Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 55: This Girl Is Really Pretty
"Sir, are you here for some morning exercise?"
Janice walked over to hold the silver-haired old man.
The old man didn’t say anything and just turned to look at her.
Janice thought that he had not heard what she said, so she asked again, "Where’s your family? You should let them accompany you."
The old man still didn’t respond. Janice thought that maybe he was too old to hear. She raised her voice again. "Sir, where is your home? I’ll bring you back."
The old man frowned at the work card hanging in front of her chest. She was a reporter.
Janice continued to raise her voice.
"Sir? Can you hear me?"
As soon as she finished speaking, a young man came over.
The man glanced at Janice and then said to the old man, "Mr. Allson, there you are."
The old man did not speak.
Janice’s gaze fell on the man. "Are you his family?"
The man did not answer.
Janice said in resignation, "It looks troublesome for him to walk around here. You shouldn’t have left him here alone."
The man glanced at the old man with confusion.
Looking at the man’s confused look, Janice thought, "Why he is so irresponsible?"
She said to the old man, "Sir, your family member is here. Please go home with him. Ask them to join you next time."
After saying that, Janice let go of the old man’s arm. She took a glance at the man and left.
After she turned to leave, Mr. Allson looked at her back and said, "That girl is really pretty and kind-hearted. It would be great if she could become my granddaughter-in-law."
"Sir, let’s go."
The other man reminded him.
Only then did the old man look back at the man. "Andy, my legs are numb. Give me a massage."
No wonder the girl just said that someone should join him. It turned out that it was
because of this.
Andy squatted down to massage the old man’s legs, but he thought of something and said, "Mr. Allson, your grandson just called and said that he would come back to see you in a few days."
The old man snorted, "Another a few days. Tell him that he doesn’t have to come back if he’s alone."
When Janice returned to the car, she didn’t see Christopher.
Didn’t she ask him to wait in the car?
When she took out her phone and was about to make a call, she saw him walking over from the square.
Janice put away the phone.
Christopher walked over and handed her a bottle of water.
Janice took it.
"Thank you."
It was so hot today, and she drank half a bottle at once.
"The interviews are over. Let’s go back." Janice said.
Christopher nodded. When they sat in the car, Janice placed the bottle of water onto the rack and then fastened her seat belt.
After she fastened her seat belt, she found Christopher directly taking the water she had and drinking it.
Janice was about to explain that she had already half emptied it, but then she remembered that they kissed each other. It hardly seemed like a big deal in light of that.
However, a flush still appeared on her face. "Where are we going next?" Christopher asked.
...
Janice checked the time. "It’s time for dinner. Let’s go to eat."
They would have to go back to the TV station later, so they casually found a snack shop.
After the meal, Christopher received a call and went out. After paying the bill, Janice went back to the car first. However, when she walked to the car, she found that the car had a ticket on it.
Janice realized that it was indeed not a parking lot. "What’s wrong?"
Hearing Christopher’s voice, Janice subconsciously hid the ticket.
It was she who asked him to park here. So she felt a little embarrassed.
She said, "Nothing. Let’s go back to the TV station."
Christopher didn’t doubt her. After getting in the car, Janice asked, "Well, is the driving license in the car?"
Christopher asked, "Why do you ask for the license?"
However, Janice said guiltily, "Oh, it has been strictly checked recently. I just want to remind you."
Christopher didn’t have any doubts and only said, "Don’t worry, I’ll take them with me."
Janice didn’t say anything else, but she thought. "Therefore, I would pay the fine without anyone noticing."
After they arrived at the TV station, Janice asked Christopher to buy some drinking water.
As soon as Christopher left, she quickly flipped through the box and found his driving license.
In the afternoon, because Janice had to write the news draft on the TV station, she asked Christopher to go back to rest. Christopher would pick her up after work.
Then he drove back to his company.
In the office, after Rob finished his report, he said, "By the way, Mr. Bateman, I received a text message about the parking fine today. I will deal with it later."
Christopher then handed over the car key.
