In her ear, Nathan Leafcastle’s voice sounded. Vera Wave glanced at the slightly open door and cooperatively screamed.

"Bastard, let me go!"

Irene Spencer quietly descended the stairs, arriving at the Master Bedroom door, and peered in through the crack.

She saw Nathan Leafcastle pressing Vera Wave onto the bed, while Vera was struggling forcefully. As she listened to the screams coming from inside, her laughter grew more intense.

Vera, today is your turn!

Nathan Leafcastle buried his face in Vera Wave’s neck and whispered softly.

"Did she leave?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Vera Wave glanced at the door, not seeing any sign of Irene Spencer.

"Seems like... she’s gone!"

He gently sniffed the fragrance on her body, and Nathan Leafcastle slowly lifted his face. He glanced at the door, and indeed didn’t see Irene Spencer; he immediately released Vera Wave’s shoulders and straightened himself up.

"I’m sorry, Vera."

Vera Wave tidied up her somewhat disheveled clothes and looked him up and down.

"Is it really... nothing to do with you?!"

Her voice was filled with obvious distrust, and Nathan Leafcastle did not explain. He merely raised his hand, took off his suit, and tossed it aside, then did the same with his tie.

Seeing the man’s actions, she took a step back in fright.

Keeping this small action in his sights, Nathan Leafcastle took a deep breath.

"Waverly Hills, 57th Floor." He gave her the address, covering his left arm with his hand, "Call him and give him the address right now; I’m going downstairs to see if I can get her to reveal where Grandma Wave is! If you hear footsteps, pretend to faint!"

"Okay."

Vera Wave hurriedly agreed.

Nathan Leafcastle then turned and walked out the door, reaching out to close it for her. He stepped onto the stairs and only then did he lift his arm from his injured left arm.

The shirt was already torn, and blood was seeping from the wound.

There had been no time earlier, and Vera Wave didn’t know if he was sincere or not. When she instinctively resisted, the lamp shade fragment in her hand accidentally cut his arm, but she hadn’t realized it.

Downstairs, Irene Spencer was coming out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee; seeing him, she was slightly surprised.

"Mr. Leafcastle, so soon?"

"I was a bit heavy-handed and knocked her out!" Nathan Leafcastle grabbed a towel and wiped the blood from his arm. "I’ll arrange a way for you to get out of the country, but first... you need to tell me, where is Grandma Wave?! You should know very well, I can only control Vera if I control Grandma Wave."

Seeing the wound on his arm, Irene Spencer had no doubts.

"I understand." She slightly curved her lips. "However, before I’m safely out of the country, I won’t hand Grandma Wave over to you."

Nathan Leafcastle frowned, "You still don’t trust me now?"

"We weren’t friends to begin with; why would I trust you?" Irene Spencer raised her coffee to her lips and took a sip. "Only when she’s in my hands will you listen to me!"

"In that case, why should I trust you?" Nathan Leafcastle countered.

Irene Spencer sat on the sofa, shrugging her shoulders.

"We’re already in the same boat now; besides trusting me, you have no choice!"

The woman on the sofa looked so calm, as if all of this was just as simple as having a meal. Nathan Leafcastle couldn’t understand how she could do such things and remain so composed.

Taking a deep breath, he spoke again, trying to extract some information from her.

"You should know very well, I just want to control Vera Wave; I don’t really want Grandma to die. How can you ensure Grandma Wave won’t come to harm before I send you out of the country?"
