t teach her a lesson."
Thinking of this, she took out her mobile phone and narrowed her eyes coldly. Then she dialed a number and said, "You can release the magazine."
In the evening, Janice and Christopher went to Old Mr. Allson’s villa together.
When they got out of the car, Janice reminded Christopher, "You told me that you would take me to see Grandma’s belongings."
Christopher nodded. "Of course. I’ll go get the keys from Grandpa after dinner."
Janice nodded.
Sure enough, after dinner, Christopher brought a bunch of keys over.
"Let’s go. I’ll take you to the storage room."
Janice followed Christopher and went in. She found that the so-called storage room was not messy at all, it was neat.
The room was spotless.
Subconsciously she reached out to touch the surface of the table, only to find that there was no dust at all.
It was indeed spotless.
"Christopher, are you sure that this is a storage room?"
Janice couldn’t help but ask.
Christopher nodded. "Of course."
"But it’s too clean here."
Janice asked in surprise.
Christopher replied, "Of course. Grandpa usually treasures this place. It’s okay if the rest of the house wasn’t clean, except for here."
It seemed that Grandpa really cherished Grandma.
She went to the shelf and stared at the big wooden boxes in rows. She could not help but ask, "Are these all Grandma’s belongings?"
Christopher nodded.
"Isn’t this too much?"
Christopher frowned. "This is only the tip of the iceberg. Grandpa only allows us to open these boxes."
The tip of the iceberg? Janice couldn’t help but exclaim.
"There must be a lot more!"
Christopher walked to the shelf. He took the key and opened a big vermilion wooden box.
"Come here. Grandma’s belongings were all here when she was alive."
As he opened the big vermilion box, all kinds of items came into view. They were all placed neatly inside the box.
Janice stepped forward but she was dazzled by what she saw. There were so many items inside the box and she didn’t know where to start.
She said, "Did Grandpa keep everything Grandma had after she passed away?"
...
Christopher nodded. "Yes, Grandpa treasures all her belongings even if it’s just a piece of clothing or a button."
Janice secretly exclaimed in her heart, "They must have loved each other so deeply!"
"By the way, why do you want to look at it?"
Christopher asked.
Janice replied, "So I can prepare gifts for Grandpa. You told me Grandpa loved Grandma deeply. So I’m getting ideas from here."
"So thoughtful?" Christopher looked at her meaningfully.
Janice replied, "Of course."
"That’s because it’s your Grandpa and I love you."
Of course, she would never tell Christopher.
Janice didn’t find anything special after being in the storage room for an hour, because there were simply too many items.
There were so many items that she couldn’t figure out what Grandpa cherished the most.
In the end, they left empty-handed.
Tomorrow was the weekend so they didn’t have to work. Under Christopher’s demand, Janice had slept in today.
It was almost nine o’clock when she got up. She complained to Christopher.
"It’s all your fault. You wanted me to sleep in. Look, it’s already so late. How embarrassing!"
Christopher sneered, "Don’t you know that in the eyes of the elders, it’s normal for a newly wedded couple to wake up late?"
"Seriously?" Janice was surprised.
Christopher furrowed his brows. "Of course, that’s because you haven’t experienced the joys of being a newlywed."
He smiled meaningfully.
Janice seemed to have understood what he meant. She blushed and glared at him.
"I knew it. You’re joking."
She got up and walked to the bathroom.
Christopher let out a chuckle.
After washing up, they went downstairs one after the other, only to find that it was very quiet downstairs.
Janice wondered. "Why is it so quiet today? Where’s Grandpa?"
Christopher also looked around. "Maybe he went out."
He walked to the dining area and found that breakfast was laid out on the table.
"Let’s have breakfast first." He pulled out a chair for Janice.
Janice glanced at the sumptuous breakfast on the table. It seemed that it wasn’t touched at all.
She said, "Why don’t we wait for Grandpa?"
Christopher said, "Believe me, these are all prepared for us."
Upon hearing his words, Janice did not say anything and sat down.
After breakfast, she followed Christopher and they walked out of the villa. When they came to the yard, they saw many large and small vermilion boxes in the yard. They looked exactly the same as the ones she saw in the storage room last night.
"Aren’t these Grandma’s belongings that we saw last night?"
Christopher frowned. "It’s indeed Grandma’s belonging, but these are not what we saw last night."
"Is that so?"
Janice took a closer look, but she did not notice any difference.
"Let’s go. Grandpa is over there."
Christopher said as he walked towards the nearby shed.
Janice quickly followed suit.
They came to the shed.
"Grandpa."
Old Mr. Allson, who was busy under the shed, looked up and greeted the two of them.
"You’re awake."
Janice felt a little embarrassed. She glanced at the big boxes around him and said.
"Grandpa, what are..."
Old Mr. Allson stopped what he was doing and said, "It often rains the last few weeks. These things are damp and wet. I saw the weather report said that it would be sunny these few days so I moved them out to dry in the sun."
Hearing that, Janice nodded. "Grandpa, let me help you."
Old Mr. Allson said, "No, it’s a rare opportunity for you two to rest. Don’t delay your plans."
