Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 713 - 672: Magic Ministry Visit (Part 3)
"You are all the best students at Hogwarts, and I’m delighted that you’ve made the right decision to join the Ministry of Magic."
She grabbed a handful of powder and threw it into the fireplace, wearing a fake smile.
"Minerva, you..."
"Thank you, Professor Umbridge." Professor McGonagall interrupted her, striding into the fireplace and calling out, "Ministry of Magic."
The next moment, she disappeared from the office.
Umbridge’s face turned sour; she had intended for Professor McGonagall to return, but it was too late for that now.
"Everyone else, follow along." She took a deep breath, trying to maintain the fake smile on her face.
When everyone passed through the fireplace and arrived at the Ministry of Magic, they immediately saw Professor McGonagall not far away, beside Fudge.
"Welcome, welcome to all of you." Fudge came over cheerfully.
"Oh, Minister, you’re personally here to greet us." Umbridge’s voice was higher and sharper than usual.
The two Slytherins also looked pleasantly surprised.
"You are the future hope of the Ministry of Magic, of course I should be here personally." Fudge said with a big smile, "Come along, I’m sure you’re eager."
He led everyone toward the elevator, enthusiastically introducing every place they passed.
"That’s the registry, everyone who comes here must register their wand... of course, you don’t have to."
"The Magic Fountain, the proceeds from it are donated to St Mungo’s..."
Along the way, people kept greeting Fudge, and he responded to each one.
"I rarely come to the hall." Once they were in the elevator, Fudge said, "It’s too crowded and very enthusiastic, it always takes a long time for me to get away. If possible, I’d rather spend this time at work."
"That’s because you love your work too much, Minister." Umbridge immediately said, "I think you should leave some personal time for yourself."
"Ah, I try." Fudge said.
Deep inside the elevator, Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, pretending she hadn’t heard a thing... she should have known to let Snape come.
Since there were no other people, each time the elevator stopped, it meant a student reached the place where they would work.
"Fourth floor, Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures..."
"I’m here." Cedric waved to Kael, "See you tonight."
"See you tonight."
Cedric stepped out of the elevator, and Professor McGonagall followed suit.
The first three students had already left on other floors, leaving only Kael, Fudge, and Umbridge in the elevator.
"How do you feel, were you surprised seeing the job announcement?" Fudge asked with a smile.
"I was indeed shocked." Kael said, "I thought it was a prank."
"A prank? Of course not." Fudge said, "This is an unprecedented attempt; many applied, but we decided that the grades from students above fifth grade, their O.W.Ls, are an important reference."
They arrived at the top floor, standing in front of a room with a plaque labeled ’Assistant to the Minister’s Office.’
"Your office, I keep my promises." Fudge pushed open the door, "By the way, Dolores, these children are coming to the Ministry of Magic for the first time, they might feel uncomfortable in many aspects, as a professor, I think you should help them."
Umbridge, about to step forward, suddenly froze, looking at Fudge with disbelief.
"Is there a problem?" Fudge asked.
"No, not at all." Her voice was trembling, "I’ll go right away."
"Thank you for your hard work." Fudge casually said, without looking at Umbridge, directly entering the room.
Kael couldn’t help but look back, meeting Umbridge’s extremely resentful gaze.
Kael had no doubt if it weren’t the Ministry of Magic, if Fudge wasn’t beside them, she would definitely hit him with a jinx.
"What are you waiting for, Professor." Kael said cheerfully, "Hurry up, or you’ll miss the elevator, and you’ll have to wait quite a while."
Umbridge’s face instantly turned red, panting heavily, making her look even more like a toad.
But Kael didn’t care; after speaking, he no longer looked at Umbridge, and walked lightly into the office.