Later, Rob returned and asked, "Mr. Bateman, where did you put your driving license?"
Christopher said nonchalantly, "It’s the same place."
Rob frowned. "I just checked. There’s no one inside."
"No?"
Christopher frowned. He remembered that his driving license had always been inside and he had never moved.
However, he suddenly remembered that on the way back to the TV station, Janice had asked him about his driving license.
Could it be...
Thinking of this, he said, "Go and check if anyone has paid the fine." "Yes." Rob went out.
After Rob left, Christopher thought.
"There was information about him in the driving license. It would be troublesome if Janice saw it."
Thinking of this, he dialed a number.
On the other side, at the entrance of the traffic police station, Janice used her break in the afternoon to pay the fine.
She walked to the window with the certificate and handed it over.
The phone rang and Janice picked it up.
"Janice, did you get the driving license in the car?"
Christopher’s voice came through.
He still found out. After all, she intended to pay the fine secretly and then put it back.
She said, "Yes, but don’t worry. I’ll give it back to you after I pay the fine."
Christopher’s heart skipped a beat. "Are you paying the fine now?"
Janice nodded. "Yes, I will talk to you later."
Before Christopher could say anything, the phone was hung up.
...
Hearing the beeping sound, Christopher frowned. "Forget it. Sooner or later, she would know." Christopher thought.
As soon as he hung up the phone, Rob knocked on the door and came in. "Mr. Bateman, I just checked that the fine was already paid."
Christopher silently signaled for him to leave.
Seeing the expression on Christopher, Rob left in confusion.
In the traffic police station, after handing in the ticket, she walked out with too many receipts in her hand. Suddenly, the receipts fell down.
Janice quickly reached out to pick them up. However, when she saw the information on the driving license, she was totally stunned.
The name written in the column of the owner was Christopher Bateman.
<What?
Didn’t this car belong to Rob Hanson?
How could it be Christopher’s name?>
Janice couldn’t figure it out. After she returned to the TV station, she was still confused.
Nowadays, it wasn’t strange to have a car. Although Christopher didn’t have much money, it wasn’t impossible for him to have a car.
But how much was this car worth?
Thinking of this, she casually searched for the price of the car on the Internet, which directly frightened her.
...more than 1.5 million?
Did she read the number wrong?
How could this be possible?
How could Christopher who was a vagrant could afford such an expensive car?
"Did he do something illegal?"
She was thinking.
"Janice, what’s the matter?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Lucy’s voice suddenly came through. Then Janice came to her senses and said, "Nothing."
Lucy stared at her face and frowned. "Then why do you look so bad?"
Janice thought for a moment and asked Lucy, "Tell me, why does a person who has nothing to do all day suddenly have a luxury car?"
Lucy thought for a moment and said, "That’s illegal."
"Illegal?"
Janice was confused.
Lucy said, "Such as theft, or degradation. In short, it won’t be a legal way." After saying that, Lucy turned around and left.
Janice however, was stunned. So, did she mean that Christopher’s car was stolen from someone?
Thinking of this, Janice was not calm anymore. She was not even in the mood to write and left in a hurry.
As soon as she walked out of the department door, she met Benjamin. Benjamin saw that she was in a hurry and asked, "Janice, what happened?" Janice had no mood to talk to Benjamin at this time. She said, "Nothing."
Benjamin recalled the scene he saw in the morning and asked, "By the way, Janice. Mr. Bateman..."
"Why do you always ask about him?"
Janice thought that he was going to ask about her relationship with Christopher again, so she was a little annoyed.
Benjamin didn’t expect her to be annoyed. He said, "I just want to treat him to a meal to express my gratitude."
Upon hearing his words, Janice’s tone became a little better.
"No, thanks."
After that, she continued to walk forward.
Benjamin stared at her back and frowned. "What’s wrong with her today?"
Janice directly returned home. She wanted to ask Christopher about the car.
But when she got home, she found Christopher was not at home at all.
<Didn’t I ask him to come back?
Where did he go?>
