I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO
Chapter 811 - 808: About to Be Consumed by Jealousy (Part 1)
In front of so many people, Vera Wave felt shy, so she just supported Kris Cooper’s arm and coaxed him softly.
"Be good, let’s go home... and kiss at home, okay?"
"No... no way... you didn’t kiss me..." Kris Cooper hiccupped drunkenly, "I... I won’t... won’t leave!"
Having no choice, Vera leaned in and gave him a peck on the cheek, which finally made the man smile like a child.
"Let’s go home... and keep kissing!"
Sally Dalton walked behind with Nathan Leafcastle, taking in the scene of the two in front of them, and a look of envy flashed in her eyes.
Kris Cooper’s temperament was a bit showy, but it was evident that this man truly and deeply loved Vera, whether in his attentiveness during meals or his genuine affection when drunk.
Thinking of this, she subconsciously glanced at Nathan Leafcastle.
The man beside her, with dark eyes, was staring at the couple in front of them with a look Sally couldn’t understand.
Sally assumed he was feeling unwell and hurriedly asked.
"Nathan, are you okay?"
Coming back to his senses, Nathan Leafcastle shook his head slightly, suppressing the discomfort churning in his chest.
Descending the mountain again, Vera, with Tommy Taylor’s help, stuffed Kris Cooper into the car, bid the two a brief farewell, and immediately got into the car.
Watching their car drive off, Nathan Leafcastle could bear it no longer, turned around, rushed to the trash can, and began to vomit, holding on to it.
His tolerance for alcohol was usually good, but this was the first time he’d drunk this much white liquor, and his body couldn’t handle it.
Sally chased after him, took out a tissue to help him wipe clean, ran to the car to get water for him to rinse his mouth, and spoke with concern.
"Knowing your health isn’t great, you should drink less. Why push yourself like this?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Nathan Leafcastle lifted his face, wanting to say something, opened his mouth, and then hurriedly bent down to continue vomiting.
On the road, the car moved forward.
Kris Cooper leaned against the seatback, squinting his eyes at Nathan Leafcastle in the rearview mirror, a smile playing on his lips.
"My liquor... isn’t that easy to drink!"
"Alright, stop talking!" Vera took a water bottle and carefully brought it to his mouth, "Be good, drink some water, so your stomach won’t hurt later!"
After taking a few sips from the water bottle, Kris Cooper turned his face to look at her.
"Don’t worry, I’m fine." His tone was much clearer, although still a bit lazy, but no longer slurring, he put his arm around her shoulder, gently stroking her long hair, "Your husband isn’t that easy to get drunk."
"Yeah, you’re amazing!" Vera frowned and gave him a scornful look, but still felt sorry for him, and reached out to place her hand on his stomach, "Does it hurt here?"
The man shook his head.
"Then... is there anywhere else you feel unwell?" she asked again.
He tilted his head slightly, brought his lips to her ear, and in a tone only she could hear, spoke softly.
"Honey, you smell so good."
"Stop it!" Vera glanced at Tommy Taylor driving, confirmed he hadn’t noticed anything, then refocused her attention, gave him a fierce glare, and reached out to support his head, resting it on her shoulder, "No more talking, close your eyes and have a good rest."
The man smiled, slid his body down, and rested his head on her lap.
"The shoulder is too hard, this is more comfortable."
After saying that, he truly found a comfortable position and closed his eyes.
Even though he had taken hangover medicine in advance, over a pound of white liquor was bound to make his head a little heavy, and now he really did want to nap for a while.
