Having Wives And Raising Children Levels Me Up
Chapter 3 - 0. A Beautiful Swordswoman.
Unlike Boateng and Eric, Shawn had definitely felt the change in temperature in the room.
He was able to feel it because he could use mana, but since the other two couldn’t, neither of them had felt anything when the chilling sensation stormed out of Austin’s body.
But Shawn wondered how this was possible when everyone knew the useless noble in front of them didn’t have a mana core.
Unless.....
’No, I refuse to believe that he had awakened a mana core.’ Shawn uttered in his thoughts before clenching his fists.
Then he flowed mana into his legs and fists before vanishing from where he stood, reappearing directly in front of Austin with his fist already aiming straight for Austin’s face.
Shawn was not going to waste this opportunity.
A part of him felt worried a second ago, but he knew he had to act fast before Austin made the first strike.
And so, he slammed his fist straight at Austin’s face, but to Shawn’s surprise, two massive arms made entirely of solid mana erupted from behind Austin’s back.
The arms were enormous and each one was easily three times the size of a normal man’s arm.
One of the arms swung sideways and it caught Shawn midair before flinging him across the room like he was a stack of hay.
The impact of Shawn’s back against the wall was so hard and fast that he instantly went unconscious, and now his lifeless body slid down from the wall to the floor.
Both Eric and Boateng watched this and the room turned quiet instantly.
"You little....." Eric’s face twisted with rage upon seeing his unconscious cousin, then he rushed forward at Austin, only for Austin’s second mana arm to shoot out and wrap its fingers around Eric’s throat.
It lifted him clean off the ground and Eric’s feet dangled in the air as the mana arm’s grip tightened around his neck, making it hard for him to breathe with every passing second.
Boateng watched all of this happening in front of him and he felt his legs give out under him.
To think that a useless noble like Austin could actually awaken his mana core was something he couldn’t have predicted at all.
After all, even he and Eric couldn’t awaken a core as well.
But seeing Austin use mana right in front of him made him regret how they had beaten him up a while ago.
Boateng instantly dropped to the floor, then his back hit the desk behind him as his mouth tried opening but no words came out.
In the end, he forced the words out. "You.... you’re a conjurer?" Boateng managed to say with his voice barely above a whisper.
Austin heard it but he didn’t reply.
In fact, he wasn’t interested in answering because despite taking the healing pill, it had only lessened the pain enough for him to walk a little.
However, his ribs still hurt every time he breathed and his legs even felt unsteady right now.
In other words, the healing pill had done enough to keep him moving around but not enough to make him feel really comfortable.
In a nutshell, Austin needed to rest right now, so why bother talking to a bunch of idiots who sought pleasure and comfort in beating the weak up to the brink of death.
Instead, Austin’s eyes darted to the desk Boateng was cowering against.
His gaze landed on the scroll they had taken from the previous host, along with the pouch of gold coins sitting next to it.
So he reached over to pick them both before heading toward the door.
As he walked out of the room, the mana arm let go of Eric’s throat, allowing him to crash hard against the floor, though Eric had fainted a while ago so he didn’t even know what had happened the moment the mana arm’s grip tightened around his throat.
Meanwhile, Austin walked out of the room and out of the mansion, which led him to the street outside the Chan Household Apothecary.
But standing whilst pacing back and forth near the mansion gate was a beautiful young lady with a white fluffy tail swishing behind her with every movement she made.
Her wolf ears were pressed flat against her head, signifying how worried she had been since her young master had stepped into the mansion in front of her.
She pondered deeply on whether she should enter or not, but the previous host had asked her not to come in, so she was in a conundrum about what to do, and this led to her prolonged pacing up to this point.
However, she stopped pacing the moment she heard the door open and she spun around instantly.
Her eyes immediately landed on Austin and she closed the distance between them in seconds.
"Young master. You’re bleeding?! What did they do to you in there?" Nora asked worriedly as her eyes scanned Austin from head to toe.
Austin lifted his head a bit and more memories began to flash within his mind.
But then he noticed a new screen appearing at the top right corner of his vision.
It contained her status and Austin zoomed into it to have a better look at her details.

Staring at the beautiful woman in front of him, along with the details displayed at the top right corner of his eyes, Austin couldn’t help but feel bad for how the previous host had treated this beautiful wolfkin swordswoman.
However, despite how badly the previous host had treated her, she stayed and didn’t leave his side.
Even despite the fact that the previous host gambled a lot, drank a lot, and even sold every single thing his family owned, this beautiful young lady stood by him and didn’t leave his side, unlike the rest of the other staffs of his late father’s mansion.
Pushing this thought aside for now, Austin forced a grin as he replied. "It’s nothing, Nora. I’m fine."
"I don’t think so, young master. You have blood on your face and you’re walking like your ribs are broken too."
Austin chuckled softly and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I think they might be broken. Anyways, we can’t stay here right now. We need to find an inn to spend the night."
"But young master, we can’t just leave like this. They did this to you, so please wait here and let me go in to show them a piece of my mind."
