Chapter 341: Mana Wither Plague

Originally, she wanted to make something simple to eat, but after earning so many goodwill points, Ruan Chanchan felt a bit itchy to do some shopping with the points that she had earned and with Xiao Xi missing, there was no one to tell her that she needed to be careful with the points. She quickly bought some Sichuan peppers along with some alcohol, bay leaves and a few more things to make the mala crayfish.

However, as she was purchasing the spices, her attention turned to the crayfish that Zhou Fan had caught, and an idea formed in her mind. She thought about it a little and decided to sell it in the Interdimensional Shopping Hub. Though these things looked quite normal, the truth was that they were high in mana. If someone were to purchase them, then she would naturally get a lot of fate points as well.

She carefully assessed the entire crayfish and found that if it was sold properly, the base limit price that she could receive was fifteen fate points, which was neither low nor high. Ruan Chanchan pursed her lips and, without hesitation, placed a few crayfish on the sale. There were a lot of crayfish; thus, even when Ruan Chanchan took more than twenty crayfish, no one noticed anything. They vanished into thin air, leaving behind nothing but soft shimmer.

Let’s see who will buy these crayfish and at what price, thought Ruan Chanchan.

On the other side, in a world where arcanes and sigils were ruling, Master Gao Nan was feeling annoyed as he stared despondently at the cauldron inside of which the potion was bubbling. His apprentice, a young girl with pointed ears, sighed and said, "It seemed like we failed in making the mana stability potion again, Master." They had been trying to make this potion for quite sometime but nothing seemed to be working. It was as if the heavens themselves had decided that the end of their world was going to happen, no matter how much they tried to save those who were affected by the Mana plague.

"We cannot give up," Master Gao Nan coughed as he poured the useless potion in the sewers. He sat down on a chair and nursed his forehead before saying, "The people are waiting for us to come up with a way to save them. If we let them down, then we will never be able to face our people again." They had a huge responsibility on their shoulders, and they could not run away from it even if they wanted to. There was no such thing as they could not do it; they had to do it, no matter what the cost of this stubborn determination might be.

Suddenly, just as Master Gao Nan was feeling a bit hopeless, there was a chime that went inside his head, and he raised his head to look at the screen in front of him. It was the system that he had awakened a few days ago, but it was of no use to him, so he had never browsed through it. However, this time around, the notification did catch his attention. On the screen, in bold green words, the following words were written: Primitive Blue Shell Crayfish. Rich in volcanic minerals and untainted sea essence.

Mana points: +18 points

Master Gao Nan’s eyes widened. He had been hoping for such a miracle to happen for a very long time. As soon as he saw the notification, without even bothering to stop and think, he purchased all the crayfish, as he was worried that they would run out of stock.

Once he purchased the crayfish, he went to the side room and then took them out to the table. As the crayfish materialised, they started to scuttle all over the table and tried to attack him as they snapped at him. However, Master Gao Nan did not mind this. He was staring at the crayfish as if they were a big treasure chest that had been given to him; his chest moved up and down and he looked at the sight in front of him with great relish.

"Look at them," he whispered. "The shell density is enough to make up for the lack of mana in the potion and then there is the essence of earth fire infused in their shells."

Master Gao Nan did not waste any time and collected all the shells before grinding them into fine, glowing blue powder. He then rushed out of the side room and commanded his disciple, "Get on with it; I think we will succeed this time around."

The young girl did not understand what was going on, but she started to make the potion again. Because they were starting from scratch, it took some time. Finally, after waiting for fifteen minutes, Master Gao Nan poured the blue powder into the potion and watched the originally green potion turn translucent. The energy that had been rolling off in waves and showing clear signs of being unstable turned calm and no longer looked turbid and chaotic.

"We have done it!" Master Gao Nan whispered as he looked at the sight of the potion, his breathing turning ragged with excitement. "We have finally done it! This potion can certainly cure the mana wither plague in the major sects. We can save thousands of lives!"

It was all thanks to heaven that they were able to get these ingredients on time, or else many of the lives would have been lost.

Ruan Chanchan had no idea that she had actually saved more than a thousand lives. She was currently chopping the scallion and watching the crayfish boil in the chicken broth that she had arranged from her supermarket. As she added the scallion, the smell turned even more intoxicating, making even the queen unstable to sit in her cave. πšπ•£π•–πšŽπš πšŽπš‹πš—π¨π―π•–π•.π•”π¨π•ž

Soon, the square was surrounded, and Ruan Chanchan, who was aware of what was going on, immediately took out a giant crayfish that had turned a brilliant shade of crimson and handed it to the queen who was standing right next to her curiously. "Your majesty, would you like to have a taste?"

"INSOLENCE!"
