Global Sign-in: 10x Multiplier with the Strongest System!
Chapter 105: Roy’s Diary of Executables I
Starting with the least impressive of the systems—for now—was Dr. Gretsch’s, who was an F-Class Irregular with his FARM.exe.
The title of his executable was: "Feeding the Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland with my FARM.exe."
And his executable environment, that is, his system-world, with a no-brainer, was: "The Wasteland."
After a lot of back and forth with Dr. Gretsch, along with consistent pestering, Roy found out that in the history of the wasteland, there were once creatures called Drought Fiends who roamed the world and burned everything in their path, bringing about an intense global warming. In this desolate wasteland, there was hardly any vegetation left or even arable soil, only sand and hard ground. Many plants, animals, and some human races went extinct. Now, the wasteland was a lawless plain, with numerous factions, slavery, turf wars, and all-around madness. Luckily for Gretsch, he had a small barn and house out in the middle of nowhere. It wasn’t said how the Drought Fiends were eradicated or how they arrived, but Dr. Gretsch pointed out that he just hadn’t found out yet.
Aside from all that, Roy was more interested in how he leveled up. Dr. Gretsch said his system gave him a clear goal at every level, which was his boss. In level 1, all he had to do was multiply a corn seed with his [Seed Duplication] active skill, plant it in soil enhanced by his [Enriching] passive skill, and help it grow to maturity, which wasn’t as easy as one thought when the soil dehydrated very quickly, and he had limited ways to utilize his passive skill. The plant died numerous times. And then, when he leveled up after harvesting the corn bulbs that had grown, he received stat points and gold coins.
When asked how he obtained water to grow the plant in such a desolate place, Dr. Gretsch said, luckily, his passive skill already moistened the soil and allowed plants to grow.
And then he joked about having no choice but to use the seventy percent body water of the mad-riders who always tried to steal his farm produce if there was no other way to get water.
"Because I can’t allow my babies to die," he said, and considered this might be the better option for when he starts rearing animals on his farm.
Roy forced a laugh, glanced at the botanical garden Dr. Gretsch was newly growing, and fought the urge to end the conversation to check on the water supply of the bunker.
Moving on, every plant successfully raised earned him either a gold or silver coin; two silver coins made a gold coin. With that, he could spend them on the Farmer’s Market (like the Love Shop and Null Archive), where he could purchase seeds, claypots, fertilizers, and other essential things a farmer could use. He said he was now in level 5, so the shop had updated, and a chicken egg was now available.
FARM.exe’s sign-in rewards so far were stat points, consumables like seeds, corn bulbs, and other farm produce, and a tool, the trowel.
Lastly, Dr. Gretsch’s stat attributes were: "Brawn" as his body stat, "Vitality" as his mind-soul stat, "Growth" as his release stat, "Thickness" as his fortification stat, and "Belief" as his randomness stat.
And thus, Roy scribbled down his final evaluation of Dr. Gretsch’s FARM.exe:
’Very promising. Mainly, the stats will give the skinny Dr. Gretsch a whole different body. He will be able to become an executioner just because of his stats alone. Though I don’t think his skills will be able to aid him in that regard. His only other hope is to have special-plant summon cards. Heh, imagine a plant that eats abyss creatures, or another that shoots out exploding peas. That’ll be cool.’
Next was Wolfman, whom Roy approached very carefully. First, he helped him with his own chores that morning, then gave him the special part of the meal they ate, and then asked Wolfman about his exploits as an executioner.
The brutish man had only become an executioner in the last three years. And he didn’t enter through Irregular Academy since he was obviously way too old for that to have happened. He was a construction worker with a daughter, and when his system arrived, he performed the Executioner Exam and gained his License. Shortly after, he was approached by a scout from the Special Military Unit of the Army Force of the Central Alliance.
And then Roy asked a few questions, and he didn’t even know when Wolfman wholeheartedly began telling him about his system.
The D-Class Executioner’s sign-in system was called "WOLF.exe." What a surprise, was it not?
His title was: "He Who Becomes WereWOLF.exe by Night."
Whereas his world was called "Twilight City," a postmodern landscape with dark skyscrapers and lonely alleys.
In Twilight City, vampires secretly roamed free, treating humans like livestock by taking positions in government, security, and even the crime syndicates. High Society was made of vampires and vampires alone, led by the Vampire Mayor. And here came the host of WOLF.exe, who was a detective that worked on a cold murder case, but got killed by vampires after prying too deeply and was turned into a werewolf by an individual called the Shaman. A detective during the day, but at night, he was the vigilante known as Wolfman.
Wolfman said something interesting to Roy: his system had no interface or panel when he signed in. Everything was manual, meaning he didn’t have a ’level’ identifier in the traditional sense. The Shaman ran a black market and was his personal benefactor, whom he considered to be the manifestation of the system in the storyline.
His starting skills were [Wolfing] and [Blessed by Night], which were his active and passive skills, respectively. Aside from his starting skills, Wolfman wasn’t willing to share more about his subsequent skills. But since he was a D-Class Executioner, Roy deduced that he must have three more skills.
A dead vampire caught aflame and turned to ash, leaving behind a ’Bloodstone,’ which Wolfman could use to activate charms and purchase charms from the Shaman. While killing a vampire, he received a ’Wisp of Twilight,’ which was the energy he spent to remain in his werewolf state. However, it recovered faster when he was back to being a normal human.
Additionally, when he defeated a vampire boss, the Wisp of Twilight he gained was always so much that it coalesced into a Twilight Stone, which the Shaman helps increase an aspect of himself; in other words, it was his stat point.
Whereas, his stats were "Mass" as his body stat, "Wrath" as his mind-soul stat, "Bloodthirst" as his release stat, "Serenity" as his fortification stat, and "Fate" as his randomness stat.
Wolfman’s skill point, or tier increase, was called ’Demon Vein,’ but the actual skills came as ’Demon Heart.’ Both of which the Shaman helped him infuse into his body.
With that, Roy wrote down his final evaluation of WOLF.exe:
’So, goddamn cool! The vigilante story, vampires, everything! If he shifted into his werewolf state, I don’t think Master Abraham would have won against him in arm-wrestling so easily. But considering his wrath and bloodthirst stats, I believe he avoids changing when not necessary. And even when I saw him change, I bet it was only a partial transformation. For someone whose EXE is prone to making him go crazy, I really commend him for always being so cheerful and easy-going.’
Last but most definitely not least, Miss Tamara Dozie, the B-Class Executioner known as Sunfire.
She, of course, had the most intriguing and interesting system out of all, save for Roy. However, when Roy pestered her for knowledge of her EXE, she said she would only agree if they exchanged knowledge. Roy, having already told Dr. Gretsch and Wolfman about his GAME.exe, had no issues with this. But...
"...Your actual system info. Not that lie you keep on repeating," Gunfire said, making Roy’s hair stand on end.
He chuckled awkwardly. "Lie? N-No way."
"I have known Abraham since I was fifteen. He only ever notices people with really special systems. And to take you as his student? Yours must be out of this world," she voiced with a scanning smile.
Roy’s eyebrows twitched in annoyance. ’Another one of those...’
Knowing he couldn’t agree to her request, he focused on doing chores for her and helping her do whatever menial task she had assigned to her.
In the end, he could only gain three pieces of her system information.
Firstly, her system’s name was: "FIRE.exe";
Her title was: "As an Emissary of the Sun God, I Wield FIRE.exe and Ash";
And her world was called: "The Pyramid of Nether."
