Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 10: Enjoying Life
Caelum did not think too much about it.
Now that he was back in reality, he just wanted to relax.
After fighting his way from start to finish in Evolution Battle Royale, all he wanted now was to live like a slacker and enjoy life.
Before, he had been constantly on edge, afraid of running into a game world intrusion and losing his life. Even going out to buy something made him nervous.
Now things were different.
He was invincible.
Game intrusions meant nothing to him anymore. He walked down the street with complete ease, his mindset completely changed.
After half a year, New Kirk had changed quite a bit. Many buildings had been renovated or rebuilt, a clear sign of the damage they had previously suffered.
That was right.
Caelum had spent over half a year in the game world.
He himself did not feel much about it. His sense of time had already become completely different from that of normal humans.
On the surface, he still looked human.
In reality, he was a void colossus, a being larger than thousands of galaxies combined.
Still, Caelum considered himself human.
He did not care about his true nature. Even though his lifespan was infinite and he no longer felt hunger as long as he absorbed cosmic energy, he still enjoyed good food.
He liked lying at home watching anime.
He genuinely enjoyed this kind of relaxed life.
Caelum sat on a bench by the street, legs crossed, holding a popsicle and licking it slowly.
"Now this is what life’s about."
He thought for a moment.
"Barbecue tonight."
Just as he said that—
Boom!
A loud explosion came from the street.
Caelum turned to look, curious, and activated his ability.
Universal Omniscience.
A game world intrusion?
Not exactly.
More precisely, it was an intrusion entity. That referred to characters or monsters from game worlds that had entered reality.
Normally, a game intrusion meant that the game world and reality collided, forming a space time passage between the two.
Through this passage, game entities could enter reality and cause destruction.
The key to handling such events was to close or destroy the passage.
The ideal outcome was to eliminate both the passage and all intruding entities.
But that was extremely difficult.
In most cases, closing the passage would eliminate the majority of intruders, but some always slipped through.
Official agencies and the Four Great Guilds were already stretched thin dealing with major intrusions.
They had no spare resources to hunt down the stragglers.
That responsibility often fell to game companies.
Speaking of which, one name stood out.
Shieldbearers.
Shieldbearers was a powerful organization with immense resources. They had their own teams, but also issued public bounties.
Anyone who eliminated an intrusion entity could claim a reward.
The higher the threat level, the greater the reward.
No identity verification required.
Anyone could become a Shieldbearer and legally use their power.
That was the meaning of the name.
As a result, their numbers were massive, and hidden among them were countless strong individuals. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
They were the main force hunting intrusion entities.
Usually, when an intruder appeared, Shieldbearers would arrive first, not the official teams.
You never knew if the old lady selling vegetables nearby might suddenly pull out a leek and charge in to make some extra cash.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Three Shieldbearers flew past Caelum and slammed into the ground. The concrete shattered like tofu.
"Cough!"
One young man struggled to his feet. Seeing Caelum casually eating his popsicle nearby, he gave a quick warning.
"You should get away from here. It’s dangerous!"
"Mm."
Caelum nodded and kept eating.
The young Shieldbearer activated his wrist terminal, his expression serious.
"I’ve encountered an intrusion entity. Estimated threat level D. I can’t handle it alone. Requesting backup!"
Then he rushed forward again.
He had no choice.
He needed to stall the enemy until reinforcements arrived. It was not easy to find a target like this.
Ten seconds later—
Boom!
He was sent flying back again.
This time, he was badly injured, coughing up blood and barely conscious.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw—
Caelum was still eating his popsicle.
Heavy footsteps approached.
Only then did Caelum get a clear look at the intruder.
A middle aged man in silver knight armor, holding a heavy sword.
Like a knight straight out of the medieval era.
The knight stood firm, his gaze sharp.
"Too weak. You cannot even stir my fighting spirit."
Caelum observed him with curiosity.
This was his first time seeing an intrusion entity up close.
D rank?
The young man’s estimate was wrong.
By proper standards, this knight was at least C rank, capable of affecting an entire city.
The young man had simply not forced him to reveal his true strength.
Caelum glanced up at the sky.
"Backup’s pretty fast."
A flash of light appeared above.
The knight looked up as well, only to be struck by a descending streak of light. The impact created a crater in the ground.
Unfortunately, it did little damage.
More streaks followed.
The knight swung his sword several times, easily deflecting them.
By coincidence, one streak flew straight toward Caelum.
He was hit by the shockwave while still eating his popsicle.
"..."
Fortunately, he had a spatial barrier around him, so his precious snack remained safe.
He had no interest in watching this low level fight any longer.
Caelum snapped his fingers.
An invisible spatial cage instantly trapped the knight, then shattered like glass.
When space stabilized again—
The knight was gone.
Completely erased.
Not even a trace remained.
Caelum yawned and stood up.
"Getting sleepy. Time to head back."
The young Shieldbearer stared at his back in shock.
"So strong."
