Chapter 301: The Gaze Of The Abyss

"Who is this bug making noise behind us?" Cupcake asked, looking over her shoulder at the intruder. Her tiny, pristine paws paused their meticulous grooming as her senses detected a sudden, unnatural distortion in the ambient energy.

"Huh?" Cupcake was stunned, staring at the dark skin elf, in a black armor, holding a long sword in hand. The armor seemed to absorb the dim light around them, intricately forged from an abyssal metal not found anywhere in the lower realms.

"What creature is this?" Cupcake asked in confusion. Despite her growing intellect and familiarity with the system’s countless beasts, this entity possessed an aura that felt distinctly alien, resonating with a frequency entirely detached from Galaxy Fall’s primary servers.

"With the memories from that dragon, this here is a dark elf, from the fourth world." Mirabella answered, not even looking back at the elf. She remained perfectly still, her arms crossed over her chest, her supreme confidence radiating like a physical barrier. To her, the assassin was nothing more than a passing breeze.

"You are so arrogant, do you think I am worthless to fight you?!" The dark elf asked coldly. His pride, forged in the brutal hierarchies of the higher realms, stung sharply at her casual dismissal.

"In fact, Yes. You are worthless to fight me... It’s a good thing you know that, yourself." Mirabella said, her gaze still fixed on the battle raging down below. She calculated the trajectories of her students’ strikes, entirely unbothered by the drawn blade mere meters from her spine.

"You are just an Eight Star. I can kill a great Celestial stage enemy, do you think you’re my opponent?" She asked calmly, laying bare the insurmountable chasm between their power levels.

"Killed a Great Celestial Stage?! Are you saying you’re the one who killed the fifth guard?!" He asked in shock, moving his gaze on Mirabella’s back.

’This girl is only five stars, how can she kill the fifth guard, is she trying to scare me... Foolish, at least look at your strength before saying such a thing.’ He thought, his fist clenched around the hilt of his weapon. The cognitive dissonance between her system-displayed level and the terrifying claims she made fractured his composure.

"How dare you lie to me?!!" He yelled, as dark energy burst out from him, spreading all over the place. The eruption of Eight-Star energy was suffocating, a localized gravity well of pure, malicious shadow. The energy was so intense, it stopped the battle below, causing everyone to turn towards the direction of the suffocating pressure.

High above the fray, the beast woman paused her aerial assault.

’This? Why is he also here?’ She thought with a slight frown, staring at the dark light polluting the sky above the church.

’Wait, is there someone up there with him? Why didn’t I detect this person?!’ She thought in disbelief. Her draconic senses were absolute within her domain, yet Mirabella had remained entirely invisible to her perception until this exact moment. Panic setting in, she tapped the head of the monster, which shot towards the location with a beat of its massive wings.

Mirabella stared at the lady, who was now heading towards her direction, and exhaled softly: "Ok, you are desperate, so die."

WHOOSH!!

Without a single incantation or shift in stance, an invisible guardian instantly appeared beside the Dark elf. The elf, boasting the heightened reflexes of an Eight-Star Fourth World native, easily detected the sudden spatial anomaly and quickly raised his legendary class sword to defend against the unseen blow.

BOOOOM!!!

It wasn’t even a contest. The attack smashed into the sword, instantly shattering it into half as if the legendary artifact were made of cheap glass. The devastating blow continued without losing an ounce of momentum, and smashed into the face of the elf, smashing it right into the roof.

BOOOOM!!!

The stone tiles pulverized into dust, creating a crater around the twitching, ruined corpse.

{Killed an Eight Star Dark elf, gained 800,000 Exp.}

"You can’t even survive one attack from my guardian, and you want to fight me... You know what to do, Sunder." Mirabella commanded coldly.

The sentient, god-class sword nodded. It unsheathed itself and flew towards the body, plunged itself into it; and started absorbing the blood, drinking the high-tier Fourth World essence.

WHOOSH!!!

The severed head of the dark elf flew towards Mirabella, passing over her head, and falling down from the building in a gruesome arc.

’What is that?’ The beast lady thought in confusion, staring at the object moving towards her through the air.

Using her telekinesis, she caught it with two of her floating swords, and her eyes widened in absolute horror, staring at the severed head.

’Dark Knight?! I thought you just showed your energy a moment ago, how did you get killed in less than a minute?’ She thought in disbelief. Trembling, she slowly looked up at the building, seeing a figure standing on the roof, with crossed arms, looking down at her like a god viewing a speck of dust.

"Did she killed him?" She muttered in disbelief, her mind struggling to process a power capable of one-shotting an Eight-Star elite.

[World Competition Announcement: David from the dragon academy’s team has completed both first and second Objectives.]

Mirabella listened to the last announcement from her team, and finally raised her hand into the sky. Her students had successfully temperered themselves in the crucible of battle.

"They’re done. That’s good, we don’t have time to waste on these small flies," she declared.

"What is she doing?" The lady asked in disbelief, throwing the severed head away in a panic.

BOOOOM!!!

The very fabric of reality groaned. Everyone raised their heads to the sky, the fighting grinding to a sudden, terrified halt as a huge black gate appeared, facing down on the borough. It was an edifice of pure nightmare, carved with runes that defied mortal comprehension. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"Spectral Gaze, stage three," Mirabella whispered, her voice echoing in the minds of every living creature in the borough.

BOOOOM!!!!

The massive double gate opened wide. From the abyssal void within, a colossal, red bleeding eye appeared, staring down at the whole Borough. The overwhelming pressure of an ancient authority descended, suffocating the ambient energy and pinning the horde to the earth.

"Die!"

BOOOOM!!!!

A concussive red energy wave burst out from the massive eye, spreading all over the place at the speed of light. It bypassed physical armor, shields, and hit points entirely. Instantly, all the souls of every single monster present shattered like fragile glass, and they collapsed on the ground, dead. There was no blood, no final roars—only the eerie silence of a mass execution.

"....?!!"

The beast lady was dumbfounded, watching as the massive flying monster she was standing on also dropped dead beneath her, its soul eradicated in a microsecond.

"This?" She moved her gaze around, watching in sheer horror as a breathtaking, terrifying phenomenon occurred. White light flew out from all the thousands of dead bodies, swirling upward like an inverted meteor shower, and flew towards Mirabella, merging seamlessly with her form.

{Soul Immunity: 100%.}

{Killed 25,628 Monsters (including Bosses, and World Bosses).}

{Gained 21 Billion Exp.}

{Exp stored.}

The sheer volume of the cosmic harvest caused the air around Mirabella to warp. She slowly nodded her head in satisfaction, absorbing the astronomical influx of power without a flinch, and turned her piercing gaze back to the fallen beast lady.

"Come here," She commanded, her voice an absolute law, as the terrifying black gate in the sky closed and vanished.

The lady froze, her body trembling in uncontrollable fear. In one single second, Mirabella had wiped out every single monster in the borough. This was a true monster, a being that defied the very logic of the universe, and under this monster’s oppressive gaze, the beast woman found she couldn’t move an inch.
